  1. This event was shockingly short! I killed four turkeys, and received the Emote and Cornicopia. But the emote is so cool!
  2. Infinity Tab: Gold, tools, items for current quests, main armor set Tab 1: Runes tab (Rune essense, Runes, tiaras, teleport items [Ectophile, Games necklace, etc.]) Tab 2: "Green" tab (Seeds, harvests, herbs, pots and baskets, etc.) Tab 3: General tab (Books, logs, junk items) Tab 4: Costume/clothes tab (including rings and necklaces) Tab 5: Weapons tab (Melee and range, including arrows/bolts) Tab 6: Armor tab Tab 7: Food tab Tab 8: Odd-Skill tab (For any skill that I plan on working on for a while - Hunter at the moment.)
  3. Here, have a cookie. Pick up a dictionary next time before you lecture people on the basics of English. If English is so easy to learn, as you claim it is, perhaps you wouldn't make simple spelling mistakes like "subtilities" and "writting." I never went so far as to imply that I was somehow "better" than anyone because my language is hard to learn. This idea is something you made up in your mind. I simply expressed my opinion. You may not agree with it, but that doesn't give you the right to call me arrogant and to tell me to get my head out of my [wagon]. Grow up.
  4. Picking up words easily doesn't mean that the language is easy to learn... The syntax is the difficult part. The rules of English grammar make no sense when compared to the simplicity of romance languages - French, Spanish, etc. Brazil contains the world's majority of Portuguese-speaking peoples. On top of that, it is the only Portuguese-speaking country in North and South America. Perhaps this is what influenced them in their decision to use the Brazilian flag..? I think population may also have played a part - Portugal is home to roughly 10M people, while Brazil is home to over 190M.
  5. You may want to consider getting your prayer up first, at least to 43 - this way, you're able to use all of the Protection prayers - beneficial for getting that 99 Str. Otherwise, doing nicely :]
  6. English is far from easy to learn... it is one of the hardest languages to pick up, in fact.
  7. Yes. They would. Regardless, it is against the rules to use such programs, even if people don't "notice it."
  8. I'm pretty sure that no matter what world you're on, the location of the penguin doesn't change. (Like the Circus event.) Also, the location of the penguin changes on a weekly basis. You can also ask Larry in the Ard zoo for a hint as to the current location. I don't know how useful a list would be... since it changes weekly... but there IS a CC devoted to penguin hunting, I believe. Penguin W60 if I'm not mistaken...?
  9. I take myself to the G.E., pull up a guide, see what items I need for the quest, buy any that I don't have in my bank, and then close the guide. I find questing enjoyable - it's a nice break from the repetativeness of skilling. I just don't like to teleport around like crazy having to buy all the items in the middle of the quest!
  10. I'm unsure if this is a faster way to do it, but I've read that the Brimhaven Agility Arena is a good place to train between levels 40-50. If you keep your HP below 20, you only take 2 points of damage from failing the traps. Not only do you get experience from the obstacles themselves, but you can also exchange your tickets for additional experience points. Best of luck!
  11. Haha... this is somewhat amusing to me, because I played D2 for yeeeears. Diablo 2 was really repetative.... for instance: Baal runs, Cow runs, Diabo runs, etc. You simply logged onto a server, found a Baal run game, logged in, killed Baal... logged out of that game... went and found a new game to kill Baal in... etc. etc. etc. PKing was the same way: run out of the town, cast your traps and spells, etc., kill or be killed... run out of the town... cast your traps... etc. It doesn't matter how "dynamic" the bosses in the game are. It's ALL repetative if you look at it objectively. Honestly, from a stict graphics stand-point, there's handsdown no comparison. Games like D2 and WoW are FAR superior graphics-wise. Even with the new addition of HD modes, Runescape is still run off of a text-based program (Java.) It's really unfair to compare the graphics of these games. Even with that being said, I really don't think the majority of players find the gameplay to be hampered by the graphics in Rune. In fact, I'm still playing in Standard mode. Yes, HD mode is far superior, but I much prefer the simplicity of the Standard mode. (Ugggh, I really want to play D2 now... I miss my druid.) Edit: I don't mean to sound offensive, btw. :-# I just think it's interesting..
  12. Here's an interesting topic: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=770082. If you're interested, it seems like a lot of Runecape players would actually Cosplay as Runescape characters. But I totally agree that no one would dress up in RS gear at a Blizzard convention... :P Since it's not a Blizzard game. But that's beside the point. I actually enjoy playing Runescape more than I do playing such "stunning" beauties such as Fable 2, and Elder Scrolls. To me, graphics have no part in what makes a game enjoyable. You should try playing a MUD - they're all text-based RPGs, with no graphics whatsoever. People who usually bash on RS are people who tried making characters, and could never really get good at the game :] * * * As far as the O.P. goes, just ignore them. Instead of fighting about RS vs. WoW, maybe strike up a conversation about a different, less controversial topic!
  13. Yeah :? If you instantly get to 99s, then you're stuck... and you can't advance any... and you may as well quit the game! Taking things slowly just means that I have more time to play and enjoy the game.
  14. I pay on a monthly basis, but generally, your renewed yearly subscription doesn't start until your current year ends. So I think you'll be safe for another 76 days, and then your new year will start.
  15. I think the last time I powertrained was years ago when I was F2P, and really got into mining. I had a character devoted to nothing but mining, and I would sit at the Rimmington mine all day and mine/drop iron. I don't really do it nowadays... I don't think. I really got into Hunter a while back. I got to level 40 or so in around a day. Is this considered powertraining? Or is this just really getting into a skill? #-o Anyways! As far as other people go, I don't really see anything wrong with it. Everyone has their own methods of getting levels. To me, powertraining and even "buying" skills is no different than my taking ages to get levels in a skill. If anything, people who powertrain are smarter, because they get to their desired level quicker! It's just not for me, I guess. I like taking time to achieve my goal.
  16. What do you do on the game? The average day for me can only be described as "random!" I don't usually set goals for myself, unless I need to get required stats for a quest I want to do. Otherwise, I just do things as they come to me. If I get the urge to work on Farming, I'll go farm for a while. It could be two minutes later, or two hours later, but I may suddenly get the urge to go work on another skill. I'll drop what I'm doing, and run off to work on that skill. I've never really understood how people are able to work on one skill for days on end. To me, this would make the game horribly boring for me! I don't care if I reallllly want 99 in a skill: I am not going to stand in one spot for two weeks. I would quit the game out of boredom! What do you find more important: high skills or fun? FUN! To me, the whole point of any game, online or not, is to have fun. I simply enjoy walking around in the game, taking in the sites. I've always been this way, especially with Runescape. One of my in-game friends seems to think that I'm crazy for being this way... he thinks that money and high skills need to be important factors to me. Honestly, I could log onto the game, find all of my money gone, and not really care all that much. Yes, it would be annoying to lose it all, but honestly... it's just money. I have more fun randomly deciding to make an inventory of Garden pies, or walking out to the Wilderness, intending on training on Green dragons, and suddenly changing my mind, and walking all the way back to Varrock! I really don't care if I have high skills or not. I'll admit it: my highest skill is 74. Wow. Not that high. But I really don't care! I have fun in the game, and that's all that matters to me. When was the last time you had fun on Runescape? I generally have fun every time I play! Sure, I might get bored on the odd occassion, but I always end up finding something to do. As of late, though, I've been having a wicked fun time playing Stealing Creation! I just recently was introduced to Pest Control - and then SC came out, and my mind was blown away! If you had to classify me, I'm most definently a skiller - this mini-game, even with all of the bugs, is amazing fun! I spent three straight days playing it after it came out.
  17. Magic serves me no purpose other than making travel easier. I don't recall ever having used it in combat. To me, I would be fine if they didn't provide any more updates to the skill. Good read though!
  18. Well, technically Samhain falls on November 1st, not October 31st. If you want to get technical. But at any rate. Most people assume that "New Years" is referring to the... well, new year, aka January 1st. But anyways... You'll wake up one day and find that vandalising people's property is not only a crime, it is the exact definition of "developmentally delayed."
  19. Try talking to Phantuwti Fanstuwi Farsight again.
  20. Very true! There seems to be a trend going on: if you were helped out by people when you first started playing the game, you yourself tend to help other new players out! So many people helped me out when I first started playing the game (and sadly, none of them play any longer) and it's nice to put some good energy of mine into the game!
  21. I'm just curious as to why you'd want to stop at 20 Attack, rather than 40 for Rune? Or why, for that matter, do you want to only get your character to 30-40 combat? :|
  22. Can't really judge if you have no experience doing it yourself. I personally would feel more mature in a costume than I would egging houses or blowing mailboxes up... that stuff is just childish. And you can't really compare Cosplay to dressing up for Halloween... They aren't the same thing just because both involve costumes. Edit: Nor are Halloween and New Years the same holiday... it makes no sense comparing those two, either.
  23. My skill levels aren't that great (no skill above 74 :?) but I've never made less than 50K points per game. My strategy may be a selfish one, but at this point in the game, there isn't really a sense of being a team. It's every man for himself until Jagex works a bit of tactics into it. It's kind of lengthy to describe, but this is essentially what I do every game: 1. Instantly go to a Fragment spot. While running towards the Fragment, I scout for the highest level spot in the vacinity. For the examples sake, let's say I see a Class 3 Tree in the distance. 2. Get one Class 1 clay. 3. Run to a Processing Kiln. Make the appropriate tool for the high-level spot I found earlier; in this case, I'll make a Class 1 Hatchet. 5. Run to the Class 3 Tree, and get one Class 3 Clay. 6. Run to a Processing Kiln. Make the appropriate tool for the spot I'm at; in this case, I'll make a Class 3 Hatchet. 7. Run back to the Class 3 Tree. Harvest a full inventory of Class 3 Clay. 8. When inventory is full, hit up a Processing Kiln and make one type of every other tool available. So for example, I'll use three of my Class 3 Clay to make a Class 3 Pickaxe, Harpoon, and Butterfly Net. 9. Turn the rest of my Clay into either Arrows or Runes. 10. Run back to the Class 3 Tree, harvest another full invo. Back to Kiln, and turn them all into Arrows or Runes, which ever you made earlier. Rinse and repeat. 11. If the spot you're at runs out of Clay, you can now run to any other higher-level spot, because you've already previously made all the tools needed. This way, you're using only 4 inventory slots (1 Tool is equipped, 3 are in your invo, and your Arrows or Runes take up a slot.) This leaves 24 inventory slots open to fill with clay. I simply run back and forth making Arrows/Runes the whole game. If I get wind that a high-level person from the opposing team is approaching, I'll deposit my Arrows/Runes at the base, so I don't lose them should I die. Once the "One Minute Remaining" notice flashes, I stop what I'm doing, hit up a Processing Kiln for the last time, convert them into Arrows/Runes, and book it to the base. Unequip your tool, and deposit everything - everything! - you have: armor, weapons, tools, food, etc. This should ensure a good 40-50k points each game, as long as you use Class 3 and above clay to make your Arrows/Runes. It's not entirely selfish, I suppose, because all of the Rangers and Mages on my team use the items I make. Hope this help! Sorry if it's a lot to read through!
