  1. This, pretty much. Even if you had trouble remembering 20-digit bogus answers (random password generator), writing them down in your diary/notebook/whatever is probably a fair bit more secure unless your particular hacker has access to your bedroom. In which case you probably have other things to worry about.
  2. Ahh, I see. Isn't the habitat good for other exp(farm) though too? It's good for some extra farming xp if you farm herbs anyway. Otherwise, the farming/herblore xp is insignificant compared to the hunter xp (in therms of % of the max rate). I suppose there could be bots farming herbs though.
  3. I believe it does the same thing on range and melee. It increases chance to crit. I think, not sure, but I think Latin told me he didn't test for melee/range max hits like he did with mage because crits apparently doesn't seem to work that way for range and melee.
  4. You'll get there first, 600k fishing noty.
  5. Summoning a full-power combat skill? Me like <3:.
  6. Dungeoneering is slow at low levels, doubly so in f2p. Worse than runecrafting atm I think. If you want to dungeoneer to get a higher level (62+ for example) I would recommend doing it in p2p. If that's not an option, there should be some f2p dungeoneering clans about, Dragoons? iirc, not sure.
  7. D&D you say. How's that progressing so far? Well, there's totally nothing going on there. So far :/. Also, got 95 mining, two more for 95+ and 3? more for 9m+ xp in all skills.
  8. Hood is a good third bind, and because it's semi-rare, people bound it before 100, because it's also a passable second bind. If you are closing in on 100 and you aren't terribly unhappy with hood right now, you might as well keep it. But there's no shame in breaking it for plate and getting gaunts/efs/maybe platelegs at 100. Those aren't terribly useful though (compared to hex/bn, or even hood).
  9. Torstols tend to require the best boosts available. Naturally you farm everything with supercompost and secateurs, and juju always helps a ton, but torstols require greenfingers or remote farming to be the best. That said, a 50 herb run is about 240k profit right now, 50 herbs + 1 seed is about 550k profit. You can average roughly 9-9.5 herbs including deaths, about 10-10.5 without (greenfingers counters disease on the first growth cycle, pretty much).
  10. You don't have to I think, you can use 'copy to book' or w/e it's called without carrying the book with you.
  11. Originally, it held 10 items and banked a random item in your inventory, so... A pack yak banks 150 items per hour (+5 from starting with a full spec bar initially). That, along with the increased capacity, saves you, depending on how many inventory items you have, 4-6 bank trips, per hour, compared to using a, tortoise (this sentence is approved of by the comma society).
  12. Quyneax replied to J L 1's topic in Help and Advice
Bandos has higher ranged defence than Torag's, more prayer bonus, more strength bonus, and the tank prays protect from melee anyway. Bandos is superior to Torag's, no matter your stats.
  13. We shall now return to our regular updates of top players, their achievements and current activities and other interesting trivia related to the topic of 200m xp in (a large number of) skills. We shall not discuss the moral/ethical or health aspects of this. Thank you.
  14. Each boss has an element of challenge in them. At tormented demons, it's the switching, titan management, luring etc. For Nex, it's avoiding the specials. For Dagannoth Kings, it's about luring, managing aggressiveness and conserving supplies as much as possible. For the QBD, it's avoiding the specs, much like Nex. For the Kiln, it's about luring, aggro, prayer switching, switching, titan management etc. For GWD, it's about getting as much offensive power as possible into that 20 seconds every two minutes to steal the kill. If you remove some or all of these elements, you break down the boss and it becomes a slayer monster. Dagannoth Kings are almost there already, but still reasonably challenging to tribrid - great boss design, that it can grow with so many game updates and still be good. GWD hasn't aged nearly as well because it's much more about raw power, and the bosses have never been updated. I think the key element of GWD, the one thing that makes (Graardor at least) difficult to kill consistently, is the competition. Removing that takes away the boss and puts a relatively boring, unprofitable random mob in its place, much like the KBD. @The argument that Bandos is overpriced: compared to the xp needed to get 98-99 strength, it's actually pretty cheap.
  15. Agility is a good one if you want taskmaster or Fremennik elite.
  16. [hide] Except it's "high level" because it was made 5 years ago when the amount of maxed players was a fraction of what it is today, not because it's challenging. There's a difference between outdated and difficult. How does it matter that it's not challenging? You need to be a high level to do it effectively. So just train you stats like everything else. Stop feeling entitled. But mid level players can do it just fine if they didn't have to out-compete high level players. That's the issue. High level players have the ability to lock mid level players out (instead of simply doing higher level content like nex etc) Yeah, exactly. Mid levels can't do the stuff higher level players can do because their stats aren't good enough. The solution is to train. In my opinion it is poor game design that the high levels can so effectively exclude other players. Competition is important in an mmo, but I think the current status of the GWD is poor. I am not sure what the correct system is, except that it should allow mid levels to have some chance. [/hide]GWD is high-level content because of the competition with other players, as well as the current prices of the drops. Right now, you need max stats to pull even a modest gp/hr (compared to Kiln, QBD etc.). If the drops were more expensive (with the same competition), lower-levelled players would be able to make a decent amount of money there even with their much lower kph. If the competition was less (with the same price), lower-levelled players would be able to get higher kph and make a decent amount. Of course, increasing price increases competition and reduced competition reduces price, if the drop rate stays the same. So the above scenarios are simply not realistic. I think it's better to keep GWD the way it was designed, basically a brute force contest. Kiln/QBD/Dks/tds/glacors/Nex can be the good bosses, with interesting mechanics. Limiting an area to low levels will only create more pure builds (overload, turm, chaotics/claws/torva, 80 hp/def, no summoning = 116 combat for example).
  17. So it's +12 for odd levels, +14 for even levels, and -30/-60/-70 for water/earth/fire respectively... I don't get it.
  18. At your level, summoning, slayer and agility are all horridly slow, agility the most, but it's really not very useful compared to summoning. If you want to get total levels long-term, agility might be best, but on the medium-short term higher summoning will speed up combat, therefore slayer, effigy & cash gain, so it might actually be better to use it on summon long-term as well (depending on how you train).
  19. Draconics are only like 100 apm if you hunt them efficiently. That's not too bad (compared to the 200+ apm you can get in pvp). But yeah I hope this D&D won't end up dead content.
  20. If a choice occurs every tick, it should average out sooner, no :P? I otherwise agree with you of course.
  21. I'm guessing you mean 10m? Ganos don't have that much magic defence so you can afford to focus on cheap gear (not much degrade cost, bit of prayer bonus) like Ahrim's with Akrisae's hood. Inventory wise, just bring overloads and prayer potions to last however long you prefer, more than 2 hours is a bit of a stretch though (flasks probably barely worth it, if at all). Use a wolpertinger instead of overloads if you can. SoA is better if you want mage/slayer xp, otherwise I'm not 100% sure the cost is worth it.
  22. It's nice to know there will be big security/anti-cheating updates soon. But you only need about three sentences to tell people that. The crap about microtransactions is basically saying: it's here to stay, be glad we don't RWT even more".
  23. Yes you do :P. Sounds... underwhelming. Compared to Fish Flingers, which are about 2/3 the max rate. Maybe if I find pernix under the next rock I mine, I'll try Nex :P. Other than that I really have no business doing pvm :/.
  24. Over 10k xp/hr? No, you can't :P. Also, 9001 posts.
  25. Prayer renewal potions can be very very cheap (if not profitable) xp.
