  1. There is one thing that you can do, regardless whether you're a F2Per or just a person with a low combat level (like myself). If someone comes up to you (or follows you) and types noob, say something like "meh - clicks ignore button". I get so many people saying "aww" and then they run away. (even in P2P worlds) I have an extensive ignore list from people I just don't want to listen to. Also it cuts down on lag when I'm in GE.
  2. Well, 30% in this post would want to seem them back so... I'm not going to argue whether people read them or not, I just think it would be a smart move to make considering the anticipated update coming up soon. I personally prefer them over postbag.
  3. Updated.... I have no clue what Jagex is up to when it comes to PK Worlds, none of us do, so these suggestions also come along with the speculation of what Jagex is about to release. Anyway here are the updates ----- Blessings - I do realize that people have been talking about blessings for.. probably 2 or 3 years. What I need to stress is that it's by far the least important portion of my idea. I've shrunk down my idea for blessings- it had become an eye sore. (actually it's still there if you really ... really want to see it). Affinity Points - I expanded on this topic briefly. More P2P and F2P Changes--- If these update were to go through, both holy and unholy amulets would have to be on F2P, as well as a sort of 'balance amulet' for Guthix. In addition, I think those amulets should give an extra affinity point to their respected god. Thanks for all criticism. Who knows, maybe this would work out better as a smaller PvP world. Imagine if there are 50 PvP worlds, including 5 of this kind.
  4. Basically, I can't beleive it would hurt anything at all. . Although I'm not taking your meaning literally, it really wouldn't hurt anything at all. A F2P ranger will do the same damage regardless which bow he's using. His chance to hit will rise slightly, but that all depends on what your opponent is wearing for armor. I think it would be a useless update UNLESS somehow mages could be compensated with better armor (thus a reason for a higher chance to hit). Anyway my point is Maple bow and Yew Bow - same damage capability. Chance to hit is higher, but you're gonna miss nearly all the time if the other guy is wearing rune or addy armor. FOG armours? If FOG is an acronym I don't know what you're talking about... If you mean FROG armor, then no, that's P2P. I think this is a F2P topic anyway so...
  5. I had though... It should be a new area entirely. Imagine this--- Tutorial Island is gone and all of a sudden, a mass of ... worldly rock emerges from the water. Maybe a fourth or fifth god makes a return that we don't know about, battling amongst themselves (or not). Ahem, creativity, Anyway most importantly this would be opened to P2P and F2P... The one thing F2P hasn't seen are new areas. This would make that happen. If there were to be a new world, what would we do about teleporting? I would say that this new world should have some sort of connection with the Wizard Tower and you could teleport from the Wizard Tower to a central location on this new island. If you wanted to teleport on your own, it would take a higher form of magic.
  6. I agree- Of course some of the god letters were at times ... vulgar. I'm sure the audience has changed tremendously but of course... I don't think the gods have. Besides, lots of people were submitting artwork... I'm not sure if thats been happening with Postbag... I moved my second idea out of the post since God Letters is consuming this post. Expect a return!
  7. I don't know when all you people started playing but I started way way waaaay back in March of 2004. This, I might add, was before ancient magick, before teleblock, before castlewars and before slayer. Since November 2004, we have not seen a single letter from the gods. It's been nearly 4 years. Now we have postbag from the hedge. I think Pete needs to go into hiding and the gods need to come back to Runescape! If you agree, maybe we should start a petition. If it goes anywhere, maybe Jagex (or the gods) will realize. Also, if you want to be part of this petition, please start your reply like so-- (If you don't say YES, I won't count you; if you posted before I edited this, I didn't count you) [hide=REPLY WITH A YES AND I'LL ADD YOU TO THE PETITION]jirenma2001us[/hide]
  8. I'm curious about this anyway How much does hording affect a price? I would assume that if I have 500 mithril bars in my bank, it's not going to do much to the GE economy. ...am I wrong? lol
  9. Of course not all prices in GE are falling. Just look at the GE home and you'll notice that there are some items on the rise. I am looking at two items particular items on GE. One is the F2P item that anyone can get... The mithril bar. Prices are falling and have been falling steadily and much of the fall has been before the most recent update. This alone doesn't make a case. This might shed some light. Mith Grapple It's not often that you see people talking about mithril grapples on RS, but it's a fact that the mithril grapple is a members item and it requires range and agility to use and smithing and fletching to make. I can only imagine that this price drop suggests that fewer people are playing RS at the moment, especially member servers. We haven't had GE for that long, it's hard to make good assessments. My best assessment is that many people have gone back to school and are not playing as frequently. If in a year or so we see the same trend, it will all make sense. In the meantime, it's a very very very good time to be buying mithril bars.
  10. Basically, I can't beleive it would hurt anything at all. . Although I'm not taking your meaning literally, it really wouldn't hurt anything at all. 11. What I don't understand is... where does the 150k+/hour come in? And besides, we have dummies!!!! Attack them and get your strength from 1 to 8!!! It's that easy ;) Ahh well just in time, the circus has arrived! Maybe he got his wish after all --lawl--
  12. There are going to be enormous changes to the game soon. With the latest quest, I think we all can get the idea that something is going to invade Varrock. Who knows, it could just be monsters or what not. ...What if the God Wars were to engulf Runescape? After taking a little time to consider how to implement this into the game, I came up with this idea. ___________________________________________ The Basics When you start your day on RS PKing world, you will be forced to choose a side (Saradomin, Zamorack, or Guthix -there can be no neutral, aside from using a non-PK world). This will last for the day. Anyone who is on your side will be friendly targets and everyone else will be hostile unless they choose not to attack you. You will then have an affinity with the particular god. Let's base this on a 30 day average. So if you commit to the Guthix side for 5 days, and then the Zamorack side for 10 days, you will have average standing with Zamorack, and mediocre standing with Guthix (and a negative standing with Saradomin). Also, it would be difficult to which sides if you have a high affinity with a particular god. PvP combat would be based on god team v god team. Alliance to a god is crucial, so quite possibly the most important thing would be prayer sites for Guthix all around RS. Maybe Guthix could reclaim a few churches or a prayer circle south of Varrock etc. Here is what needs to be considered all over Runescape *Both F2P and P2P* [hide=Click to open]Oh - One thing to mention, these are just suggestions. This isn't all or nothing, some of these may be very good ideas, some may be severely flawed. A Guthix amulet (so that every god has some sort of amulet) Prayer Sites for each god, including at least two of each (initially) in the F2P area (currently they're only for Sara and Zammy). Only allowing a player to recharge prayer points at his or her specific god shrine (and upon death). The ability to change a prayer site from one god to another (via taking it over) Safe respawn sites unique for each god. In addition to these, there are two more that require some explanation--- Random events based on your affinity level to the god you're aligned with So for instance, at a high affinity rating, you might get a random event with Saradomin. I thought of special items that cannot be traded that last for 24 hours after being wielded or worn. These drops can only be used if your allied to the corresponding god. In addition, I also thought of random event style battle test. This would include fighting (or choosing to run away) a monster or one of the gods themselves to show the god you're allied with that you are worthy. I would expect good drops from these events. The ability to bless armor or weapons using prayer If you really want to read this, go to the bottom of the post. I know many people have stressed that 'blessing' or 'blessed items' would not work. Alternatively, rather than having blessings, we could utilize 'affinity points' to all PK world players, allowing for special random events, special drops and special exclusive PK World items (I still think that these items should only last for 24 hours). I just want to point out that the 'blessing' segment is not the hallmark of my idea. [/hide] Here are some things that I have considered for the F2P world specifically. [hide=Click to open]Again, I need to mention, these are just suggestions. The ability to craft unholy and (the new) guthix symbol... should we call that the balance symbol? Church reformations all around the F2P world (The obvious spots would be controlled by Saradomin and Zamorack, but some should be swayed to Guthix) Really I think that sums it up, I can't think of anything else that needs to happen at the moment.[/hide] So there are many problems with this kind of update---- The hurdle here is that people will start joining game worlds and making the game play slightly unbalanced. Imagine, a group of people claiming that world 67 is 'Zamorack' Territory, and it's infested with 60% Zammy, 30% Guthix and 10% Sara. This will happen, surely. It might be necessary to create de-centralized PVP Worlds. Right now when you play runescape, you choose quality, and whether to play F2P or P2P. I would make a whole new category for PVP worlds, and rather than choosing what world number you go to, you would go to the world based on what god you're allied with. This would even out game playing so that one side isn't in complete control over a world. I also thought of ways entire clans can enter a world (without leaving anyone behind). For instance, limiting this to 10 people, maybe it would be possible for a clan of Sara allied players to go into a game (and everyone would be on the same world). There may be better ideas, but I thought of it like this. Here is what I contributed for blessings. For the most part, it will probably not be added. I much prefer some of the other ideas I came up with. [hide=Open if you dare]Rather than using prayer points (which one could imagine as unlimited), everyone on RS will have the ability to bless an item such as armor or weapons. You can bless one item every 24 hours at level 19 prayer, two at level 39, three at level 59, etc 79, 99 being five every 24 hours. Blessed items last 24 hours and the effects are RANDOM. Random being that, there are many things that could happen, but chances are, they will have holy attributes if they are blessed by a Saradomin user and unholy attributes if they are blessed by a Zammy user. Also- only three items can be blessed- your weapon, body, and amulet. Potions (mentioned earlier) will be more discreet, but just like potions, they will only last for 24 hours once applied to the armor or weapon. Some ideas for blessings Body Blessings poison supression - minus one point of damage taken from poison melee damage supression - minus one point of damage taken melee range damage supression - minus one point of damage taken from range magic damage supression - minus one point of damage taken from magic Sara body blessing - increased protection from Sara's foes Guthix body blessing - increased protection from Guthix' foes Zammy body blessing - increased protection from Zammy's foes Weapon Blessings melee damage enhancement - plus one point to damage using melee range damage enhancement - plus one point to damage using range magic damage enhancement - plus one point to damage using magic Sara weapon blessing - increased support to Zammy foes Guthix weapon blessing - increased support against Guthix foes Zammy weapon blessing - increased support to Sara foes Amulet Blessings prayer bonus - +x to your prayer bonus (I don't know how much but it should be random) The obvious part should be that godly weapon / body blessings would be extremely rare. It would provide a normal attribute, but also a random god summon (so for instance, if you're ambushed and you're wearing a platemail with a Sara weapon blessing, maybe an NPC will come to assist you for a few minutes or until it's dead.[/hide]
  13. honestly I don't support the idea of having a quick food button. We have an inventory shortcut key. If you put in a quick food button, then people will be asking for potion buttons and protection prayer buttons and ... I don't know a suicide button. Now... how about a special cursor? Just have a little bar under the cursor that displays your health. You can always see it, and it won't be in the way of anything. So thats a no, unless you want to make an amendment.
  14. I'm not for or against this but make one thing clear---- Anyone capable of making 'unlimited' trades should be flagged. All trades with that person should be watched, and ANY abuse should not be tolerated (account ban, IP ban of both sides of the trade). The bright side of GE is that RS is nearly bot free. No more bots camping at the store buying feathers on every single F2P world. Oh, and this would discourage companies buying RS accounts ;)
  15. If you started playing Runescape recently, you might have no clue what this topic is all about. There are probably few of you in here so I'll keep going without explaining. Tutorial Island is now... well it's no more but it's still on the map. What should be done with it!!? With all the history surrounding Runescape, I'm sure someone can come up with something relevant to the game. It would be like--- a new area to explore which .. was .. already there to begin with. Jagex should turn what once was Tutorial Island into a new area- maybe a new island for us to explore. -- I realized that this actually belongs in bugs & suggestions. Move it if you'd like ;) --
  16. I've probably held a half dozen F2P accounts in the past 4 years. If it wasn't for F2P, I wouldn't be able to experiment with pure making or player killing. At the moment, I have two IDs- P2P Jirenma2001 and F2P endeavorsoul. Both a great and both are fun to use. Why do this? F2P can be a challenge if you play it right. Ahh, and when I'm too busy to pay for RS, I just cancel my membership so I'm not wasting $5 a month. I just prepare for the cancellation and stock up on about 10k nature runes to use for smithing.
  17. Now I know the majority of you are advocating for F2P fletching. thats fine and all. I'm P2P myself and I can see how this would help, but honestly lets get to the point, rarely- I really mean rarely- do you see a person smithing addy arrowheads. I think most people with 75 smithing are P2P anyway. Now, who says herblore wouldn't work? Obviously it's a member's only skill, but at the moment, the only potion available in F2P is a strength potion. I would say, open up herblore to F2P. In fact, why not open up Taverly to F2P. Easy enough, you could have a guard or wall or something at Burthope and White Wolf Mountain, and also restrict access to the dungeon where you bless the meat for the herblore quest... The only point to make is that I would only recommend keeping herblore at a max of level 30. No anti-poison, no Guthix balance potion, and nothing above a defense potion... and of course allow these potions access to F2P. I can't even sell my attack potions on P2P, so I don't think the economy will be effected at all. IMO this will open up a new economy. Newbies and devout F2Pers eager to use more potions. ...Comments???
  18. Two years ago (ok, maybe three), people were talking about increasing the kinds of bows and ammo in the F2P world. Of course that did happen. Lots of people say there is a disadvantage to range because rangers can't make their own weapons. This is hardly true. Bronze - Steel arrows will still do incredible damage if your range stat is high enough. Sure, mithril and addy arrows are very expensive, but you can still do major damage with steel or iron. Also- Did anyone mentioned the fact that F2P cannot make chaos or death runes? If they were to open up fletching to F2P, they would also have to open up chaos runecrafting to F2P as well. ...... Comments? My position on Fletching is that it should stay P2P and my reason is clear. Range does plenty of damage with bronze arrows. You can do more damage with bronze arrows on F2P than you can with mind runes. :) At 60 range, bronze does a max of 8- addy does a max of 10.
  19. wait.. so even if I kill a person with a skull on their head in wildy... I don't get their drops..? something is not right here
  20. I have been playing for a long time, long before gravestones and long before farming... In fact I started before they opened up the Kharazi Jungle. So when I started playing (roughly 4 years ago), when someone died, after about a minute you could pick up their stuff. Fair game right? I remember once getting rune legs (among other things) because someone didn't rune away from a random event and died. What ever you didn't pick up, or what ever someone else didn't pick up, would be lost. So fast forward- I don't know when this happened but now we have gravestones.. I know they've been around for at least a while. So this is what I don't know------- If you kill someone in PVP what happens to the drops if the person is not skulled? If you kill in PVP, what happens to the drops if the person IS skulled? Can you actually claim our stuff back if you were killed in wilderness? and.. Did anything else change aside from the obvious?
  21. What I don't understand is if there is still a bug (GE summon bug), why doesn't Jagex just fix it? Of course it is a minor bug, but just fix it and there will be no more confusion. It might not be a high priority, but it's one less bug for the average scaper to test out and get away with. This game has seen a fair share of abuse anyway.
  22. I would say some interesting things are happening in Runescape GE right now Take a look at this for instance---- http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/c=596b3f ... 59&scale=1 OK, it's just a mithril bar- 30 day average. Lowest price I've ever seen and lowest in 30 days. Taking a good look at the direction, all averages have been going down I think if it comes back up it will rebound fast. I could be wrong, but it's worth a guess. I think theres more to GE than most understand. As far as kids going back to school. If they're in school and not playing RS, then the GE market will change (ie, less items going in and out of GE than usual). I won't predict anything with exception to volatility. There can never be one reason to explain something. Hundreds of things are all going on at the same time. It's more than just a combination of everything mentioned above- it's a combination of that and everything else that no one talks about (minus the obvious- like needles on GE).
  23. Yew bows wouldn't make much of a difference. Look if you have 40 range and you're wearing full D-hide (or even partial d-hide), you're getting a range bonus that can easily destroy a mage. A yew bow is only going to increase the chance to hit, not the damage--- so why bother when your chance to hit is already maxed out? (Not to mention that only a fool would attack someone in full rune with arrows on F2P). Rune arrows are up in the air for me, they sure do a little more damage, but I think it's too much to ask for in F2P. Blood runes belong in P2P. Don't forget the benefits to spell casting as opposed to melee. Someone mentioned crossbows... if you have a high range stat, you can still do incredible damage with a crossbow on F2P
  24. I have a F2P Melee based ID. Strength HP and Prayer are my three highest stats. Defense is at 35. Typically when I train, I wear monk robes and other items with high prayer bonuses. Protection spells tend to last over 3 minutes 30 seconds with 20 bonus on 45 prayer. So my stats are... 40 Attack 57 Strength 35 Defense 47 HP 29 Magic 1 Range 45 Prayer ... All with a combat level of 57 Should I raise my def to 40 so I can wear full rune or should I not? Anything else I should do, such as raising my HP through magic or range? I assume that I should be keeping my prayer at 45...
  25. I have a F2P high prayer ID that has 35 defense at the moment. Lately I've just been having fun with this ID, usually wearing any armor that boosts my prayer bonus (monk robes, sara ammy, etc). My prayer is 44, and my prayer bonus (without a mace) is +20. With this setup, a protection spell will last....... a little over 3 minutes 30 seconds. Without a prayer bonus, it lasts just about 2 minutes. I'm so close to being able to wear full rune. Should I just use that or do you think the monk robes help with combat? At times I train using my prayer so I don't have to eat so much food. That extra three minutes seems to help (even if I just bring the monk robes with me). I'm not going to train my prayer any further, I'll just bury some bones as I go, it's not my highest priority. Here are my stats Attack 40 Strength 57 Defense 35 Range 1 Magic 26 (no hp gain) Prayer 44 HP 47 (25 Agility as an added bonus xD)
