  1. not sure about that one, because hides give almost as much crush defense as plate armor :P and his melee attack is clearly of the crush variety. Remember, his magic attack hits only 1 player at a time. Where his melee attack hits everybody. You're more likely to get attacked by his melee than his magic, unless you're the only man in the room.
  2. Quite simply, you're wrong. Either you're misremembering or lying. You're 50 dungeoneering, so... How does my dg level matter? Sure if I was like lvl 1, But quite clearly to get lvl 50 you have to do all the floors through several times. So sure I don't know much of the top floors and their bosses, but I knw plenty f what I experienced. And I can safely say you CAN get doors you need to pt to open that are required. doors that are not opennable by the stats of the players are always bonus rooms. They are never rooms that require boosts to do and are on the path to the boss. this is common knowledge amongst 100+ dgers, and none of them would ever say they ran into a door that was both the only path and that require potions. i'm sure if it were possible, someone amongst the hordes of 100+dgers would have spoken up by down. Chances are you just messed up at some point during your floor, and you thought it was the only way. There are other ways for floors to be impossible though. But never because of level boosting.
  3. i pray melee if i don't have any armor. i'm guessing you're not 100 dg so u dont have a platebody. if you do go ahead and pray mage.
  4. oh wait, I'm sorry, I didn't realize that being a derp imbued you with a natural -30 prayer bonus. I feel bad for you. but seriously you shouldn't be spawning high lvl merc leaders if you're not 99 atk/str/def/hp. and if you are, you have probably were a member at some point, so why the hell are you in f2p. and if prayer is a problem, pray flash the mage when you're done safespotting.
  5. why would it change in f2p? you'd just still use gatestone runes and a spear you'd just need to use a little more prayer before the boss died with proper safespotting.
  6. Lol-ed at being efficiency trolled and told to nut up online  1) Not everyone has god-like stats 2) Not everyone wants to waste hours of their lives calculating their way to get god stats 3) People whined moaned and complained about not having a bank on Musa Point and got it so I think this is a reasonable complaint. so you don't have god-like stats. Jagex already said that DG is supposed to be *the* end game skill. So don't expect the hardest difficulty setting of the end game skill to cater to your mid level stats. Elitistism at its best. Maybe we should make TIF a fascist dictatorship and have Grimy be the Fuhrer. Maybe you're friends are the secret police! Hey, wanna send me a portrait of you so I can hang it up on my wall, and realize you are the almighty perfect ruler, and no one shall ever go against you! OT: I always get 200+ Mercs, I have no idea why, although I'm always in a team when I get them. I don't think that 1 in 5 theory is right. that sounds awesome, I would finally be able to silence the trolls. Because at the end of the day, guess who's available to answer people's questions that other people can't answer. and yeah the theory doesn't seem correct after recent data. still, i don't see the merc leader solo to be a challenge if you know how to safe spot. He only summons 2 allies in solo. There are 9 combinations of allies he can summon them. Mage-Mage, Mage-Melee, and Melee-Melee are safespottable, allowing you to mage pray + finish the boss off without taking damage. I never fight merc leaders with rangers since they rip through my lack of armor, but I've seen players with primal plate bound that can simply tank those rangers with sufficient food. Ultimately, for solo, this means there's a 4/9 chance that a merc leader summons allies that can be soloed without taking damage if u use a melee weapon. and if they aren't you can leave to do other doors unless that's your dead end. that's with a melee weapon. with a ranged weapon, you can solo without taking damage, albeit much more time-consumingly, especially if done without a hex. Same applies for mage, but it's not as effective on the leader. He's never ever impossible, even without food, hex, or max stats. Only way he'd be impossible if you had lvl 1 prayer or something silly like that.
  7. are you misunderstanding korasi to be two handed? anyways, your stats are honestly, a little low for wyverns. I'd skip them if I were you. The money from them isn't justified if you can't kill/bank fast enough. I think the major cut offs for skeletal wyverns are pack yaks and soul split.

  9. dungeoneering is meant to push your combat skills to the limit. solo ramokee/mercenary leader are far from impossible. With proper equipment and skills, soloing them is no problem at all. I ran a 5:5 large floor with erichermit once, and soloed both a merc room and a ramokee room on the same floor w/o taking damage. solo floor mercenary leaders and ramokees really shouldn't be bad at all. Ramokees have much lower combat in solo, so you can feasibly tank them on 3 salves and proper safespoting/prayer. Mercenary leader only summons 1 ally if soloing. So just wait for 2 mages or 2 mages + 1 warrior summon and safespot for a no damage solo. you can of course gatestone trick should your luck not be up to notch. Once again, DG combat isn't meant to be easy. Prayer flash gulega is harder than prayer flash Jad afterall. Man up. This is how it's meant to be.
  10. You are, afterall, playing a demo. No matter what jagex calls it. It should still scale but if Jagex tries too hard to scale, we'll have the problem of ppl training DG on f2p like the first few days. I'd rather Jagex didn't. They'd probably screw it up. And if they didn't, it might cost them more worker hours than they can afford.
  11. this guide's formatting is gorgeous  Definitely a role model for other guide writers. I'm amazed that this is actually you're first guide Anyways, for some useful info: and yeah 200k xp/hour is definitely possible without zamorak's favour potions. Andrew calcs told me that 250k xp/hour is the ideal rate actually. withered vines from common jadinkos can be used to bait traps. If you click use vine -> trap the moment you set up the trap, you shouldn't waste any time. But it's pretty tough to get that down. I've also been testing some new trap set ups. But I can't tell you if they're actually better. xx xx x for the following reason: The moment you dismantle a trap, you can dismantle a second trap in less time. however if you use a diagonal set up or x set, you can dismantle two adjacent traps quickly, but then you need to step away to set up another trap. Where as in the p shape, you can dismantle the trap you're standing on, an adjacent one, and then just set up the first trap immediately. I haven't actually done enough testing to prove that a p-shape is better than a \-shape or an x-shape though
  12. the tower could be Christmas event related? Since the Christmas event is taking place in daemonheim this year. But that tower looks a little too serious for Christmas :P I got my fingers crossed for the first daemonheim quest. or it could have just always been there :) dunno myself.
  13. ancient was talking about the BTS pic there hasnt been a teaser pic yet
  14. Here's how I would do the math: I usually get about 2.7 mil xp per reset. 1 prestige is about a 7% increase in xp 7% of 2.7 mil 189k xp + relevant tokens so that's the bonus I am looking to receive if I finish my lvl before the reset. Lets say I hypothetically were lvl 92 dg and 420k xp from 93 (which I am not) so in addition to the 420k xp + 42k tokens I would get, I would receive a bonus of 189k xp + 18.9k tokens. I would say my average xp rate is about 260k xp/hour. So i would need to get that 420k xp + 189k bonus xp within that 260k xp/hour rate, or better. IE id need to get the remaining 420k xp in 2.3 hours to justify it. of course, your xp rates + xps per floor are different from mine. But that's the formula you should use.
  15. Rocked's theory is that the mercenary picks a single player in the party, and scales the combat stats around said person. So if you have a single lvl 3 skiller in the floor, this theory predicts that 1 in 5 mercenary leaders will be lvl 8 mercenary leaders secondly, the mercenary leader summons 2 minions per player on the team.
  16. you can cosmic gatestone trick to kill merc leaders without taking damage. merc leaders aren't that tough, you just were missing your second bind and you just aren't that experienced yet.
  17. what makes you think that he was going to use it with those kinds of people
  18. I think there might be some lag with google doc, but that's not too relevant. Not sure though, we could try it next time our team DGs. I kinda want to push myself to learn to memorize things better. And I think the best way to do that is to just challenge yourself. because regardless of how I look at it, alt tabbing and doing something else will slow you down =\
  19. I'll make this quick. You know how if you type red: [text] it outputs red text? well make- laugh: [text] make you laugh while saying the word. or laugh: to just laugh. etc. Too many icons in emote list. CBA to memorize locations.
  20. So much butt-hurt... Hey did you know spending time wisely has nothing to do with efficiency? Efficiency is all about banking on ones ego. Its dreaming up xp rates, working 9/5 for boss drops, preaching baseless spreadsheets, and telling everybody else they are stupid if they don't follow suite. And if you run out of money or somebody calls you out, just quit. Its efficient. Do you ever have anything nice to say about anything? I wouldn't even care if its nice, if he only could back it up. Or maybe be right, once in a while. I don't think gol understands efficiency, which is his main problem. once upon a time Golvellius had fans that would throw him praise for being the rebel against the decade entrenched efficiency gamers. It's been a while since I've seen any of that support though. I guess the community's realized that, he's just not the brightest bulb.
  21. I remember i used to buy big bones for ~200 gp each and resell in bulk for 300-400 gp each. It was like 1 mil gp/hour, which was really good back in the day. GE made bulk merchanting outdated though.
  22. ardy cloak would be fine. and no range bonus is worthless at LRC. even if you +0 range bonus, you'd hit over 90% of the time.
  23. well it definitely does something, as it's pretty easy to do that 1-2 potion quick make like you mentioned. So lets say hypothetically, a potion takes 2 game ticks to mix. So you're saying that IF you activate the boosted speed: You make the first potion, the boosted speed activates. You only wait 1 game tick to make the second potion. But you need to wait 3 game ticks to make the third potion? Resulting in essentially equal crafting times anyways in spite of the boosted speed on a single potion? btw, in runescape (not daemonheim) Items are often crafted instantly (not always the case, smithing armor for is an exception for example) It's just a matter of a cooldown after making the item, before you can make another. So boosted speed means reduced cooldown time.
  24. If we has a deflector or get can one, replacing his void top with dhide top would even things out a lot. LRC monsters have relatively low defence anyway and the +10% accuracy and +20% damage is well worth it. I can find someone with to help me get the deflector if it would make it better to use void. don't bother getting a deflector. The +accuracy on the dhide top really wouldn't be worth it. Stick with unholy book for prayer bonus. Elite top for prayer bonus too Accuracy is really worthless at LRC. I've ranged there with melee armor (prosy top + verac skirt) and still hit over 95% of the time. and yes KB is wrong, void range is +20% so it's better than slayer helmet for LRC. second I recommend soul wars cape over accumulator. bolts are dirt cheap. Just don't loot them. Thirdly, i recommend karils crossbow if you value your time over 2 mil gp/hour the damage outbow of karils crossbow is about 20% better than broad bolts.
