Tbh, splitbark armor/snare/wave spells all sound good for pvp. Max with a rune scim is 26 and it hits at about the same speed (if not faster,) than mage spells. But why stop there? I'm not saying we should introduce ancients into f2p, but how about in the spirit of adding new spells we add some "stun" spells which knock back an opponent for 5 seconds (much like the d spear spec.) These could have a cooldown, be as expensive as a teleblock, and really put some room between the mager and their target. This would even encourage hybriding in f2p, when knocked back, switch to a bow and range them down. Mage does need an update - range is for constant dps, melee is for high hits, mage needs to have it's own style too.

Yeah, does anyone else see the irony that he's calling him a pixel nerd, yet he's recalling and holding a grudge for a, quite frankly, legitimate technique that lost him like what, 5m, on a game 2 years ago? <_<

May I also suggest using a macaw & herbcall scrolls? You can only cast about once every 45 secs, (which gives more time for alching), and it drops tons of ranaar, avantoe, cadantines, irits, dwarf weeds and lantadymes. I use one on slayer tasks, for that little bit of extra money, plus the scrolls are cheap :)

Okay, speaking of things coming Waaaaaaaaaaay out of left field - how about a new f2p quest? There has not been a f2p quest release (barring the limited holiday event "semi-quests" that we only got 2 weeks to do) in a [fudge] long time, and as many people are talking and whining about the second grand master quest, wouldn't we all love a mediocre f2p quest to be our 150th? :wall: :wall: :wall: But seriously. Dragon Slayer 2 anyone? All we did in that quest was get pieces of a map, sail to Crandor, and kill a dragon. Plenty of room for improvement and expansion. Crandor is too isolated imo - there is only one way in and out, and there are only a few monsters. Maybe if they want to introduce a new skill which has a limited amount of usefulness and skills available in f2p, Crandor would be a good idea for this quest (which should definitely be a sequel to Dragon Slayer, and require all f2p quests complete as well as reasonably high levels in many skills, maybe 40s or 50s across the board in f2p non combat stats?.) Members could then use this skill in greater detail, but I think the new skill should be able to be obtained and have limited uses in f2p. Or maybe they can go in a completely different direction, and finally implement a semi-boss monster into f2p. You know, something around level 140 like the GWD minions (an older Elvarg maybe :thumbsup: ) that many people could gang up on, and finally use all of the redundant lootshare worlds on f2p (seriously, how lame is that -.- .) It doesnt need to drop any new items for non members, just let it drop a random rune item from the full set every 25 kills or so, so you can 2-4 man it and make a semi-decent income boss hunting in f2p. Or maybe it will just be another exclusively members quest. Sure it will be cool, but it'd be a bit more of the same-old same-old. It's not like members can't access f2p stuff. This may sound like I have a bias towards f2p, but I have been a member, and intend on being a member again, and I think f2p needs a little bit of a shake-up. Basically, for combat in higher levels, there is only cockroach soldiers, and pking :wall: Just a few of my ideas...

You should come to bandos or zammy gwd with forsakenmage peoples. I'm only 104 combat and i've gone to 4 bandos trips and a zammy trip. Got a 2.5m split in a 7-man bandos trip (don't ask me why we had so many people,) and an 8m split from a zammy hilt from a 6 man that turned into a 3 man at the last kill. Actually, I lied about the second one. I got a 12k split from a dragon spear, which is even rarer than a hilt :cry: :cry: :cry: Nonetheless, it is fun, and you cant beat the feeling when you get a hilt split :thumbsup: Spend that money stack on a bgs + some bandos armor if you can and get down there!

My favourite memories of runescape mostly took place in either lumby, varrock or al kharid. I had no idea about falador, or any other cities until about a month into playing. Ah, blissful ignorance... But my 6 favourite memories would be: 1. Getting gifted an ammy of defence and magic on my second day of playing ever (WOW 2 AMULETS ZOMG!) for free. I thought the defence one was sooooo cool :thumbsup: 2. Fighting a level 48 random event zombie with my newly acquired full steel from a death pile, getting it to 1hp, and dying :x 3. Trading a guy in full rune my first rune 2 hander for his rune scimmy at delrith's stonehengy thing (yes, that was noobish of me,) only for him to be k0ed by a level 20 dark wizard. Needless to say, I didn't get the sword back, but I had fun with his rune kite, helm and legs :thumbsup: 4. Selling a rune scimitar for 5k in falador park, to make my first mil (I was on 995k,) and seeing how many different trades I could get in 10 seconds. The answer - 13. The guy I gave it to was quite new to the game, so I was happy with that ;) 5. Buying death runes and chaos runes from either Aubury or Betty for cheap, back when there was no infinite stock, or fixed prices, or countdown timers from jumping world to world, getting a ton, and wholesaleing them by the stairs in varrock west bank, making a 33% profit on my money every time =D> 6. The best of all was the respawning items in the wilderness. Back when i had about 50k, I bought a truckload of nats, sat at either the earth staff or steel plate or gold necklace spawn in the lava maze, and just alched my head off. Back when there were no revs, and a quiet world in the wildy was virtually safe. I miss it so much =P~ =P~ =P~

Argh...I'm at a little over 600 birds so far, and I don't know if it's really worth it to get 4k kc. I can't do the clues i get, i have to chuck away ranaars, and I want to spend that 2m I see in the pricecheck. Give me some inspiration - tell me why I should get 4k kc. I'm not bored of the birds - I just don't like the circumstances :cry:

You've done insanely, insanely, freaking insanely well to get this far. BUT there is still a couple of problematic skills (namely slayer and runecrafting that will consume you. I suggest getting these levels up, but gradually, and interspersing them with other skills (say, getting slayer up to 80 then getting 99 craft, then getting it to 90 and getting 99 herby, and the same with the rc.) I imagine there'd be nothing worse than looking at your stat screen and seeing the last skill you need before all 99's is something slow, slow, incredibly sloooow and boring like runecrafting. Well, I guess you did that with the farming, and we all know how that turned out. :mrgreen: Oh, and by the way, what do you do with all of the money you gain from these skills (e.g. all of the red chins you got from 99 hunter) Do these all just sit in your bank, or do you actively use them to 'buy' other skills. Or do you try to make MORE money by using an economical and cost effective method for all of your skills?

This really puts me selling my santa hats and masks waaay too early in perspective. While that decision was controlled by me, your situation was out of your control. Thanks for the setup etp - I'm using EXACTLY that except for the granite shield being a obby shield (they strangely have the same defence bonuses, according to the stat comparison thingymabobby,) and using a wealth instead of a ring of life. Up to 200 KC so far. Gotten 3 clues already - It's KILLING me having to drop them. I'm dead on 200 bars after 200 birdies. Gotten 20 daggers (lol, srsly) and only one limbs so far. Good luck on killing more of those daggernauts :P EDIT: Lol, just read your comment about the excalibur. I bought mine down there, and it's so fun watching people with >1000 KC realise that they should have brought one. I also got in a heated argument with someone about the comparison of the boost with a normal defence pot. It ended up with me saying rather smugly "Well, I have it, and you don't, so bite me" and then killing 3 avianses and a gorak without taking any damage :lol:

Okay Etp, I'm using your exact setup for the avianses, except im replacing the Armadyl Body with zammy d'hide (and as a result, I have to wear the pendant of armadyl instead of a fury,) and the ranger boots with snakeskin boots. I have 70 def and 70 range. Will that work? Or should I replace the zammy d'hide with sara d'hide and wear a torag helm for that little bit of extra defence?

You should put a section in there about impetuous impulses - whether it's a good balance of hunter training and cash gain. Great guide though :thumbsup: , just gonna go do hunter as my first members only skill. Man I hate seeing that little 1 :(
