I think that would be somewhat lame, as I am not a fan of the Nomad revival thing =\ Bilrach isn't like the rest of the DG bosses, he's actually an important character. When he dies, I want him to stay dead.

How often do Handcannons break?
RS wiki says 1/400 at lvl 70 I've personally had 7 handcannons explode in 2411 shots at lvl 97 fm (~1/466 shots)

Behind The Scenes November
The teams I'm in personally don't prep for thunderous anymore. 5 people with 99 full prayer, should be able to kill thunderous before the prayer runs out, even without pots. necrolord has the most prep time and kill time now tbh =\ i heard that mod emilee raged at necrolord though, so here's a toast to jagex nerfing him next update :P

This confirms three at least of the chaos elemental hints I'm surpised they're releasing all 13 remaining floors. Everybody thought it was only going to be the next 12.

I think you have to not consider furnished floors to draw any sort of meaningful conclusions... If you only look at only frozen, abandoned and occult, behemoth is definitely one of the first three, stalker is definitely the 5th boss(level 107) and the demon is definitely the last boss(level 113). Also, by logic of those 3 floors, a multy-combat boss should be one of the first three and a mage boss should be the 4th. There is also a possibility that jagex might consider lowering the requirements for the top half of these bosses, something like 99/105/111, 99/103/109 or even 99/103/107 might be possible(and make sense). first 3 bosses: (Behemoths, rammernaut, and gravecreeper were first 3 bosses) Behemoth - spear drop maybe? Behemoths tend to drop random things :P Dreadnaut - probably drops 2H, as other Naut drops a 2 handed maul. Creeper thing 4th boss: (Mage bosses other than astea have been the 4th boss) Mage/Summoner - mage top? other than the necro lord, previous mages dropped magical armor 5th boss: (Stalkers historically are the 5th or 6th boss) Stalker - probably drops platebody, as stalkers tend to drop armor. 6th boss: (We know the last boss has voice acting, the Jmod who did his voice bragged about it already. Probably Kalgerion demon as final boss) Kalgerion Demon - Probably drops longsword, as demons tend to drop 1 handed weapons.

I've been abusing gatestones recently (not group gatestones) As all damage you receive while teleporting with the gatestone is never dealt to you. If you see that you just failed a skill door, teleport and you'll avoid the damage. Trap floors? Teleport after walking onto them to avoid the damage. about to get KOed by monsters in a room? teleport to avoid the damage. I don't die too often, even without any more armor than an antidragon shield and my SS hood these days because this is so abusable.

But who would use it? It's so much more effective to bind a prom plate and have excellent ranged and melee defense + magic prayer than just mediocre defense in everything so no prayer is going to be particularly helpful. Sagittarian body is the best bind for magic defense. You'd just pray range or melee. This is particularly nice since the ranged and magic attacks of shades are both considered magical, and they do a hefty amount of the total damage in daemonheim. Question is how accurate are shade attacks through sagittarian, and other magical attacks through sagittarian as you'd probably want to pray range/melee in place of magic if you're binding that leather armor. I mean, I might consider a Sag body, and I'd definitely understand the advantages of having one. Whether I'd actually choose it over a platebody is another story. -10 melee attack is a huge downside rangers are accurate even through metal armor is usually used as a counter argument. I'm not sure if mages are very accurate through leather armor.

That Jagex at least tries to avoid back to back melee items? :P

Oh no I think it's quite easy to get floors that are longer than 35 minutes with just two binds :P anyways 35 minute or less floors might be hard with two binds if you're out there with a random team. But up until recently, the perm team I'm in consisted of nothing but 2 binds (we are now all at or close to 3 binds). and we managed sub 35 minute floors fine back then. Things are definitely much easier now without monster limit. # of binds don't really matter much. Having a team of people you are *comfortable* with is the most important. The pro-ness of each individual only can factor in so much into run speed.

I mean you're pretty much guaranteed the spear, 2h, or plate. I wouldn't complain :) bah but I don't need the spear T_T

we need 95 Dg for the first 3 bosses. the other floors require 4, or 6 additional levels above first 3 bosses for the second boss. so with 101 DG, i'll be able to access the first 4 of the drops, out of 6. with a huge 6 DG lvl gap in between the next item (which is HUGE T_T ) I sure hope that 2H and platebody are in those first 4, but I heavily doubt that.

You're right. DG worlds are always going to suck. But a they were definitely better a few months ago than they are now :P. But there might be ways to improve things. RS wiki articles aren't a good way. But a Youtube video, one that isn't a typical RSMV with bad music set to RS animations, might do the trick. icwutudidthar Pro tip: They can't kill you, if you're on fire.

where is the best place to train firemaking?
I'm pretty sure varrock is the best spot if you assume: inability to use advanced firemaking techniques (which can make firemaking pretty much anywhere equally efficient as anywhere else) uncrowded spot (varrock spot has capacity for about 2 firemakers) teleport to varrock center, firemake west which will bring you to the west bank Bank, then teleport back to the center. Rinse repeat. if you want a place that is definitely empty, I like nardah.

29-Oct.-2010 Wigged: Halloween 2010 Special
I remember seeing him in the videos, so he was supposed to be "party pete" huh? I'm not a huge fan of these Jagex activities personally. I loved how contrived his description of the halloween event was :P

Prayer Drain Rate
I've said that prayer bonus gets diminishing returns dozens of times, so that would be me who said that. RS wiki says that prayer drain rate is a proportional to: (30 + Prayer bonus)/30 so if you have 0 prayer bonus, you drain at 1x normal rate. if you have +30 prayer bonus, you drain at 0.5x normal rate. And of course, this equation says you need +90 prayer bonus for 0.25x normal rate. +1 prayer bonus at 0 prayer bonus, will save you many more prayer potion doses then +1 prayer bonus at +30 prayer bonus for example. that is what I meant by diminishing returns. So in terms of pure cash savings per hour, each additional prayer point stops mattering once you already have a pretty high bonus. I always use this equation for calculating how many potions to bring to slayer. And it's never failed me.

27-Oct.-2010 Emergent Gameplay letter
Yes, so it's a space that's used by more than one group of person, and my metaphor might have been a bit far, but consider that I was speaking to other people at the time, and I personally judged the exaggeration to get the point across to the people I was speaking to. As I was not speaking to you directly. Secondly, I do not think that only non-community emergent gamers frequent there. But I claimed that enough do, such that it aggravated a small mistake like writing a misleading title. Anyways my assertion was that Jagex made a bad business decision to post the thread there, and name it emergent gaming. Because I believe there to be many gamers who are upset at Jagex' seeming disregard of their form of emergent gaming. And had Jagex simply renamed the thread "community activities and role playing" a lot of pent up unhappiness on behalf of non-community emergent gamers would not have been released.

27-Oct.-2010 Emergent Gameplay letter
you made two arguments 1) we should not judge what is an emergent form of gameplay or not unless we know for 100% certainty. My response is that such an argument would not be valid in a scientific community. "PROVE ME WRONG" is essentially your argument. That's really something I'd expect from golvellius, not a forum mod. The fact of the matter is I cannot prove you wrong. That's not going to stop me from thinking that you're wrong though. The point is you've set up an argument that I do not see meaningful resolution to, hence I will not continue in this discussion. I am allowed to ignore arguments that I see to be pointless am I not? 2) the article is moreso about community management. I agreed with this argument. There is nothing more to say here. It's ultimately a stupid business decision is what I'm arguing. Most non-community emergent gamers read dev blogs. Because dev blogs (such as the damage control dev blog, or the jad vs chicken dev blog) provide insight into the game, and a useful resource that helps these players with their non-community emergent gameplay. A missionary can post a christian billboard anywhere they want. And sure they could be targeting someone else than me. But if I'm not christian and I never want to be christian, posting it in my back yard is simply a bad decision. Jagex posted their community emergent gameplay thread in an area that non-community emergent gamers have a strong reason to frequent. Hence their decision was poorly made. That'd be like posting anti-abortion posters in mecca. It's silly.
