  1. I'm pretty sure that 1 hour dungeons are slow, even in W117. (And even for "nonrushers") Well I'm pretty sure (and I did all of my dungeoneering in w117 minus a few friend/clan dungeons) that you don't get faster than 1hour in w117, at least never happened to me, fastest dungeon i remember was 56 minutes, and everyone were very helpful and cooperative then, heck we didnt even have griefers. I've been doing w117 with my noob account and times are anywhere from 30mins (very responsive, willing to sacrifice a death) to 50mins (people who can't dg or listen). @Quyneax: I've never thought of it as a Nash Equilibrium, good call on that one (and only reason I know of that is "A Beautiful Mind". Great movie.). There lies the problem with 117, most seek to maximize exp/fl thinking that's giving them the most exp rather than maximizing exp/h.
  2. Try switching losslessly from 2h > fire surge with 700+ ping and so much jitter I can't even run a pingtest. Trust me, its a royal pain in the ass as most of the time the staff click isn't registered in-game and therefore when fire surge is clicked on I don't have sufficient runes. Obviously its a non-issue with a decent connection.
  3. Wait... what? Oh, and what would the fastest way to get a t11 boss drop? Get a party of 5 people and rush small dungeons on 5:5? With a csb I prefer baxe by far. Not only does it have similar dps when used properly, it also makes it less click-intensive (very important for me due to my internet screwing up fast clicks in succession). Just don't get lazy, dg is a very click-intensive skill. I wouldn't hunt for the drop, rather just try and do thunder floors as your occults until you get it. But if you are set on hunting for it, thats pretty much how. I find it helps if all 5 are higher combat as well, but don't have any proof of that.(no actual data).
  4. Crafting: Cutting Gems are usually a pretty good option.
  5. Commenting on the first article. I think most of the skill in RS is minimizing the grinding and that is why so few play it after a certain time in their life. While there may be some skill in nex and Castle Wars (never really did them so Idk) and there is skill in dungeoneering efficiently, most other aspects of the non-PvP aspects of the game are almost entirely stat and equipment based rather than skill based.
  6. Comparing apples with oranges here. Enticing the little kiddies to pay for an extra month of membership on their account is a marketing scheme. Telling people to get certain in-game benefits they have to either refer a friend or (more likely) create and pay for extra accounts, is promoting paying extra money for game benefits.

Two questions: 1. What is the latest one can join a Soul Wars game and still get tokens/points/whatever reward coinage used? 2. What would the approximate magic exp/h and cost (gp/h) of barraging at soul wars?
  8. Fastest game time exp: Fastest real time exp: ZMI When I ran 75-77 rc at ZMI I used the ZMI bank and averaged 48k exp/h with a method very similar to Quyneax's (link to it earlier in this thread). With that very little bit of data I find it hard to believe "Banking at the ZMI bank will almost cut your exp/h in half."
  9. Something about how deflect ranged blocks 100% of the damage from the eyes on World-Gorger Shukarhazh and how if it's Defence has been ragered low enough, it's faster to kill all three eyes for higher hits could be added as well. It's ridiculous how many people I've dungeoneered with who have no idea how to kill Shukarhazh and just pray Magic and run around aimlessly. I was talking about a different boss http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Runebound_behemoth I know, I meant that a lot of people don't know how to do Shukarhazh properly, so trivia about it would be good as well. :P So deflect range is better than mage? Or only when eyes are open and use deflect mage when they're closed?
  10. With SS and uni you shouldn't have any trouble staying alive using a CM. For the fun of it I've tried CM, SS and yak to bank bones, not worth the trouble though (needed 2-3 brews to stay alive and quite often drop to around 300hp). If I go to bank bones (which I prefer) I use the CLS. All the time using Ovl and Turmoil of course.
  11. When gaining confidence at bosses I would always go with close and very trustworthy friends. That way if I happen to mess up and die I'm not pressured to rush back and get items, they are willing to pick up the big ticket items for me and return them. I'd also practice returning before the grave timer runs out, something that I only bothered doing for arma. I'm not sure what else I can say as far as preparation. The rest comes down to player mentality. Teaming bosses hurt gp/hr, and so does welfaring. If you don't have confidence then either don't boss or be better. Teaming bosses is good for learning the basics on how to deal with them. My process for bossing is 1-2 trio's, 1-2 solo's with <20m risk, solo with no regard to risk. The first is to get used to the basics of the boss, second to get used to taking all the damage (and more than I'd expect in the last stage), and last is to profit. And toss in a few duo's/trio's later for [cabbage]s and giggles with friends. Also nothing wrong with doing bosses for a little fun. I like being efficient yet still manage to take time to fool around with friends.
  12. Thanks! That rates seems reasonable. How much Dung XP do you get in total from 1-29 C2? Sorry for my questions lol, I'm on a holiday so I can't figure it out myself. I also heard that people get double the fishing spots in F1-10 than 10-20 but well, nothing you can do about it can you ;)? The C2 dung exp is negligible, only amounts to 30-45k exp 1-29. I think. Haven't payed attention to that so I can't really give a definite answer there. After thinking a little more about it I'm sure you'll get a little more fish exp than I get. I only started paying attention at level 107, meaning I got significantly more dungeoneering experience than you would get per reset yet we would still do the same C2's and get similar fishing exp per reset.
  13. From my recent dungeoneering and c2 fishing I've got 0.0603 fish exp per dungeoneering experience. As I'm nearing another ring reset and still haven't done my c2's that figure is favoring dungeoneering experience. I expect after this reset it will get closer to 0.0667 fish exp per dung exp. I was near your fishing level when I started this (was 84 fishing) so I expect you'll get similar results. I didn't test is myself, but have heard from a few different people that the lower the floor the more fishing spots available, and therefore the better fishing experience. As I'm c2'ing to replace c1'ing I haven't tried the repeat F1 c2 fishing method. With regards to the nerf 50% of spots provied 50% experience, therefore they only nerfed it by 25%. Its still good as far as I'm concerned, should get 99 fishing before 200M exp :P
  14. Thanks for clarifying, couldn't remember them stating task only or not. I might just try taking on a few of these Jadinko's myself then. :)
  15. So you want 200m slayer monsters? or a new skill, slayer numba twooo? If you don't like an mMorpg, maybe you should play another game. If the whole game was instanced....it wouldn't be runescape anymore. Update looks nice, will be fun to compete with others for slayer drops again. Last time we had this was dark bows, and that was good competition. Lol, glad at least you enjoy seeing who can throw the first black knife or wind spell first. For a special drop for a weapon that didn't need upgrading, no less! That may outclass another weapon and provide an easy-out of a skill that you personally enjoy for lots of people. You don't think they'll be another task only monster? I don't recall Jagex saying anywhere that it isn't, so keep that in mind. If they did specify that, my apologies.
  16. muwahahaha gotcha. always pray range when he's running, as range pray 1/2's the damage from his magic oil like attack. I don't know why, but i DO KNOW mage praying against it will get you butchered. Thats pretty much how I do it, pray range when he's running (yeah it shows a magic splat, but praying range is what works), hide behind pillar for "here it comes", ss and when I see him turn to face the gate switch to range pray to negate the range special.
  17. Go back to the...oh wait. I've never understood the need to rant. Every once in a while I may [bleep] about something to friends, but as far as ranting on forums goes...I know better than to think other people care.
  18. Lag

Neltak replied to Neltak's topic in Tech and Computers
Thanks for the help Killerred. I'm not a fan of Vista either. Regretted getting a laptop with it, just didn't want to fork over some money for a different OS a couple months after buying it Yeah it was from the closest. As I mentioned in passing, due to rural location, I'm forced to use satellite internet (barrett xplorenet  ). Guess I'll get a new computer, still suffer from awful lag (though hopefully a little better), and hope to find a job in a more central location.
  19. Lag

Neltak replied to Neltak's topic in Tech and Computers
Its not the worlds, those numbers were off of a speedtest. I know with this connection (damn satellite) I'll always have some lag, I'm mainly wondering if a newer/better computer will reduce the lag. Its nearly always a 2 second lag, spikes to 5-10 seconds once in a while, drops to 0.5-1 second rarely.
  20. Lag

Neltak replied to Neltak's topic in Tech and Computers
Vista Home Premium, 32bit As for the GPU its an integrated GMA 950 Based on that I can't be running Vista? :o Funny because its the OS that came with the laptop. Anyhow, if you need any other info just let me know.
  21. Lag

Neltak posted a topic in Tech and Computers
I'm thinking Computer, but would like someone who's a little more computer savvy to answer. My RS runs at (based on displayfps) FPS: 5-11, 6 being the norm MEM: 60,000k - 120,000k IN: 100-600B/s (usually 100-200) OUT: usually 15-40 B/s OFFHEAP: 0k CACHE: 100% My internet connection is: 0.96Mb/s DL, 0.17MB/s UL, ~660ms ping And my computer is a POS 6yr old laptop (If you must know it runs on an Intel Core Duo CPU, 1.73GHz, 2GB RAM) Reason why I think its the computer is that if the IN/OUT refer to data transfer between runescape and me it should be more than sufficient. And when running RS java takes up a significant amount of the CPU's resources. So...based on this information, would a new (up-to-date) computer reduce my lag?
  22. I think I'm around 800 or 850 now, its been a few months since I slayed so I'm not sure. Only approx 13.4M exp, did smoking kills pretty much as soon as I could (wasn't member/didn't slay before smoking kills). Also note Kuradel was released after/around when I hit 500 I think.
  23. Grand idea, wish I woulda thought of it. So in theory if the mage cannot/won't move out from under you (as in the image where ranger is dead and you're attacking the warrior), would the *best* lure be: W R M (GGS under this guy) Wall R & M can be swapped, protect whichever isn't under you. Now I'm curious how would be best to kill trio...really wish I didn't have to go to work right now so I could see how feasible that method is.
  24. Its easy to lure trio properly, but keeping it is the hardest part. I find the lure gets ruined more often with deaths or when an idiot tele's out then by trampling. This hasn't happened to me when I dg'd with DGS (and I can't wait til I can again), but it happens more than enough with other people.
  25. This last week I got a 6.9:1 dg:combat ratio. Perhaps I'm weird, but I don't consider that obscenely small.
