As there are already threads for July's BTS, and for Rares (which includes third age), I believe discussion of it suits one of those better. I'm locking this. Feel free to message me if you disagree. ~Romy
  2. For clarification, Jagex did not threaten to sue Tip.It, Jagex threatened to sue the article writer.
  3. I'm locking this, as there's already a thread here, as others stated. ~Romy
  4. I'm better than you because I'm that three.
  5. I'm better than you because I'm your boss-God, the God of all Gods.
  6. That's a fallacy that doesn't even make any sense to be had. How is my understanding of the holiday making me think white men are jerks? And your selective reading really makes the debate impossible.
  7. Not really, if this "Man Day" was only about the "right" things, that day would be something I'd applaud to. Because some don't/can't.
  8. you definitely implied it several times. Not once, actually. exactly, thats wat everyones been trying to tell u and magekillr. geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez! If you continued to read the rest of the post, you'd see what I meant was that what they meant doesn't equal what it becomes in reality. and thats u stereotyping again. it doesnt mean go out and drink a beer. it means celebrate ur sex, and theres obviously nothing wrong with that since they hav a womans day 2 even things out. Actually, taken from the FB page: "I'm not asking you to throw some sissy party, or to go buy a new power tie because you're a man. All I'm asking you to do is step up live this day like a man would. Blow something up, shoot some animal, punch your buddy in the face for no reason, be a good father, play football and literally knock someone's head off... Do something manly. Be a man like God intended you to be... " Read the comments and you'll see, that's what they seem to suggest.
  9. Who said that women could never participate in National Man Day? I never saw that rule anywhere and certainly in this day and age women can can choose to participate in NMD if they want to. I'm not sure what you're suggesting with that, Riku.
  10. we live in a world of stereotypes. get the hell over it and go find a way to re-word all of ur other posts. ur stereotyping men by saying that they all want to go out and be "jerks" on their holiday when u dont know what they plan on doing. for all u kno they might want to celebrate being a man by going to their mothers house and helping her fix her kitchen sink. I never once said that all men are jerks, or that their plan is to make it offensive. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure the ones that came up with this day meant it purely as a joke, and nothing more. But that, again, doesn't mean it has no impact. And it doesn't have to do with what each individual does in that day, but what's the mentality of that day in general.
  11. The problem with this day is not that it exists, but rather that it encouraged classification of what's "manly" and what isn't. And by isn't, I mean not suitable for women. It is a joke, by all means, but that does not mean it goes on unnoticed, or doesn't have impact. It expands the already existing polarity, and enlarges sexism in the same way racist jokes do to racism. It isn't different than if there was a "white race" day, that encourages white people to do what's considered "white".

  14. To be honest, I don't see a reason to respect Jagex anymore. I'm not a playing user nowdays, but if I were, I'd be frustrated at them on a large scale. They simply are not in touch with their userbase, they cannot admit mistakes (they even covered up for some mistakes with lies, which is preposterous), and they prove it time and again. I do agree with some of your points though: Many tend to blame Jagex as a whole, for mistakes done by much smaller parts of Jagex. It is also true that many tend to just bash whoever says something in the favor of Jagex. Jagex did and does some very good things - Otherwise there wouldn't be that many players playing. They make mistakes, which makes me disrespect them, but they aren't a symbol of all that's bad and chaotic in the world, as some seem to suggest. I can see where those that do respect them come from, it's not that cut and dry.

  16. I'm better than you because I don't either.
  17. Confession: I'm not a gamer. Never was. The only online game I ever played was Runescape, when I was very young, and because my ex was addicted to it. At some point he forgot all about it and I.... am still here. (I'm really not playing anymore though... )
  18. The "Man Day" is an organized day that is supposed to be celebrated by many, and show what is manly and what isn't - even if it's in the form of a joke. Men should be fishing, men should be drinking lots of beer and play sports, men should be fighting, men should be eating meat, etc, etc. Obviously, no one would stop any woman from doing these things, but it does increase the polarity between what exists, and what should exist. If that day gains any popularity - it will have impact, even if it's "just humor".
  19. Done both, though to a lesser extent. I'll try it in a more aggressive kind of way. Thanks guys, hopefully that should work.
  20. I'm better than you because my signature is in the center.
  21. Already done that. We just talked a few minutes ago. He's still into it, but he's beginning to show signs of... lack of determination?
  22. Can we stay away from violence, please?
