Arguably, current affairs can often be just as bleak.

For some reason unbeknownst to me, I am fascinated with the French Revolution.
  4. Lol, really? I was planning on reading Dracula, but maybe I won't bother. One man's trash is another man's treasure? -- perhaps you'll end up liking it more than I. I'm used to more modern vampire fiction (see: Anne Rice) so it doesn't help that Dracula was published in 1897. :P I read almost all of Peter Pan last night; it's turning out to be a really good book!
  5. Oddly enough, these are the same methods we utilized to placate Cowman when things got a bit dicey on Crew... :-w
  6. I've just started reading J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan. From reading the introduction and short biography of the man, he sounds like a complete lunatic, but I'm looking forward to the craziness that came out of his mind and onto the page. Been a bit uninspired lately and couldn't select a book to read, so I'm resorting to going through my collection of classics -- however, I think it best to neglect reading the last remaining hundred pages of Dracula, lest I kill myself due to boredom and aggravation (reading the dialogue of Professor Van Helsing is like rubbing sandpaper onto my eyes.)
  7. I'm really not thrilled about all of these silly Dungeoneering updates. But I'm glad they haven't entirely lost focus on the rest of us players who don't care about Dungeoneering -- the new quest sounds cool, and I don't even like doing quests. :)

Well, like all memes I do think it's a bit overdone already... but seeing the reactions of people who've never seen the videos before is fun.
  12. In the nicest way possible, you look nothing like I thought you would. Post pics when you get your hair cut!

My mom is the only parent I had issues with. She was a very religious person when we were growing up, and it caused a constant battle between her and I; it peaked when I was seventeen, and the relationship has gotten better since then -- it's quite a normal mother/son relationship now, no awkwardness or hard feelings, really. Our past is in the past. My dad never really gave us any grief when we were growing up. Mom was always the stern one who disciplined us, Dad was the one we would goof off with and go to for a good laugh. (Not that our mom wasn't fun, my dad would just play random games with us and stuff.) With my dad, it's kind of the exact opposite as my mom -- our relationship started steadily declining when I was around twenty, and has been going downhill ever since. I no longer really talk to my dad except for when he calls me to tell me I owe him insurance money. He lives several hours away, and makes frequent visits to the city I live in, but he never bothers to call me and tell me that he'd like to say hi. His friends will see me at work and say things like, "Did you see your dad? He was in town yesterday," and I'm forced to say things like, "Nope, he didn't bother to tell me he was here." Mom  Dad
  15. that's like saying there's always spellcheck. Oh. I thought my TWSS face would have given it away that I was joking. It's kind of a morbid book, but still worth reading. It's a classic. Also, "Don't read this book" is very bad advice for someone to give, I think. You may not end up liking a certain book, but everyone's opinion varies, and you may end up loving a book someone else hates!
  16. Mememememememememe!!! Edit: She may not compare to all of these skanky pornstars that everyone is posting, but she is charming and has a beauty all of her own! That face is stunning I think :)
  17. Did someone say Charlize Theron? [hide][/hide] </trolling>
  18. The following article is from the July/August issue of the magazine Beckett Massive Online Gamer -- saw it while I was at the bookstore today, and thought I'd purchase it so I could share it with you guys. The news may be slightly outdated, but it's worth a shot. While I have transcribed the article from the magazine by hand, any spelling or grammatical errors are as they appear in the printed version.

  20. Luckily, most theaters still show the standard 35mm ("non-3D") versions of the film, so you shouldn't be forced to watch any film's 3D version if you don't want to.

  23. JK. But srsly. It would appear that there is a rumor going around that I have quit playing RuneScape. I am here to tell you today, folks, that this is NOT TRUE. (Pause for Boo's or Applause.) My laptop has slowly been dying, and one day Java randomly stopped working properly. I am able to log into RuneScape still, but it is incredibly slow-going, and messaging in PM or CC is nearly impossible to do. Moving around or trying to navigate my bank is also equally sluggish and impossible. Most days, I log in, become so mad at the lag, and promptly log out a minute or so later. So anyway, just passing the message along. If you happen to hear anyone in CC mention that I've quit or am quitting, please do me a favor and pass the word along that me and my banhammer are still alive and "kicking" (harhar, get it?!). Thanks, Serpy. TL;DR: I HAVEN'T QUIT

Today I had to write a statement for an ongoing investigation regarding one of my bosses being in deep [cabbage] at work. I got up to five, single-spaced pages and called it a night. :P
