Doesn't mean microtransactions aren't bad. It's not illogical. If you think logic even comes into this, you're really mistaken on the nature of ethics. It also doesn't mean microtransactions aren't bad. Doesn't mean microtransactions aren't bad. Not true. Who are you to decide what wrong reasons are anyway? Also it doesn't mean microtransactions aren't bad. Because we care? Unlike the people you say are too addicted to quit regardless of updates, we actually have an interest in keeping the game fun and interesting? Those people who stopped caring, who will take absolutely anything without complaint, aren't they the ones you mean by 'playing RS for the wrong reasons'? Those people who still have the energy to complain about what Jagex is doing are the only ones who actually care about the game. What you said also doesn't mean microtransactions aren't bad.

minning help
Let's say you take 15 hours to get the suit (not an unreasonable estimate from what I hear). You get 35k xp/hr and end up at 80 mining, 2m xp, with 11m to 99. Concentrated gold to 99 averages a bit over 90k xp/hr without the mining suit (chosen for convenience, should be fairly accurate). You'd spend 120 hours getting 99 mining without the suit. 117 hours with the suit (actually urns don't get boosted by the suit, nor do strange rocks or SoF lamps, so it's a little less). So the question is, could you get the 525k mining xp from Lava Flow faster than the 15 hours spent there minus the 3 hours saved getting 99 mining? That's the equivalent of ~43k xp/hr which is very easy to maintain at granite. On the other hand, the suit takes only about 6 hours to obtain (2-3 hours saved to 99 + 6-7 hours of xp). So if that's worth it to you...

Glacors - Void+Virtus Top or Full Virtus?
Right, that's what you get when adding numbers in a hurry. Shouldn't change the conclusions much (slight increase in melee dps advantage for void and slight increase in mage attack advantage for virtus), but fixed. By now you really ought to be familiar with my way of comparing rolls, you've asked about it before :P.

Charm collecting for 96 Summoning
I haven't hunted fiends for ages, not since goliaths at least, but last I checked 130/hr was a decent rate with 85 melees & maul in the Ancient Cavern. With goliaths, tokhaar, max stats etc. you can probably get that up to 150 or something, but 200+ requires a ton of goliath specs or a good combat familiar. I thought the 21% boost was applied regardless of the level of the spell you're casting?

... It'd help if you just posted what you think is wrong with it.

a few questions/numbers needed
~110 crims/hr I think, maybe 100. If you have void, that's probably better than Bandos, especially if you can't get tassets. Not sure on deflector vs. defender, but black demons aren't exactly tanky. Kalphites, about 40-50 blues/hr? I think bonfires are like manual burning but without the banking, so ~1200 logs/hr? Everything is the same as oak larders. If you hate butlering, you can build things in your dungeon for pure gp. It's really fast and really expensive. An alternative is looting zombie impling jars and running the bones. Also expensive and fast. EOC is scheduled for September-ish? Maybe October.

Glacors - Void+Virtus Top or Full Virtus?
That's not hard to imagine is it... the formula is 1 + attack bonus/64. The alternative is (attack bonus + 64)/64. Those numbers are the attack bonusus with the 64 base included. The /64 * level is the same for both, so they can be compared without doing the actual multiplying because I cba. If you want to know what equipment I used, I assumed: tokhaar, ragefire, arcstream, csb, wealth/imbued zerker (no mage attack anyway), cstaff. Sol might be better than cstaff but that's only +1 less anyway. For the Virtus setup, I assumed neit/barrows gloves.

Glacors - Void+Virtus Top or Full Virtus?
I know what the formula is, I can't find Obliv's thread to check the rounding though (even though I have it bookmarked). Wiki (sorry) doesn't list any rounding before attack bonus is multiplied into level, which would mean it doesn't really matter whether you compare effective attack bonus or attack roll. If it did round the (x+64)/64 part, you'd see accuracy in increments, being either 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5x level (5x would already require +256 attack bonus, that's possible at Nex I guess, pretty sure +320 is not possible).

new direction; dungeoneering, herblore, summoning
If you look at ways to train dungeoneering, you have: Tears of Guthix (60 xp/point) Penguin Points/random event lamps (25x/10x level respectively, 15x for Book of Knowledge) SoF lamps (crazy formula) JoT reward books/Troll Invasion (level^2 - 2*level + 100, 8x that for Invasion) Dragonkin lamps ((level^3 - 2*level^2 + 100*level) / 20) Dungeoneering (idk) Each scales differently with level. The higher your level, the better dungeoneering gets, the worse tears/pengs/randoms get.

I think that's a pretty bad reason to not care now... we know it's likely not important in twenty years, but that doesn't mean we should pretend we are the people we will be in twenty years. I don't know whether microtransactions will be the end of RS. But I do think it's better to remove them because they take away from the level playing field. Even cosmetic items are in a way part of the playing field. As such, telling people they are annoying (to you) when they buy stuff from Jagex is justified. It's just not very likely do accomplish anything. i disagree... Really the core of the truth is that everything in life, as far as importance, is relative to your situation. How is that in any way not compatible with my statement?

new direction; dungeoneering, herblore, summoning
Dungeoneering is just as critical to GWD, if not more, than unicorns, especially with 95 prayer taking care of some healing. Plus that it's probably easier to get a chaotic or two than charms for 88 summoning. In the long run, dungeoneering can be very profitable too by selling floors. GWD isn't as profitable, though Bandos holds up well with the armour useful now and in the beta.

Glacors - Void+Virtus Top or Full Virtus?
Except that you don't brew or use a unicorn at glacors... the only reason I use Virtus is in the slight hope it saves me from a ten-second game freeze with an icycle and exploding unstable (happens ever 30 mins approx).

96 - 99 strength
Money-wise, dragons are your friend. Xp-wise, chaotics are your friend. Training dungeoneering also provides strength xp. You do probably want to get 80 attack first if you take that route.

Glacors - Void+Virtus Top or Full Virtus?
They are not max rolls, but max roll equivalents, you need to multiply them with effective level, which should be the same in all cases. At the same level, attack bonus increases and void bonus increases can be compared, barring rounding which is pretty small at this scale. That's why it says 'about' everywhere.

Glacors - Void+Virtus Top or Full Virtus?
+137 str in max void. +201*1.1 = ~221 +146 str in max virtus. +210 (both ragefires, imbued berserker, fury, barrows gloves, tokhaar-kal) So void is a dps increase of about 5%. It's like a +11 strength switch for the price of two switches. Not spectacular but significant. Meanwhile magic: +48 mage attack in void. +112*1.3 = ~145 +116 mage attack in virtus. +180 So about 24% higher magic attack roll. The void mage effect is hypothetical of course. You do have quite a bit over 50% accuracy even in void. With the base +80 hit, you have a max hit of up to 995 or something. That means about 80/(915/2 + 80)th, let's say 8/50 or 16% of your dps is accuracy-indepentant. More if you use a staff of light. I don't know the accuracy for void mage, but I think it's probably 70% or a bit higher, where magic attack is starting to get less and less relevant. And of course, Ahrim's would have only +170 magic, so 17% higher magic attack roll. I wouldn't go calling void trash tier, as it performs pretty well, and it's very cheap since it's undegradeable.

Issues with slayer
The Taverly Dungeon entrance is west and a bit north of the piece of crumbled wall in west Falador. There's a wheat field just east of it, too. Ghosts are all over the place, try this for starters.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
The metagame for abilities currently isn't much more complicated than "spam this if x amount of adrenaline, spam that if y amount, ultimate, rinse, repeat". There aren't enough abilities to actually make a choice (you need 5 basic abilities to get up to tresholds. Magic has 6 iirc). PvP is quite interesting though, because your opponent also uses abilities. Imo it'd be much better if Jagex would allow us to create abilities rather than making them themselves. Players are far better at creating abilities for every niche than Jagex because Jagex doesn't know 90% of the niches.

Glacors - Void+Virtus Top or Full Virtus?
Void melee is great though. Magic accuracy isn't all that valuable on glacors, and I doubt Ahrim's is much better than void. Void does require additonal switches (barrows gloves/deflector/melee helm/fury/rapier for void gloves/csb/mage helm/arcstream/sol).

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
Tripling is not enough. And 95 prayer is hardly a requirement. It's not at all useful for pathing, for example, where you take damage without dealing any (also means no food drops). As for the farming > pray/herb > mh cycle, it's the natural cycle in RS at the moment. You have to do something without cash to make cash, and the thing that requires the least cash to get up to an acceptable gp/hr happens to be farming (and MTK etc.).

barrows equip
Ganodermic is a bit expensive recharge-wise, zerkers > seers, neit > mage helm, korasi > eee for faster Akrisae. Use void if you have it. You don't need mage attack. If you want to use ROW, bring a switch.
