Mining: Might be considered impractical because of the dropping, but juju pots, urns, lava titan and dropping the gold was getting me 85k (little concentration) to 92k (high concentration) exp/h. Because I'd take supplies for 55-60min trips the inventory's fairly full at the start and requires more attention, but after an initial 10mins it gets to be a much more relaxed process.

Simply put, what is optimal gear for arma solo, namely the shield slot and helm. Is a melee help preferable over an arma helm? For shields, is Spectral >> Dragonfire > Blessed Spirit Shield? As in would Spectral increase solo kills/trip by 2-3 over dragonfire, and that by 1-2 over BSS? Also prayer: Is Rigour > leech def & range? NEW QUESTION: Is 14-16 kills/trip (using rigour, yak to uni, no divine or pernix) on par with others around my stats?
  3. I'd like to see Jagex shift the focus to untradeable rewards, whether they be skilling rewards or even combat rewards. As for the whole grinding aspect, I think most people are overlooking the fact that fighting combat bosses for cash is grinding. At least right now grinding at bosses nets cash, quite often grinding skills results in little/no profit/huge losses and few or no useful items. But if they were to also provide untradeable boss rewards, could that also be seen as a step in the right direction? Perhaps having a boss that drops brawler-like items (untradeable skilling aids), in addition to untradeable combat rewards, even simple items like gloves better than barrows, boots better than dragon, etc.
  4. Chins "run away" on death.
  5. Already had rigour. Ended up getting a maul anyways, ccbow next.
  6. Anybody have experience with a maul at Bandos or Sara (both in teams)?
  7. Only wish I could kill off fm'ing bots. Guess I'll settle for making them gain minimal exp if they come to my world. (Planting flowers in their path ruins some of these bots)
  8. I've been trying to figure out what would be the best next chaotic for me. I have it split between the Maul and Crossbow, but am having a difficult time figuring out which would see more use. Bosses I do currently: DKS (solo 2.5 brid/tribrid), Bandos (team), Sara (team) Bosses I am looking to become efficient at in the future: Arma (solo and team), TDS, Possibly Nex. 1. With DKS I'm not sure if the C-Xbow will outclass Karils, does it? 2. Does the Maul outclass the Rapier at any of these? 3. Assuming I go to DKS, Bandos (team), Arma (solo), and TDS twice as much as Sara (team), Arma (team) and eight times as much as Nex, which chaotic do you think would be of more use? If it makes a difference assume max gear (minus deflector for range), no Spirit Shield, Turmoil, Rigour and use of Extremes/overloads where necessary.
  9. I only see that when dealing with botters. Scammers you can avoid/prevent getting scammed from. Botters are just annoying cheats. And since I've been fm'ing outside Varrock west bank I've been seeing quite a few bots. Guess Jagex's bot detection is still amazing. But on the topic of scammers...I did have one guy ask me if he could borrow 1.3m for a dragon hatchet. Funny thing is when I tried lending him one he declined. <_<
  10. Without a doubt ovl is way more useful at DKS. Also solo maging there is awful...I tried it a while back (before I had ovl or turm) and the kills/h were simply no enough. If I recall correctly when I was 2.5 bridding DKS with ovl and piety I was getting ~75 kills/h (with cannon and not counting banking/prep time). But for slayer turmoil and soulsplit are an amazing asset. It all depends on what you prefer, easier bossing or easier slayer.

When that happens just C1 rush it. Sure you "miss out" on exp, but it also makes it possible for you to get much more exp with your friends. Before I worked out a better system for doing floors with my friends I'd find my self c1'ing 1-3 of my top 15 floors because I hate random teams and the little bit of "missed exp" is minor when comparing it to the exp I'd miss by waiting for my friends to need it again. If that didn't make any sense: C1 rushing a high floor or two makes more sense than waiting for people to need to do it again. (If you just dg with a few friends)
  12. Idk what there is to explain. I simply take 5 net traps (in case I lose one by accident), as many arctic bear pouches and summoning pots for how long I plan on staying, and wear the camo for the area (graahk I think) with the enchanted water tiara. The location I use is the southmost and I set up all four traps. Whenever I'm setting up a trap (after checking it and getting the salamander) I drop the salamander as the trap goes up. Also instead of just clicking on the next trap to check it, I click so I run close to the side where the trap is set up, then check the trap. That way the trap can be set up right away instead of having to move an extra couple squares for each trap. Why I think its so good exp for me is that with that setup and my level I almost never fail catching, and therefore pretty much never have to wait. Oh and I check the traps in a clockwise cycle and nearly never have to wait for the next trap. If it looks like I do, there's always another trap ready to be checked and I just restart my clockwise cycle. I didn't believe my exp/h results myself at first because everybody else tells me much lower exp/h (still don't really trust my results so I'm going to check again on a 2h run sometime), but I have tried it on three different 1h tests and got 79k, 84k and 86k exp/h during them.
  13. Orange salamanders imo. Except at my level I get 80-90k exp/h at orange salamanders, I can't get close to that at red.
  14. Congrats DF, expected.
  15. The sole reason that extreme defense pots should exist in your bank is to be made into overloads. I don't bosshunt. My current stack of overloads is large enough. Too large in fact. Use them for slayer. :) As for the whole gs debate...I think they're useless. When I was 80 combat stats I laughed at people using them (especially to train...they'd say they're training str, but if thats the case get a ss), and now that I'm 99's I laugh even more. And reading the "gs's are better at bandos for lower levels" argument...really? If your lower leveled you shouldn't even be considering bandos. Paying 55M (might as well get ags for the spec) to fight a boss where you'll be crashed all the time and hardly get any kills is not a good allocation of your resources/time.
  16. In the clan world we see many forms of attention seeking, and thats what tends to help many clans recruit. Getting positive attention directed towards them and recruiting from that helps the more successful clans. Which forms of attention seeking do you find acceptable? Some examples I can think of off the top of my head: Posting "calling out" topics to clans you dislike, Posting your win topics, posting youtube videos of speeches and the like, mass posting topics *coughteamdancough*. I find that the win topics are obviously acceptable and while youtube videos are entertaining at times, they tend to be pointless and not give positive attention towards the clan.
  17. When I was soloing sara for fun:
  18. Someone I know recently did a test to prove this one way or the other. "I recently did an extreme test to see if your approval per day affects the rewards. Setup: Filled up coffers and got approval to 100%. Day 1 Approval ticked down to 99%. Got it back up to 100% and collected rewards: (can't link image, but was your standard 446 maple logs, bird nests and herbs for the one day) Then went outside and killed villagers until approval was at 0%. Day 2 Approval ticked up to 1%. Got it back up to 100% then went to collect rewards NOTHING! Conclusion: Your approval rating at the time MTK ticks over to the next day (varies for everyone) does affect your rewards."
  19. Had fun. 16k 2d
  20. As I've gained all the primary rewards I needed, I am now wondering what rewards should be considered from here on out. Also please give a short explanation on why/where they're useful. What I have: Chaotic Rapier, Arcane Stream Necklace, Scroll of life, Scroll of Cleansing, Herbicide. Thank-you.
  21. Don't mind me, just passing through. Aw man, totally should have posted that :( You should have, and I'm quite disappointed that you didn't. Can you please take this to PM, I would appreciate it if Team Dan topics were not filled with pointless posts. I thought it was contributing to the discussion value of the original post. :kanye:
  22. Team Dan's still alive? Guess the rumors are true. Now I'd like a garden pie please.
  23. 1. I can sorta confirm it. IF I remember right then when I was upgrading my ring and looking at the options it said skill door reduction on artisan's as well. I don't think I'm imagining it, but there is a ~5% chance I am (sleepy atm). 2. Never actually thought of classifying doors as "gatherer" or "artisan" skill doors. It almost makes sense that there's a difference. 3. If (big if because although it makes sense I doubt it works that way) the rings work like that, I'd think the class that's best for you depends on your stats. I tend to open up more artisan-like skill doors than gatherer skill doors so for me an artisan's would be best. For you, that depends on your stats/stats of people you dg with.
  24. Happy birthday ASC. <3:
  25. Showed up to watch this battle of epic proportions, then got mass-pm'd by both teams to aid them. Seeing Team Timmothy (TT?) was at a disadvantage I joined them from about the 2-4 hour mark. Left as I was getting hungry, went to McD's, watched a little on the tele, came back and it was still going. In order to appease both sides and help bring an end to this madness I then assisted Team Everton (TE?) in clearing the opposition. Was interesting to say the least.
