  1. This is like, reasonably important so I'm going to bump this for a year if I need to
  2. I think Jagex prefers nerfing training slowly but surely. And I kinda support that. A lot of Jagex employees actually look down on Grindy MMO's in spite of working for a company that makes one of the Grindier ones out there. The only reason they haven't made runescape too much easier is because they know there's a large installed oldschool fanbase that would be very opposed to too much change too fast. They tried to make Mechscape into a game with no skilling/level up system in an attempt to create a grindless MMO. Unfortunately it didn't work out well when all was fleshed out, and that's the rumor as to why mechscape was scrapped. Stuff like ancient effigies has nerfed leveling up pretty heavily. But they won't nerf it too much, or too quickly. The target goal of Jagex, as they stated, was that for every level up, there will be one quest. So IF a player chooses to do 1 quest Then train 1 skill up 1 level then do 1 quest then train another skill up 1 level rinse repeat They will be able to do so all the way to max total without running out of quests. That is the end goal of Jagex for Runescape. With the current number of skills in game that means we are at 170 quests/2496 quest goal of Jagex for Runescape, at least according to their interviews. And while I expect Jagex to nerf grinding times more and more, I do not expect Jagex to lower grind times below 2500 hours to max out. As 1 hour in between quests seems like a reasonable amount of time.
  3. hey guess who bought a few santa hats a few days ago.
  4. was actually going to mention that :P it's dated to be released in 2011 and rumor is Jagex wants to charge $20/month for it. You need a reasonably high quality game for that. And I don't think we've seen Jagex prove themselves in that regards. honestly I can't see that game being successful with 4x the subscription cost of runescape. I'm also wondering if it will affect runescape in any way. Maybe overshadow it or something.
  5. Really? Heal tick right after 0 hp tick? Other than that rapid renewal is a big waste of tokens yeap, nobody i know tested it tho.
  6. some players stumbled on this. they say it was changed a few hours after leak. took this image off a thread on rune-tips.
  7. there's a possibility that rapid renewal prevents you from being dying from hits that would otherwise kill you 50% of the time. didn't bother buying the scroll to test it though, since it's probably a glitch and i wouldn't want to be pinned with exploiting a glitch if that actually happens.
  8. jagex mentioned that they already coded WASD controls at one point. They didn't like it when they play tested it though, so they never released it into the game.
  9. In 2009, Jagex announced in the 2009 BTS that it would be the year of the upgrade. We saw changes to our magic interface, dungeon updates, and graphics upgrades. And along the end of the 2009 and early 2010, we saw numerous upgrades to skills. Starting with the upgraded agility courses Moving onto ancient curses, extreme potions, living rocks, lumberyard/ivies, Surge spells, Kuradal's Dungeon, etc. By 2010, Jagex abandonned and later readopted the BTS. So we did not get a 2010 BTS. But perhaps we will get a 2011 BTS this year as it has been readopted. Jagex continued their upgrade/skill change theme to a lesser extent, following up with herblore habitat, make-x changes, and login lobby changes, and multiple runecrafting. However, 2010 opened up relatively early in the year with the dungeoneering skill in April, which has dominated the attention of many of the more hardcore audience. With the release of the final warped floors late in 2010, it seems like there is not much left for dungeoneering the skill. What do you think will be the running theme in 2010? and what do you want it to be? Perhaps a year of the quest? We have many epic story lines impending. The finale of mysteries of the mahjarrat. The chaos elemental has predicted the red axe sequel, as well as a dragon-kin related quest. And of course the dungeoneering finale. And the signature hero quests, which were announced last june 2010, have yet to make an appearance in any quests other than the low level "blood pact" quest. Or perhaps the tools for clans announcement will usher in a year of greater community focus, following numerous community events this year such as zombie clan wars. Obviously as players, there's only so much we can say. But lets hear it anyways. PS. I stole this topic idea from Squisher.
  10. that would work as well, sounds a little more awkward on the fingers though. just personal typing preference there.
  11. I rest my case.
  12. it's the rants section, I've been trolling if you haven't realized yet. anyways if that's a problem, get a bow and some arrows. mages, including mercenary leader in daemonheim, have 0 ranged armor. All their defense comes from their defense level, so they won't block ranged attacks much. Meaning if you ranged a 203 merc leader with a tangle gum bow at 99 ranged, you'd probably hit on the order of 33% accuracy. and of course much better if you didn't use the [cabbage]tiest bow in DG. honestly I'm simply not going to give any credit to anybody hasn't tried anything more than just to run in and start smacking the merc leader/eating food until they die. i mean, how many brain cells does it take to come up with such an obvious plan.
  13. I already explained it. Safe spot the meleers. And hope that you do get some meleers. Heck you have a prom platebody, you're already a leg up on people who have just a hood and no armor. you can pray mage for the merc leader + other summoned mages. and you can safestep 1 melee warrior. In fact it is possible to safestep 2 melee warriors if you know how to. It's actually not much harder than safestepping 1. So if you do this, you should not take any damage from anything except for rangers. in which case, you have a promethium platebody so you should make it by with table food and just tanking the damage from a single ranger. The odds of 2 rangers spawning is 1/9, so just teleport out if that happens and try again later. seriously, if you're in solo and taking damage from anything other than a ranger, you're doing something wrong.
  14. hm =\ wildy ditch -> wall seemed to have pwned bots, so i figured they went on what the name of an object was.
  15. make the fake box trap distinguishable, but not by color, since it's easier for bots to distinguish color than other properties. Perhaps make the fake box trap shake more violently. anyways cmon, even if u hunt while watching a movie, u should remember where u set ut last 5 box traps ;o
  16. oh cmon, it's hilarious, it pwns bots, and it pwns idiots what's not to love :D
  17. allow the purchase of fake box trap. Once set up, it pretends to be a shaking box trap that any player can "loot" If looted, it explodes, releasing the "pungent excrement" of a large predatorial beast, scaring away prey and making the poor sap unable to catch monsters for a period of time. A player will remember where they set up their own box traps, a bot will be less likely to tell the difference afterall. the animation of a player covered in "pungent excrement" may or may not be necessary. objective: a) Pwn Chinchompa bots b) Epic lulz of course this can be rinsed and repeated to pwn other sorts of bots. imagine a fake green dragon (that obviously looks not fake to a non-bot, but has the same right click options) and makes you do 0 damage to green dragons for a period of time if failed for example.
  18. oh wait, I'm sorry, I didn't realize that being a derp imbued you with a natural -30 prayer bonus. I feel bad for you. but seriously you shouldn't be spawning high lvl merc leaders if you're not 99 atk/str/def/hp. and if you are, you have probably were a member at some point, so why the hell are you in f2p. and if prayer is a problem, pray flash the mage when you're done safespotting. Its not the levels, its the low level equipment in f2p. Use a primal 2h, than switch to a fractite 2h, you will see a huge difference. the thing is, the leader and his summons should also be using low level gear too. Barring the possibility that you are like very high combat level In which case what the heck are you doing in f2p.
  19. bought and equipped a pair, saw 0 soak. of course we don't know if this is an in game typo or a kb typo <_< remember how the shields displayed 0 soak? ugh what a troll, two sources of potential inaccuracy, gf jagex =\. maybe I'll ask someone to try to mage max on me while i wear just the gloves. I'm glad that hitsplats display soaking. or else we'd have a nightmare on our hands.
  20. lol @ bandos boots typo. I'm guessing it's supposed to be bandos chestplate +9% damage soak, not the boots :P from what i've heard, ppl bought the boots and found that they give 0
  21. new max hitsplats now. I'm actually quite interested in them for formula writing purposes. Would you guys mind posting your max hit splats? Just also post your equipment, strength lvl when you did the attack, prayers being used, and what special attacks being used. and that would be awesome and peachy :D
  22. Whenever you get another 99, The cape gets trimmed. he just needs to do the trick again every time he gets another 99.
  23. U r Bore. I r Bore-N lucky
  24. aw come'on guys, that's the lazy boring answer. but no I don't think jagex would implement an ID number that persists throughout your RS career. There's just too many places jagex could trawl random numbers. Like log in time or total experience or something. Anyways aren't there random number generators that work on atmospheric data now?
  25. It is possible, i know someone who did that before. your latter method is probably still in effect.
