  1. no, they can be in the process of growing. But they can't be dead or diseased.
  2. and you checked the island? anyways on a separate note, juju hunting potions last about 10 minutes. I caught 16 common jadinkos and 45 draconic jadinkos in that timeframe. And this was with 93 hunter, and witch-doctor hat + pants, and no scentless potion, and no Zamorak juju potion. This sets the xp rate at about 175k hunter xp/hour with my set up. With potentially more once I get full witchdoctor, scentless potions, and Zamorak Juju.
  3. So the premise of PVP dg wasn't to gain xp. It's just a fun minigame. like I said in the suggestion, it might not even give experience. It could, but that's not the important part of the suggestion.
  4. i have a spreadsheet that calculates which floors you should do small, and which to do large. It's not perfect, but you'll find it in the usual location. Click the edit button at the bottom left of the input spreadsheet to change the inputs. prom 2H + berserker is considered to be the well rounded weapon right now. Spear if you hex and have trouble switching classes. battle axe if you key. there is talk of rapier being good with celestial surgebox. Try to replace your laws with a celestial surgebox. Magic is very useful in dunegoneering, especially in warped floors. Only bind arrows if you have a hexhunter. most players should stick with C1 5:1 smalls for early floors and C6 5:5 Large for their higher floors. the most important thing in dungeoneering though, is meeting good dungeoneers. world 53 is the 3BO world, it's the best world but they probably won't take you if you're not 100+ DG 148 is another world, it's not as good as 53. 117 is the worst, but anybody can join there. 3BO and DGE are the two primary clans out there. DGE has lower requirements, and a smaller community, mostly because they recruit based on recommendations. Whereas 3BO filters their members by simply setting a very high DG lvl bar.
  5. wait, isn't the point of PVP that you stay dead when you die? :P Perhaps I didn't make that clear. But the point of PVP was essentially elimination of the other team. Kill all 5 members of the opposing team.
  6. Mod Chris L said you need to kill 90% of the monsters in a dungeon to get full level mod I believe. either way it's not worth it.
  7. Yeap, Agreed. I think disappointment is a cheap price to pay for optimism though :P
  8. Umm, as far as i can tell, rapier is always better than spear if don't need crush. The max hit for spear is about the same as rapier on berserker(~19%). For stab, rapier is alot less accurate but is 25% faster, if you use stab on stab-weak monsters, it's always better(up to ~25% better). For slash, the accuracy bonuses are very close where as rapier keeps it's speed advantage, rapier is always around 25% better. For crush, you'd use surgebox... I'd still rather test it myself before I lay judgment, because not every weakness type is well known. I've used a promethium rapier on fire giants/hellhounds as well, and even if they're weak to stab, rapier isn't THAT accurate (it's still on the order of 50-70% accuracy) And that borders on being on being comparable to a spear. But maybe it's because it's promethium. Nobody's really using the box/rapier combo. I'd really like to see that before I cast personal judgment.
  9. Is it really that unreasonable to think that updates usually come tuesday? or that we get a game content update at least every 2 weeks? It usually happens, so what's wrong with getting used to it. Just because some updates are on Tuesdays does not mean this one was. It just seems strange to me that you can be disappointed that something not confirmed for today didn't happen today. They have not said it would be out today, so it didn't come out today. I can't see the problem. I find it strange that you think confirmation is necessary for disappointment. Having unrealistic expectations is quite a natural human condition, and the things people are expecting from Jagex aren't quite that unrealistic either. By your logic I should be mentally prepared for a cure for cancer never coming out, ever. Sure, I could. But what's wrong with thinking that one will. I don't understand why you shun it so much. I mean is there anything really wrong with it?
  10. Is it really that unreasonable to think that updates usually come tuesday? or that we get a game content update at least every 2 weeks? It usually happens, so what's wrong with getting used to it. anyways myself and a lot of friends, being very hardcore RS gamers, are rather bored of RS now. Dungeoneering's starting to wear off, especially with a lot of the pro-er DGers reaching 120 and just stopping. And a lot of the huge update's I'm looking forward to: (First dungeoneneering quest, Mahjarrat/Zyzygy Quest) seem like they are a far ways away. Just personally, I'm bored. And I got a bunch of RS friends who were really looking forward to this juju potion update to tide them over.
  11. @ Sonikku DPS on defenseless targets: assuming tier 10 berserker for rapier, stabbing Rapier: 259,195 Longsword: 236,887 Spear: 249,881 DPS coefficient (Not DPS) on heavily armored targets (IE if you are missing more than 50% of the time with all 3 weapons) Rapier: 86,663 Longsword: 101,646 Spear: 138,554 nobody really uses the spear. A few people say that it works nice with the celestial surgebox. But yeah nobody I know actually uses this combo, even if it MIGHT work well in theory.
  12. well, hits used to be 10x less resolution than it is now. How do we know if jagex updated the hits resolution to 10x when they went from hitpoints -> constitution? Jagex went back to the Jad vs Rooster article and changed it after the update, but they half assed the job so that actually doesn't tell us anything. (they just multiplied all damage and lifepoints by 10 instead of redoing the math, since the math actually did change) the test is rather simple though. At sufficiently low attack/defense levels it should be possible to set it up so that a certain situation has 25% accuracy at 1x and the other has 75% accuracy at 10x resolution. (or something like that) Just go to dust devils on pvp worlds, drain your stats, wear the right gear, and kick each other. Point is, research is important, and far from impossible to do. It's just a matter of finding the right people, who have enough time. By all means it doesn't hurt anybody to do research. I don't understand why there's so much resistance.
  13. yeah, that's the one I use. It's not 100% confirmed though, and it has some details that have yet to be worked out. Like the resolution of the accuracy/defense rolls. research is needed to finish that formula.
  14. I don't get why so many people are shooting this down. If you're not the one doing the research, what do you have to lose from someone else doing it? If something good comes out of it, you will only benefit from it after all. Nothing wrong with some initiative. The one problem I could see coming up in generating such a formula is the lack of ability to see how each value is weighted in addition to other outside variables that we may not even be able to account for. I took a beginners programming class for school and one of the starting programs we created was a random number generator that used the computers clock system to produce a random number pattern. The variables may not be limited to just the stats you see, and because you may not ever be able to identify all the variables, creating a equation to determine accuracy based on only what you see is likely to be inaccurate. Using my example, at :05 seconds a weapon could have a dice which only goes to 200, while at :15 seconds it uses a different dice that might go up to 400. In other words, unless Jagex specifically tells you all the variables in the accuracy equation, and I would bet there are more than just equipment and stats, then trying to generate an equation from it from personal data would be impossible. Can't we just assume that it's reasonably random? It's not like rs has many (if any) players who are capable of implement foreknowledge of a random number generators to their advantage. we do?
  15. it is worth it to smoke traps at grenwalls. As for casting fruitfall, you need to learn to cast fruitfall/set traps/drop bones/baiting traps/etc in the proper order. You can do certain actions simultaneously or near simultaneously if you do them in the right order. I don't remember what. As for the bonecrusher, it depends on how high of a DG level you intend to get. I'm 108 DG and I have over a million DG tokens sitting around, that I have nothing really spend on. If you intend to got hat high, the decision is obvious. If you don't intend on getting 100 dg, you might not want to.
  16. no. Spear only with hex (and maybe surgebox I guess) because you can't quickswitch rings in combat, and usually you're still in combat after you snipe the first few mages. less so with surgebox because typically you deal with the forgotten warriors last, and you can safespot them pretty easily once that is the case. And of course, you'll never have trouble quickswitching to gatherer if you're in the process of harvesting resources. If you're keying, this is a different story I suppose, but I never really find gatherers ring to make that big of a difference when I key.
  17. Our perm team is now known as the hex hunters. And we require at least 2 hexhunter bows to join.
  18. I wield dual hex hunters True story
  19. Not really, it's a gamble when you think about it. Using a Novite Hatchet (or marmaros), you might only get 1 log from a tree, which is the last branch. Also alching the items quickly at the start could save time later if you need to gather coins for an altar later, because sometimes monsters are just greedy. I'm thinking we should just end this staff discussion, because we're honestly talking about seconds lost/saved here, it's not worth such a long discussion. I've chopped gravecreepers before, and it definitely takes a looong time unless you get lucky off the first log (which is rarely the case). Alchemy is an interesting idea. I should keep it in mind if I ever find myself short on table loot, and there is a distinct lack of GDs near the smuggler. It'd definitely be better to spend some time alching, than to have to spend even more time home teleporting later on during the floor. but usually that isn't the case, and I can get a few thousand GPs from drops just from clearing the first few GDs.
  20. I'm pretty sure most companies just call them patent trolls. I'm not sure but it might actually be the technical term. btw it's worth noting that the title of a patents can be misleading, as there is no standard that describes how the title needs to reflect the contents of the patent. Like an engineer can call something an "engine patent" even if the only thing it patents is a single screw in a particular type of engine. Likewise this patent might be called a patent about sharing data over the internet. But it might only patent a certain chain of code that is required for sharing data over the internet. If Jagex doesn't have that chain of code. Obviously they don't infringe on the patent. I'm packing to go home so i won't actually read the patents today though :P
  21. That's the strategy used during the early days of dungeoneering. And it works.Requires food since pro magic doesn't completely block his attacks. Also much slower.
  22. 60 arrows doenst cut it, if anything we need more than 125 Eh, I almost never run out of arrows, unless I try to solo Necrolord without a strong ranging potion/deathslinger.
  23. i see more of these than shadow silk hoods TBH :P
  24. Just do larges, and don't worry about it too much. Solo's definitely aren't the way to go. It'll take too long. You might as well get a high DG level while you're at it. Just be prepared to break well over 100 DG before getting a hexhunter. They say the drop rate is 1/16 soulgazers.
