  1. Now, I might be new to this forum, haven't ever talked to you (hi, SirBrandon39, how are you?) and the closest thing I've done to you is read your blog. But isn't taking all of your stuff into pvp and dying is sort of a hard way to go down, and you will never get that back now in case you want to come back later. You poured so much effort into it, and it's just become another part of the pvp system. I doubt the guy that killed you even got a single part of bandos or that shiny ags. I'm not condemning you for what you did, I guess if it made you happy to do that, then do it, it's your wealth. But you shouldn't really make such decisions in haste, I did on a much smaller scale when I quit by throwing away my full sara. Runescape is both a blessing and a curse, and obviouisly, right now in your life, it is more than a curse than a blessing, so it is necessary to quit. I just hope you don't feel any pain when, and if you come back - it's the equivalent of being hit in the crotch 100 times over  Goodbye, and good luck with whatever else you want to do with your life
  2. WHAT! YOU DON'T LIKE MY PEACHES! WHY I OUGHTA FEED YOU TO MY DRAGON PEACHES! Nah, this was sort of a stub, I'll try to improve on it now that I have a basilisk task EDIT: Is that better, your highness?
  3. I'm quite annoyed that the bones to peaches spell only works on regular bones. I bought a ton to the fire giants because I wanted to camp there, and I tried to use one, but it wouldn't let me. The bones are made of the same thing, so shouldn't there be giant peaches in my inventory or something, something nice that heals 80? Okay, so I'm steaming about the fire giants, so I think i'll cool off by killing some green dragons. Just for kicks, I bring down a bones to peaches tablet. IT DOES NOT WORK ON THE DRAGON BONES EITHER! Can't I have giant dragon peaches I can unleash on my enemies! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!   But seriously, the spell should give me regular peaches from those kinds of bones if I want them, instead of leaving me with no option but to teleport and get more food. It's kind of annoying to have something that can only be used on regular bones, which are actually cheaper than big bones and dragon bones, yet I can't use these so called superior bones for the same purpose a regular bone is used for. Shouldn't bones to peaches be usable on all bones?
  4. This may be off topic, but what the heck Lethargick, why do you have 1 def and 1 attk in your sig, yet your guy is wearing full sara with a r2h
  5. Can't help to notice that the only people to comment on the ugliness of the plate are people with generally less than 270QP. I obviously have no proof of that in this case, so my post should be discounted and thrown in the bin. Damn, i'm good...Hey wait, I just flamed myself! I STAND BY MY INITIAL STATEMENT And +300 for all defences is pretty good for an armor, even in this day and age, given that full rune is like +200
  6. Okay, this may be getting off topic, but I don't care. The matter is decided imo. Where is this so called topic? I wanna go flame someone so bad

As with any skill, when there is new conent released (such as the whip,) there is a surge in prices of both the final products (whips, d boots, dark bows etc.) and also the price of complementary goods (foods, potions, etc.), and therefore a surge in popularity in the skill. When they release a 95 slayer monster that drops something far better than the whip or a powerful magic staff or something, while everyone is desperately levelling up their slayer to fight it, we'll be ready (except for me, i'm only 55 slayer and have been a member for 4 days    )
  8. I don't think that it's that great. I mean, plenty of MMORPG's had systems of mass trading before the Grand Exchange came out, and even though I feel dirty saying this, I am compelled to include the numerous Auction Houses in that dreaded game that i'm not even allowed to mention on this forum, but rhymes with...um...pearl of clawfast? :? Am I kicked off the forums now?
  9. Hey, as long as the dragon plate gets the job done, for whatever use it is used for, it's perfectly alright to have one for showing of your wealth. What, next are you going to condemn people who might want to wear their partyhats to GWD because there are no stat bonuses? Because, quite frankly, they are better than you (within the context of the game at least...) Only joking . But seriously, just let the dog have it's bone
  10. Master...debater?   Just try to say that over and over again as fast as you can
  11. Two things a) I did not see that on your initial post, are you sure that's not just a new edit implemented into your post? :? B) I did plan to go into further detail than my first, quite frankly superficial statement, but I had to take a shower  . The trade limit is still not a very good system, not everyone enjoys quests, and as the amount that you can trade is directly proportional to the number of quest points you have, people that are not very big on questing would suffer. Also, supplies could cost a lot more than 60k (which is the MAXIMUM that can be traded,) if a whole inventory plus a BoB for multiple people is needed to be traded to a common tank (with prayer potions at 8k each, super stat restores at around 9k each and sara brews at god knows how much,) so people may need some amount of money above the trade limit to be able to accept a full inventory of supplies at one time. Not to mention that this is only food, what a lot of GWD teams are doing to change things up a bit are using "common" weapons, i.e. people changing roles in the middle of the run (e.g. from tank to ranger,) by 'trading' equipment, and using cash (either from coinshare or brought from the bank,) to pay the difference. Tbh, it would be just too hard to remove trading fully, and it would also remove a lot of the nostalgia that people are feeling from RSC. It would also cut down on the interaction between people in the game, and we all know that we pay $12 a month to be insulted by 6 year olds for not putting in enough money on your side of the trading screen  P.S. Also, where does this leave F2P clans, and pkers? I guess that's best left for another post :D
  12. Whoa, Whoa, steady.... Sure the removal of non GE trading would remove the junk trading system (which is a problem, but a convenient way to get rid of seemingly useless byproducts of skills such as fletching and woodcutting,) however, it would take out the essence of the game itself. Say you were with a team of 3 at the God Wars Dungeon. Players X and Y are rangers trying to take down Kree from afar, and there is a singular tank (lets call him Z) taking all of the damage. X and Y needs no space in their inventory for food or health restoring potions, but Z sure does. If there was no trading outside of the GE, Z could only use their inventory of food (and maybe their Beast of Burden's food,) however, if there is the current system implemented, Z could use his inventory of food, the inventories of both X and Y, and X, Y and his own beast of burden. That's over one hundred spots (assuming they are all using war tortoises or better,) and would mean that they can be down there for triple the time than if there was no trading outside of the GE. Perhaps only certain items such as food and potions should be tradeable outside of the GE
  13. Teleports, while useful, can be done without. You can still access all areas by using old fashioned walking or running, or the wide array of quest offered teleports such as the gliders and spirit trees. Food is completely necessary, otherwise you're only limited to how much hp you have
  14. The way you say it makes me think that you've overlooked the fact that, because there is no armor involved, there is more chance that you would hit higher, and as such, more chance that the strength amulet would activate to increase your max hit
  15. I understand the practicality of it, it just makes no sense that you can try to convert an item that is real and tangible to gold, and it just virtually disappears
  16. IHasChicken replied to compfreak847's topic in Rants
Well, forgive me for having mixed messages - as I said, the bigger the thread gets, the more confusing it gets. :(
  17. I can't believe that everyone here has completely overlooked food! Without food, basically no combat could exist, and people would be forced to fight things that are way below their level so their defence could take the hits (unless they have guthans, but for convenience sake I will group guthans in with food and some potions in the category of healing items,) which would slow down training because everyone would flock to these common monsters (such as chaos druids) There would be no KQ, KBD, GWD, Corporeal Beast, Iron or Steel Dragons, Dagganoth Kings or anything fun. Many skills would produce redundant final products, and fishing and cooking would completely die. So? Is guthans the most important thing in the world now? :o
  18. I see where you are coming from Zierro, and I do tend to agree with you partly. However, I disagree with the fact that you refer to the pures as having restricted combat abilites. I mean, come on, all you need for slayer is a bow, a staff, or a sword, and you're set. The slayer skill also has many different trainers and even within the trainers, in my opinion, the tasks adjust themself to both the slayer levels and combat levels of the people undertaking them. I'm level 98, and I have not had anything harder than a bloodveld in 10 tasks (i'm using Sumona, btw,) and I've made a mill at least from all of the herbs and half keys and pure essences and nature runes and rune items and all of the other general slayer drops. It is definitely appealing enough to the lower levelled players, so where the heck are they? :? :? :?
  19. IHasChicken replied to compfreak847's topic in Rants
As is common with many large threads, the initial statement is often overlooked and overcomplicated. He just says that in his opinion, slayer sucks - which is a perfectly reasonable point of view for one to take. You may not agree with him, you can produce a ton of facts and figures about various monsters and xp and cash rates, but the simple thing is slayer, like any skill, is loved by some, and hated by others. You would have to be very convincing to make him change his point of view, and all of the people on this forum cannot change his point of view. The only people that can are the people at Jagex, if they release an update that appeals to him enough, I'm sure he'll slay again. Nuff said ;)
  20. How can something alch for 0gp? That's not turning items into gold, that's turning items into...nothing
  21. So far I've heard a lot of discussion about the advancement of people in runescape, and the general increase in the mean level of the players - and that's just fine and dandy  However, the other part of my question was about the relative lack of new slayers. Sure, if the whole population was generally increasing in level faster than the number of new recruits, it would be expected to see a jump in the number of higher levelled people within skills such as slayer. However, I personally believe that there should not be a jump of such magnitude as I am seeing. I guess the general question should be changed to where are all of the lower levelled players in slayer? Where are all of the unfunded pures who use slayer as a means to both train, and to provide themselves with income before they jump into the wild world of pking? Are they down killing the avianses, or the dragons, or something else completely unrelated to slayer? Where are all of the new members like me, who only got so far in f2p and are looking for something new in members? I don't know, maybe i'm just ignorant, running around with my fingers in my eyes and closing my ears (wait, wrong way round  ) and there is a whole host of lower levelled slayers that I have not heard from? Who knows?
  22. When I hit high, I don't tend to thank my amulet. I tend to thank god \ But yes, I do use the strength amulet for the slight chance it gives me an extra hitpoint in damage. That's probably because my strength is not exceptional compared to my attack and def (i.e. i'm as impure as you can get, im 77/83/70,) so I don't really need the effect of the power. But, sometimes I'll throw it on, especially when I'm in a clan, because it's not how much damage you dish out, more how much you can sustain in the midst of a clan war. That's the whole point of the jagex pvp update, it doesn't favour pures, it favours people who can last the longest in a pvp hotspot. So in the old style wildy, I definitely chose strength, whereas the decision these days is a bit harder. Then again, I don't wear gauntlets or use a zerker shield, so I could be doing so much more to improve my pvp -.- Get all of that? :ugeek:
  23. Sure, that's pretty bad, but not absolutely horrid. Try a rune axe, a black dhide body, and a few natures :wall:
  24. I'm exactly the same as dan - except the "1 clue a day" limit that some people put upon themselves. I don't understand (especially with level 3's,) why people would throw such a good oppourtunity down the drain. It is literally like throwing away free lottery tickets (which I have done in the past, so I can't really talk. Stupid recycling...But anyway...) I mean if people don't want to do them, if they feel somehow pained by the decrease (or loss) in the rate of god pages, and the increase in frequency of construction items, then go ahead, don't do them. Maybe, just maybe, if everyone stopped doing clues, those construction items would become less common, and as such rise in price. And if, by some chance, they do, i'll be waiting
  25. So, the general message I'm getting is that many people are deciding to hold off slayer until they have a high enough combat level? If so, then that's really the exact point of my post, that there are an abundance of higher levels at low to medium levelled monsters such as jellies and bloodvelds and spiritual mages (if you can actually find it through all of the other dribble I put down  EDIT: Ment infernal mages. Boy, things can sure get confusing in runescape
