I was going to finish up this part of the Kingmaker campaign tomorrow but I guess that can wait until Friday or so.
-
Quick question, would it be possible to double up on an element (Say fire) to create an more concentrated beam of fire (possibly with some cutting power?).

Would it be possible for you to include descriptions of the various chips in the main post?

Thogrok son of Thog. Curse: "Necromancy" (in that he can speak with and bind ghosts [to possibly create magic items?]) Thogrok grew up in a clan that the less enlightened would slander as barbarians, hunting and trapping with his father the auspiciously named Thog. This all changed when MAGIC! came back to the world and certain things came true. In the barbarian belief cabal (from now on known as the BBC) when you died you remained as a ghost and watched over the lives of your ancestors. When MAGIC! came back this became the case and all was well in the tribe. Thogrok's gift (if you would deign to call it such) is that he can converse and bind spirits (well ghosts) making him what the tribesmen called a Shaman. Exiled from his tribe he went upon a spirit journey to discover who he really is leading up to his involvement.

Oh and if it wasn't fairly clear already I'm interested in playing (though Wednesday might be a bit problematic for me). PM me if you want any more of the systems (though I'm not sure if I can be on for awhile, depending upon if the motel has wifi or not). EDIT: Oh and 7th sea seems to be close to what you would like btw.

Another option is dice pools (ask wyvern for how they are used in shadowrun) and the Dogs in the Vineyard system which is fairly interesting.
-
Well part of the maptool problem is solved by people restarting their computers (the program is very much still in beta if you ask me). IRC is another option which is rather nice if you ask me, but unless you get a dice bot into the room all rolls would have to be taken over by the mod. If you want to take a different approach from the d20 system I reccomend either the Fate system or one of the percentile systems that fantasy flight games likes to use (you have an attribute that corresponds to whatever you are doing, certain modifiers are applied, you then try to roll under said attribute with a one hundred sided die).
-
Well you were missing a minor character Dmitri a russian engineer who's M.O. was to set any hostiles on fire with a fusion cutter (mind you this is basically a space age blowtorch). As well as a fair bit of the other members of the crew.
-
Try not to put quite so much effort into it then (that and we only get a budget every 7 days which helps a fair bit). You could use my system which is using a PM to the mod to keep all relevant data or something along those lines. I think mather makes a spread sheet and I'm not sure what the others do. In any rate it's not too late to join now.

I'm going to conclude this part of the campaign for kingmaker and then take it from there.

I'm trying to finish up this part of Kingmaker before starting up RT.
-
This should be starting up in roughly an hour and 40 minutes.
-
Nex either buy the Hard copy or PM me for details on where to buy it on the web. There's not any other options.
-
Fair warning, due to me being an uncreative hack I intend to steal HEAVILY from pretty much every book, movie or comic book that springs to mind.

Resistance if you don't want to play a game like this then I offer you a simple solution to your problems. quit whining and simply don't play. Basically you have a writ to do whatever you want outside of the bounds of Imperial space (recognized sectors) though certain things will get a kill team sent after you by the Inquisition (ie consorting with daemons or xenos rated Horrificus/terribilus/horribilus). Just remember, what's good for the goose is good for the gander (so try not to piss off rival rogue traders).

Wait, you mean all this was Hegemony crap? Take it to the Hegemony thread, then. Wouldn't want to clutter the general discussion thread with general discussion. That would just be silly. This is the off-topic thread, for all things not on-topic with any of the Tavern's normal threads - not the general discussion thread. The Hegemony arguments would, thus, go in the Hegemony thread, since the two are so closely related. The thing is, it had devolved into off topic posturing by at least one of the parties. It had nothing to do with the Hegemony game and should therefor be transfered into the back room (where we put ALL the off topic stuff).

Welcome, I would advise at least skimming through the topic for examples of play and how things pan out; I would also advise writing up a quick back story for how you (or if you are using a president/prime minister/emperor/despot) came to power in your country. You will find the rules for research and recruiting troops on the first post as well. You will want to keep a budget in a document or a private message to the Games Master (hereby known as the acronym the "GM") detailing spending, research totals, etc.

It's more of a loose governing body and conflict resolution center than anything else.

Server is up Ip: 208.106.7.22 Port: 51234 Pass: tavern Hrmm I guess it can't be helped.

Session starts in roughly a 1/2 hour.

No, retech high explosives and nukes generally don't work like gunpowder. Take C-4 for example, it can be burnt safely and can be hit relatively safely but if (and only if) you combine increased pressure and temperature will it detonate to cause an explosion and Most likely a SAM wouldn't cause the necessary stimulus. Nukes are generally a fair bit more picky than high explosives as to what stimuli are needed to detonate them (the splitting of an atom/implosion of fissile material are not caused by impact with a SAM generally). Rather they don't use SAMs because even if they could hit the nuke carrying ICBM (which is damned close to impossible) you've just distributed radioactive material into the upper atmosphere! I hope Detroit likes being even more [cabbage]ty now.

Really because I seem to remember:

Christ, have you even read the thread? I haven't done anything except reply to his posts. I've read the damned thread. I also see that if you would quit responding to said posts he would be ranting at thin air, thusly making him look like an idiot (or even more of an idiot depending upon your opinion). I also know that we have a thread dedicated towards this type of [cabbage] and you could simply move your responses there.
