Almost. @ Jax: Thanks, you too :). Got 92 con, best pet house :D (+5 bank space). 4800 planks left (enough to get 93.5). 93 con now, ~1800 planks left, 1.6x multiplier, means about 300-350k xp. Right on schedule.

90 something magic
Bursting would be little better, but barraging is probably better still. Right now it's around 570 gp for an ice burst with staff of light, and 1240 gp for an ice barrage with staff of light (which you really really should get). You can assume around 200-250k xp/hr bursting and 300-350k xp/hr barraging, something in that order of magnitude (1200 casts per hour at most). Assuming you can make 1m gp/hr you'd either burst for 60 minutes and then make money for 40 minutes, or barrage for 40 minutes and make money for about 60 minutes. If you make more than 1m/hr you should barrage regardless. If you make less than 1.5m/hr you should consider using battle robes. They reduce rune cost by some 50% (with sol) and take about 90-120 minutes to charge for a 4 hr charge. That saves you about 2 hours of runes, which is about 1.3-1.4m bursting (600-800k gp/hr equivalent) or about 2.5m barraging (1.4-1.6m/hr equivalent). My recommendation would be, assuming you make around 1m/hr, to barrage with battle robes > barrage > burst with battle robes > burst.

90 something magic
Barrage is better than stun-alch starting at level 86, or even at 79 if you have overloads or a wolpertinger. 30k doubled magic xp or 40k doubled hp xp per hat and barraging is over 400k xp/hr at monkey skeletons (including hp, without multipliers) means you'd use up 20-25 hats per hour, around 4-5 hours of SC to barrage 1 hour to gain 800k+ xp (130-160k/hr including hp). I'd suggest not using SC gear.

02-Sep-2011 - Bonus XP Weekend - 9th to 12th of September
And considering that money, like herblore and summoning supplies, is tradeable (= lendable) in nearly 0 time (charms can be lootshared but that takes a long while), and that people tend to stockpile money rather than charms even in between xp weekends, it's very different to give money an advantage than giving charms an advantage. Good first day of the weekend for me, con isn't as fast as I hoped but not slower than I expected, 85-91 in three hours. Tomorrow 91-93 con and 87-89 fletch hopefully.

Hmm... I did 8k of my 15k planks in almost 3 hours. 91 con (:D) and 7k planks to go (:() which will probably get me 93 con (:D). Tomorrow it's that last million or so con xp then about a million fletching (easy on the wrists).

You also have to juggle three law staves while doing that. With your nose.

Did you get 99 prayer + magic before 99 strength + defence?

Okay so I'm getting back into Runescape!
Herbs drop because of bots, not because of a huge influx of farmers.

Killing Vanstrom?
My bad :(. Then melee is best.

Okay so I'm getting back into Runescape!
A good thing to start up is a steady flow of money that gives you enough cash to cover your basic daily expenses such as teleports and prayer potions. Farming herbs and Manage Thy Kingdom are excellent for this.

Q
Thanks, and good luck on RC, got to be the slowest and most laggy excuse for a skill ever with all that running around :-?. Got a nice problem: Give the lowest n for a given m and k for which there are k parallel non-intersecting m-dimensional closed manifolds M1, M2 ... Mk of equal m-dimensional volume in n-dimensional Euclidian space, with m > 0 and k > 1. (I hope I worded that right, not sure if 'parallel' is the right word in higher-dimensional spaces so I added non-intersecting for good measure.) Basically, imagine any number of circles with the same centre but different radii on an infinite flat plane (not 100% correct probably but it'll do). They are parallel 1-dimensional closed manifolds in 2-dimensional Euclidian space, but do not have the same 1-dimensional volume (length, or rather, circumference). The same thing with a number of spheres of different radii, which are parallel 2-dimensional closed manifolds in 3-dimensional Euclidian space with different 2-dimensional volume (surface area). [hide=No peeking until you have the answer!]I think the answer is n = m + 2. Going back to the circles above, imagine they are cross-sections of a cylinder. (I'm not a mathematician or even maths student btw, this could be all horribly wrong.) [/hide]

How money comes in and out of RS
Alching is done in f2p a lot. Also don't forget that this forum has a lot more efficient/high level people (%) than the game overall, just because most people here don't alch doesn't mean few people do it. If you go around the GE you'll find tons of alchers.

Waterfiends are weak to crush... Rapier time!
Counting hits/misses works, you just need to get quite a lot of counts done. There already is a lot of data on crims charm rates though, as that's the only thing most people cba writing down. Overkill isn't hard to account for provided you're only comparing two setups, as you have to run quite a lot of calculations for each setup.

Def - 85 vs 99
Moved to Help&Advice. 99 defence (technically 97 or 98) means you'll be able to left-click attack any player and cave crawlers. For me that's worth it.

Jagex Seizes RWT Domain -- 9/02/11
Actually the game is offered with the rule that you won't RWT. So any RWTer isn't playing the game as it's offered but is taking something else that isn't offered (but available). I think a court would recognize that player-to-player trading (including donations) is one of the core concepts of a MMORPG, and that it would be unreasonable to expect Jagex to remove it from the game. Short of doing that, nothing can be done to fight RWTing directly in-game, so the court would recognize the need to fine or dissolve or w/e the RWT company for systematically breaching the terms of use.

Killing Vanstrom?
Using blood barrage is easiest. You can outheal any time you mess up, you don't need gear switches, you can attack while he's flying. Ranged serves much the same all-round purpose. Melee requires a switch to attack him while he's flying. Melee only is kind of a weak strategy. It works, but it's not worth it. Brew/restore is not great without overloads so I'd go with a war tortoise, rocktails and blood barrage for ranged switch.

Fishing leveling
It's supposed to. You catch a fish every 5 ticks normally but the first fish comes after 3 ticks. So if you keep interrupting (alching, cut/eating, dropping) you get fish a lot faster.
