  1. Granite is the fastest xp at your level up to 80.
  2. Not in f2p, but in p2p there's some devastating spells (ice barrage, vengeance, polypore staff).
  3. You can kill glacors with fire wave, but the max hit reduction from 280 to 200 means you will kill roughly 20% slower, and you won't be able to kill unstable last as easily. The profit would be lower too - assuming 1 of each boot and 100 shards per 1k kills (+5k per kill from rune items), you get about 70k loot per kill. With fire wave you'd be looking at 40-45 kph with steel titan/turmoil/overload/rapier. About 3m loot/hour max. Without steel titan, ~35 kph, without turmoil/rapier, 30ish? Costs are probably 300-400k/hr in runes, prayer potions, familiar scrolls and such. 92 prayer is for healing. 95 is better because you will be able to melee the glacytes (SoA is a bit expensive). Without 92 prayer you will need to be closer to perfect with prayer switching and evading specials, and you'll need a healing familiar or eee + some food. Since iron/steel titans save 5-15 seconds per kill each time, giving them up for a unicorn is rather expensive. Glacors are a good way to train magic starting at 88 with overloads. Before that, barraging rock lobsters or skeletons.
  4. Right now I think the whole of dungeoneering is going to face a lot of legacy issues. I mean it's going to be brutal trying to make it out of dungeons without massive deaths if you don't got armor bound and even then with a plate bound its still going to be hell... I wonder if they'll scale back the room spawns or give out more binds earlier in the game. They are really going to have to work on dungeoneering... I dont know what to say. Maybe we'll get a sort of bind synergy, if you bind 2 armour pieces of the same class, you get free boots or gloves, 3 of the same class, free boots + gloves or helmet etc.
  5. 45 def is 5 higher than you need for f2p but it works in p2p for berserker helmets. 60 attack is 15 higher than you need for f2p, you'd rather have those in strength for KO, but again worth it in p2p. Magic is too low for p2p. Overall I think you'll want a bit higher ranged level to pk with ranged, because atm you're fighting people with ~90 ranged at the same combat level due to your attack/strength.
  6. Instakill darts... will they work on QBD? Because that's going to save me a headache there. Also Sunfreet and Kiln :D.
  7. Quyneax replied to justicei's topic in Help and Advice
At 60 defence, upgrade to dragon skirt/legs and boots, as well as obsidian shield (may require 60 str, not sure). There is a great helmet at 55 defence which requires the Fremmenik Isles quest. Culinaromancer gloves are the best, they require Recipe for Disaster. I'd work on 70 str after 60 def, at 130 total attack + str you can get a dragon defender which is pretty strong. Barrows-wise, Verac's is great all-round (top/legs only). Dharok's is great if you're protect praying, but it's a bit more advanced than regular equipment as you need to keep your lp at 1 safely.
  8. If you can, get void. It will take more time than you save on ranged, but it's useful in a lot of places afterwards. Other than that, replace accumulator with Soul Wars cape or similar, as +5 ranged attack is really not worth it compared to +12 prayer.
  9. I liked the agility element/race from the Games. Of course, 30k free agility xp helps :D.
  10. Afaik familiars train as normal, providing hp xp and dps skill xp at a 1:3 ratio.
  11. That's weird... but alright I guess. In that case brews are just really expensive concentrated healing that's annoying to use... I'm pretty sure the concept behind the change is that rocktails require a higher level than brews, so they heal more. No real balance issues Jagex thought of. Imagine a situation where you need a ton of healing, but spread out over a longer time, and you also need to camp for ages. Any situation spring to mind? They simply don't exist. You made up a niche, it's a workable idea in a sense, but there's no economic sense in spending so much money when you can just bank and use rocktails instead.
  12. 500x6 doses is 3k health, which is far more than the 1800 rocktail. Any more and the burst healing would be far too high. Drinking 6 doses of brew quickly reduces your stats to about 50 (from overloaded stats) taking 1-2 minutes to go back up unless you drink 2 super restore doses. You don't just need 10 brew flasks, you need 10 brew flasks and 2-3 super restore flasks + the ability to use overloads to heal fully. Not to mention that drinking so many potion doses will come at a cost in attack speed because you stop attacking when you spambrew.
  13. If you have x strength bonus, another y strength bonus will be a dps increase equal to y/(x+64) apart from rounding. With Bandos, rapier, dragon boots etc. you quickly reach ~140 strength bonus, so another +4 strength is typically 2% more melee dps. Blisterwood weapons are altogether not worth it apart from the Morytania task set.
  14. Use all your charms if you can get 88 summoning, other than that the choice is between overloads and turmoil - which is better depends largely on what you do combat-wise. Turmoil is a larger melee dps increase.
  15. Everybody knows Seeker fletches broad arrows between prayer switching at Jads because the lower apm compared to gulega confuses him :D.
  16. Adding rare (achievement) items such as max/comp cape, golden scythe etcetera. But I'm guessing you won't be able to get those :P. Personally I don't think that outfit really fits together. The book, gloves and boots are altogether the wrong colours for the top and legs. I would suggest getting either the xp-boosting sets (gold mining, lumberjack and such) or hybrid equipment.
  17. There's no need to keep bumping a topic unless it has left the first page :). I have no clue on what causes this, but just to be sure: did you try switching graphics mode (DirectX, OpenGl, standard, safe mode), browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE) and updating Java?
  18. I wouldn't play either minigame for prayer xp. But let's say you're getting hybrid armour or whatever, the xp/hr in prayer, for you, is roughly 21k for Soul Wars and 19k for Pest Control assuming 100% wins and 25 and 2.5 minutes per game respectively (veteran boat), and assuming you spend points 100 at the time. By contrast, you need to hunt and altar roughly 90 regular or 40 frost dragons to get a superior xp rate, not counting extra combat xp and hide drops gained.
  19. That's what every other battlestave crafter ever said :P (including me). But, given that 99 crafting is only useful when you're maxing anyway, you pretty much have until 2450 total before you need to start worrying about that.
  20. ^ he needs it more. I appreciate it but the 680/day is a good pace for me, I won't get bored of that or feel like I'm spending too much. It's great :D.
  21. I would very highly recommend setting aside 10m for crafting. Just buy 600 battlestaves per day from the GE plus some from Zaff's shop, and you got ~90k xp per day at a low price. It's a very relaxed and cheap way to train crafting at a steady pace - you'll be 99 in about 120 days, give or take.
  22. I would get the gilded altar, mostly for ease of use. With a crystal saw and +1 boost from tea, you can already build one, so it's just the cost of the altar itself you need to be worried about. Imo, it's quite worth it. And yes, as AHappySeeker aptly put it, rock lobs are worth it if you just want to grind summoning fast. Slayer is better if you want a high slayer level, waterfiends if you want melee xp etc. but for pure summoning, lobs.
  23. Consider this: Money can make money - merchanting with 13m is profitable. So there is a downside to using a dragon pickaxe. If you can merchant though, 13m probably shouldn't be a big part of your bank, unless you're just starting out. 13m coins isn't going to help you mine any faster. Dragon pickaxe is. If 13m is not a big part of your bank, or if you don't merchant, then you should be using a dragon pickaxe instead of rune.
  24. Snaps are pretty good too if you got an aura to help. @Sinkhan: totally worth it. I've mostly been farming and crafting when I can get on, up to ~20m cash w/ 200 bstaves atm. Steady 100k craft/day means I'll get 96 in 3-4 days. It's a really relaxed way to get 99. Being 110k from 94 agil (all 94s) and 1 warp from reset, so those are up next (with next two week's pengs/circus). Hoping c3 mining/fishing/woodcutting can take those skills closer to 95/95/98 respectively so agility will be the lowest skill once again. Also need 600k hunt for 95 there.
  25. They really need to get more creative with their demons. Right now they look more like devils to me anyway. Such as these. Slimy, nasty things, not just another random humanoid species. Classic demon (still my favourite): [hide] Meh, link.[/hide]
