  2. I must admit, I was a bit confused at first as to what you were all on about... Clarification came when I realized you were all talking about playing in High Detail (HD) mode! No difference whatsoever is seen in Standard Detail (SD) mode! I always play in SD, and had to switch over into HD to see what the effect looks like. Which leads to the question... how exactly could Jagex go about implimenting a day/night system as everyone is describing, that would function in both SD and HD modes? If they made certain monsters appear more frequently at night, such as Muggers, and others appear less-frequently during the day, such as Vampires, it would be awefully confusing if you were playing in Standard Detail mode! Day would look no different than night, and you would be confused as to why you kept getting attacked my the sudden overload of Muggers. The same applies to making monsters more tough/higher levels at night time. You would be wondering why the same exact skeletons you were fighting several hours ago have gotten tougher all of the sudden... I think it's a really cool effect, once I saw it! I do believe that the change in question was just to add to the holiday atmosphere, but it would be interesting to see a day/night side of the game added! My oldest RS friend and I used to have wild discussions, clear back in RS2, about how they should add a nighttime to the game, and you should be able to turn into a werewolf if you were bitten by one... Here's hoping for a cool change, and that Jagex could manage to figure it all out!
  3. I'm assuming your character is around level 60-65? You didn't specify how many HP you had, so I don't know for sure what your CB level is. Assuming that you're roughly CB 60-65, I think you should be good. It all just depends on if you're F2P, P2P, and what armor/weapon you have equipped on them... These are the stats of my F2P PKer: I seem to fare alright on her! Course, it'll be easier once I get full rune... At any rate, good luck!
  4. Power. This is the only amulet my F2P character has. The only one a F2P character needs!
  5. One more guild. Farming, pl0x
  6. Aren't all holiday items basically useless? Santa hat... bunny ears... scarves... they don't really do anything... Regardless of if you're F2P or P2P, it was a fun little holiday event, and a nice break from day-to-day gameplay that we all experience day-in and day-out.
  7. Take a look at the Mime Event topic started by LinovUSA. Several players give locations/skills that seem to trigger the Mime event more frequently than others, such as burrying bones in the SoS, high alching, etc. Of course, I don't know if there's any validity in this... just a suggestion to check it out. I personally have only got the mime event twice since it came out, and with that, I got the Mime mask, Mime boots, Glass box and Glass wall emotes. Don't remember where I was, or what I was doing, at those times though! Good luck on your Mime hunting!
  8. o.O I second that motion! Not passing out from sleep exhaustion > Runescape.
  9. I've recently planted over 400 watermelon seeds with super compost and using magic secateurs. Only two harvests had less than 15 melons.. Melon King!
  10. I believe your memory is just fine... The last patch I harvested, I received around 8 or so, this is with Supercompost and Magic Secateurs. Of course, I was lazy and paid the farmer to watch over it for me... maybe this affects the yield o.O But I've certainly never picked 30 from one patch before...
  11. Welcome back to RS, first of all! Funny, isn't it, how no matter the length of the break, you always end up coming back to the game... I'm not the best one to give advice on how to make millions of gold in the game, as that isn't my first concern when I play. But I can tell you that it is very easy to get distracted in the game. When you're a returning player, especially after a break as long as yours, I'm sure it's a bit overwhelming with the updates in front of you. I know most people have a tendency to be all star-struck, "Ooo, look at this!" and "Ooo, something shiny over here!" and sooner or later, when you had just intended to work on Mining for a while, you're deep in the bowels of some cave, doing some quest you never intended on starting. I would personally suggest doing a quest or two -- my approach is to tackle all of the Easy quests, move on to doing all the Medium ones, etc. etc. This might help you get back into the game more, instead of hopelessly wandering around the world. Beating up honorable Paladins is always good though... Feel free to add me in-game if you have any questions or need advice. I'll do my best to help you out! RSN: Serpent_Eye (And my deepest sympathies... R.I.P. Coal Certs. :( )
  12. Thank you all for the additional suggestions! I gave a go at Slayer, and had some fun for a while... sadly, I got bored after I finished killing 93 Ogres, only to have Vannaka tell me to go kill 63 more >.> I finished it still, and then got assigned Pyrefiends. I'll get around to them eventually... I've never fought one before, so I don't know what to expect from them. :? I also said "What the heck!" to myself and bought a Dragon axe, and I've been working on my WC and FM recently. It's a nice change from things. I have recently been having more fun due somewhat to the fact that my friend and I have been playing on our F2P PKers in PvP worlds. I honestly have PKed once or twice since discovering RS in 2001, so I never really knew what PKing was like. And it's quite fun, even if F2P characters are somewhat limited compared to members. It was also really nice to do all of the F2P quests again. We (my friend and I) were both flooded with memories of when we first started out playing, and it really reminded me of why I love the game so much! Again, thank you all for the suggestions!
  13. It's "kill or be killed," and frankly, I'll do anything to survive. I really think people only believe in a "code" because they want to justify their anger at dying... If someone were winning in a fight, they wouldn't complain about their use of food, pots, or prayers. It only becomes a problem for the loser. :/ Just my opinion.
  14. Well said!
  15. Thanks :] I have done Slayer for a while, but like I said earlier, I'm not the biggest fan of combat... but I'll give it a go again, thanks! Well, I really enjoy farming. It's really relaxing to me. And I just recently got into Hunter, which is pretty fun for me. As far as mini-games, I've tried Star hunting a few times, and it's really fun. The only problem for me is, most of my RS friends have stopped playing, and I'm down to about one >.> I don't really have a circle of friends who go out and do CW, etc. At least I'm not alone! Thank you! I've tried setting a goal for getting 99 in a skill, but 1) I can't decide which skill, and 2) it's such a daunting task >_< *** Thanks, everyone!
  16. I first started playing RS around 2001, I believe, and am a great lover of the game. However, lately, I find that whenever I log in, I get bored after about five minutes or so. On the odd day, I'll power through one or two quests, and then log out shortly afterwards. If I am ever logged on for a greater period of time, it's spent staring at my banked items, or standing around in G. E. looking at the prices of random items. I fear that I'm stuck in a nasty rut! I was hoping that someone might have fun suggestions on how to keep the game fresh! I really don't like combat too much; I enjoy working on skills far better. My stats are in my signature, and as you might be able to see, none of them is too high. I usually work on one skill for about half-an-hour, and move on to another one. (I honestly don't see how people can work one one skill for hours upon hours.) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm going crazy staring at my bank!! Thank you!
  17. I am in my life and I'm playing Runescape... I have a full-time management job, and I spend my free-time doing things I enjoy: mostly reading, but I also enjoy writing, watching movies, toying around on the net, talking to my penpals online, and playing Runescape. I don't think playing this game has taken away anything from my "real" life.
  18. Haven't heard from my friend Bleed Blue in years and years. He was one of the first friends I made when I started playing. :|
  19. I do agree that the Uri clues are a bit aggravating at times. (I have a seperate tab in my bank devoted to armor/weapons that Uri requires you to wear. This way, I don't have to go buy new one every time). I do also agree with you when you talk about how it takes more time/effort to get it finished then it used to, and the energy put into it vastly outweighs the outcome/rewards. However, you just have to remember, you will eventually get a really cool item, and it'll make up for all your frustration.
  20. I didn't mean to imply that Necromancy should be a brand new skill in itself. Even if it was just an update or expansion of the Summoning skill, I definently think it would be awesome (summoning your own Skeletons and Zombies, and maybe eventually being able to resurrect fallen comrades.) In response to sup3rpur's post, I personally don't think that naval battles would be a cool update. RuneScape has a... how to put it... era-less feel to it? You can't point at it and say that's pre-1800's, or whatever. It leaves it up for interpretation as to what time-period the game is in. If they added naval battles, I think it would just weaken the game, and make it seem like any other game out there (aka, Civilization, etc.) Just my thoughts... apparently everyone is keen on Sailing :/
  21. I don't understand what the point of sailing would be. Sure, they could tie it in with Crafting and Construction, and you could make your own boat. The higher your level, the bigger the boat, and you could eventually put furniture into the Captain's quarters, etc.. But what would the point be? To sail around? That's essentially all you could do. I think the coolest bit of it would be that you could transport yourself to whatever land you wanted. But I see that being the end of the skill... I envision people just... aimlessly sailing around for hours and hours... Hm... but everyone seems so keen on it! Curious.
  22. I think Necromancy would be a cool skill - the darker side to summoning. Summoning doesn't seem that interesting to me, but I would definently get into Necromancy.
