  1. Thought I'd share some pictures of my growing collection of books. All I have is my (cheap) webcam, so the pictures aren't the best quality, heh. [hide=One] This bookcase contains my favorite books. The top shelf is nothing but books by fantasy-fiction author Tamora Pierce, seven copies of which she signed for me when I drove to see her at a book signing last year! Other favorites include J. K. Rowling, Cate Tiernan, Joe Abercrombie, Michael Crichton, Anne Rice and Diana Gabaldon. [/hide] [hide=Two] This bookcase contains some other books I enjoy that I wouldn't classify as "favorites," and my small manga collection (top shelf and almost entire second shelf: mostly Claymore and Full Metal Alchemist. The books piled to the right on the ground (I ran out of bookshelves!) are my collection of dictionaries, reference, and writing books. I'll get a fourth bookcase soon. <_< [/hide] [hide=Three] THE BOOKCASE OF ETERNAL SLOPPINESS. Fear it. This bookcase originally held all of my non-fantasy fiction, but I buy so much fantasy-fiction that it kind of got overrun... Basically the only organization going on here is that my collection of classics (Dracula, Peter Pan, The Divine Comedy, etc.) is on the top shelf. Other than that... uh... I'll get around to sorting it out eventually.[/hide] :)
  2. Interesting article! I haven't kept up much with her in recent years, as I own every book she's published, so this is news to me! However, near the end of the article they quote her as saying, "I remain committed to Christ as always but not to being 'Christian' or to being part of Christianity," which doesn't really do much to confirm whether or not she'll stick to giving up on writing about vampires. +
  3. Finished reading The Lost World tonight. God, I love that book. Dinosaurs eating people are win. What should I read next? - - - Let it be noted that in 2004, Anne Rice devoted all of her future books "to the Lord," and as such, has stopped writing anything to do with vampires. Now she writes about angels and that sort of thing, her two latest published books being about the life and times of Jesus.  R.I.P. Lestat. - - - Edit: Also, for the sake of science and discovery, I Copy+Pasted everything above from my post into that website, and it compared it to Stephen King. I'm sensing a trend...
  4. Finally, someone gets it at least. <3: <3: <3:
  5. Less of this ^^^ More of this vvv
  6. Gtfo. Nao. You wub me too much to ban me. Never forget: you quit first, you set a bad example. You are the King of Fail as such.
  7. Yes. It is purely for this reason alone. I am attempting one more time to un/reinstall Java, but if that doesn't work, I am going to give up. I'm really gonna miss you, too, Steffan. Please don't hesitate to message me here or on MSN. :)
  8. Not aware of any glitch, got all of them via nests from wood cutting. Do they give huge exp or soemthing? or are ravens really useful?? Ravens don't give any EXP points to anything, and they don't have any other use besides looking nice.
  9. Yay!!! Boo!!! I forgive you for this, because I know it comes from a place of anger and sadness... you don't really mean it. You meant to say "Laikrob is banned," didn't you? <3: Tim, words cannot express. :P
  10. They're considered quite a rare drop; if you really do have 15, you're quite lucky. I have five ravens myself. :twss:
  11. I know, I'm going to really, really, really miss Fudgepuppy. :(
  12. WAT. You can't fire me any longer. I love you, too. <_< :( Wmx
  13. That's not a bad lot to be thrown in with. Aside from Dan Brown maybe. :twss:
  14. bai guys. i will still be around on TIF, don't be a stranger. <3: Edit: I guess this needs a bit more explanation. My computer can no longer run Java. Every time I try to boot up RS, my browsers crash. I have done everything possible to attempt to fix it, with no such luck. Hopefully I will be back soon. But seriously, I will still be around on the forums; if you guys want to talk even more, please PM me here and I will gladly give you my MSN address so we can keep in touch.
  15. [hide] I analyzed a few samples of my writing, with varied results. A non-fantasy piece of fiction compared me to Stephen King; a fantasy piece compared me to J. K. Rowling; a RuneScape short story I had written compared me to Annie Rice (not only does this comparison not make sense, I'm a little worried that they didn't even spell the author's name -- Anne -- correctly.)[/hide] I slipped back into my (bad) habit of re-reading books. Currently re-reading Michael Crichton's The Lost World for the Nth time.

    1. Your blog music is epic. KINGDOM HEARTS FTW.   2. I'm so totally jealous that you went to France. The pictures are awesome; that spice stall looks to die for!
  17. Ref: 164-165-906-61439342 And sorry, looks as if it was Mod Maz, not Emilee.
  18. Actually, it's confirmed that the old way NO LONGER works. You HAVE to be in building mode building stuff now. This was confirmed by Mod Emilee on RSOF.
  19. Finished reading Alice in Wonderland and Looking-Glass today -- Lewis Carroll was definitely barking mad. Today I read Infected by Scott Sigler - this book was awesome; it's the first novel that I've ever had to stop reading momentarily, on account of it making me start to feel nauseous! (Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of blood in this book  ) If you're into horror/thriller/sci-fi, I definitely suggest looking into this book. I got about two hours of sleep due to wanting to finish the whole book in one sitting. :P No idea what to read now; truth be told, I'm a bit exhausted from reading 4 books in three days.
  20. Saying 150 new items implies 150 new items. It doesnt imply 6 of the same item with a slightly different use. I totally understand OP's frustration, but ive learned over the years never to take jagex updates at face value, there is a lot of over hyping and you will be let down. Kinda just depends on what you understood it to mean; I personally always thought there would be duplicate items, just like the pre-existing reward items (5 Bob shirts? 5 Boaters? 10, 5-piece sets of armour? I assumed that the trend would continue over to these new ones, which it did.) And technically still, these items never existed before, so they are all still "new."
  21. I never expected the new reward items to be entirely unique.
  22. You should look into a novel called In The Woods by Tana French. Also, I would suggest reading (if you haven't already) pretty much any and all novels by the late Michael Crichton.
  23. Serpent Eye replied to Sam's topic in Off-Topic
I've only heard of them due to their epic song Wake Up that was used in the movie Where The Wild Things Are. They have a cool sound. :)
  24. Finished reading Peter Pan yesterday -- it wasn't at all what I had expected, but it was still a rather interesting book. It was rather a whole lot... darker than I expected it to be, and the character of Peter Pan himself is much more disturbed that I had ever imagined him to be. After finishing Pan, I started reading Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There. I finished Wonderland today, and am nearly through with reading Looking-Glass. I have decided that Lewis Carroll must have been under the influence of some sort of drug when writing these books (especially the latter) as it is full of INSANE things; my brain feels like it's melting as I'm reading it.
