Brilliant, I'm assuming those titans are the most cost effective way to summon then? I kinda really don't want to dent my bank too badly. I'm going to edit this post in a mo with calculations and hope I get them correct based on what you're saying. And ok I'll keep the golds etc..... Just need to find some way to get the 5K + swamp toads, the 270 granite bits, and then the other things I'll need. EDIT: Calculations: 5527 Barker toads = ~1,301,177exp on the 1st hour calc - 79. Or 1,148,748exp on 2nd hour - 78. Fruit Bats to 82 You said so that'll be - 5287 according to the tip.it calc, however I don't have 5287 greens D: Highest I can get with fruit bats from 78 is - between 1,084,352 and 954,992 which is - 83 The lava titans (I have 350 or so obby charms so some wont be a problem) - ~537,866 as a rough guesstimate which'll get me 85. And then I'll need 2979 crims for swamps..... Again I don't have :/ So I'll be just short, but who knows, slayer might love me. I'll pop up costs too on here. Please check my maths. EDIT #2: Costs: Shards: 5527 Barker Toads = 1,519,925gp 3745 Fruit Bats = 12,171,250gp 350+ Lava Titans = 1,916,250gp 2726 Swamps = 10,222,500gp TOTAL: 25,829,925 2nds: 5527 Swamp Toads = Free (If I can be bothered to sit for laggy hour after laggy hour picking them up) or 1,232,521gp 3745 Bananas = Free (if I can be bothered to pick them/get them for cheap from the 3 stores that sell them) or 381,990gp Lava titan = free with obby charms as 2nds. Swamp lizards = 4,699,624gp TOTAL: 6,314,135 TOTAL OF JOE'S METHOD = 32,144,069 with some exp left to get for 88. TOTAL OF OTHER METHOD = 30,327,903 I *think* I've worked that all out correctly..... hmm by the looks of it, it's more and more likely I'll get to about 80/85 before I go "TOO MUCH COST D:" And just bugger off to slay or something.

Kyatt(sp?) to pisc obelisk then cwar duelring tele is the most effective I've heard with bladewings value roughly holding true.

I know that I need to use up my blues and my crims first I assume to maximise on this double exp stuff, however what do you people recommend for me and is it possible to get to 88 from 68 with my charms? I am willing to spend the next weeks gathering the materials instead of buying off GE as I want to minimise the cost a bit. However I really want 88 summoning and so I will sell my visage if I need to (it's in the bank to stop me spending the money on crap). I am going to try and calc it here, so please if I am totally wrong please tell me and help me with this. I have: 5527 Gold Charms 3745 Greens 2726 Crim and 412 Blue And my starting exp is 631,560exp. According to my friend Dan the first hour midpoint is 2.706exp, 2nd is 2.389, 3rd 2.104. So therefore: Making 412 Mithril Minotaurs in the first hour will get me = ~648,235 exp which will get me to level - 75 Making 2726 Granite Lobster over the first and 2nd hour will net me between ~2,401,806 and 2,120,442exp netting me level - 85 Making 3745 Hydras would be next I assume over the 2nd and 3rd hours getting me between ~1,259,710 and ~1,109,430 getting me to level - 88 Is there any way that I can maximise the efficiency of this so that I do get 88 or as high a summoning level as possible? And have I picked the most efficient ways possible? Also is unicorn really better than yip? Now onto costs, the bit I'm dreading...... (only calcing shards atm, may mix in 2nds in a bit) 412 Mith minos = 3800gp in shards each time which = 1,565,600gp 2726 Granite Lobs = 4150 in shards each time = 11,312,900gp 3745 Hydras = 3125 in shards = 11,703,125 Which totals shard costs at 24,581,625gp That would leave me with ~11,318,375gp in my bank. (not including about 2m I may get from MTK and if I sell my SS or whip or DFS or cashing in ~2K slayer points) to play around with getting some 2nds. Mith bars are 1664gp each so 412 = 685,568 Granite (500g) = 370gp = 1,008,620 Water Orb = 1082gp = 4,052,090 Which totals to 5,746,278gp. Brining my bank down to ~5m or so. First things first: 1. Is a unicorn really that much better than a yip? I've read great things, but idk if it is, so I need opinions please, lots and lots of opinions. 2. Is it really worth taking my bank from ~43m or so down to 5 for this unicorn? Again this is linked to the first point...... I am an avid slayer and when I'm home I kinda want to do a bit of boss hunting. 3. Is there any other more cost efficient and quicker way for me to get all of these items before the weekend? I think ima probably look into doing the spirit kyatt and dueling ring method rather than running from pisc to the hole. And I suffer from bad lag, this will obviously shave lots of time off what I can do meaning I have even less time to get these pouches sorted, what method can be recommended to try and combat this? 4. Would you say my calculations are realistic even though I have lag? That I can get through that amount of charms in ~3-4 hours. 5. If I got my summoning to ~70 over the next few days doing barker toads would this improve my chances of getting 88 summoning quicker? 6. How many kyatts and dueling rings do I need roughly? I might go and hunt 10 or so kyatts myself and make the pouches, is this a good rough guesstimate? But I have no idea how much on the rings. What do you think people? Pony really worth this? Because at the minute I'm not sure..... Yip is good and all, but sometimes I need more and uni would be amazing, but idk..... Tell me what you think forum. I'm actually going to see if I can get 74 summoning this week or so as I can use up my golds before the weekend starts and then maximise on the rest of the exp I can get. However I doubt this will change any of my other calculations?

That's brilliant guys, thank you so much for all helping. I seem to be perfectly sorted out with the ranging. I'll most likely sell my visage and buy arma and tank with that and dfs using xbox with broads, cannon, and darts/knives/msb for kura tasks. Also my focus sight in my bank seems that it will be some use. I am currently 80K from 75 range and expect to be 76 range by 85 slayer (200K odd exp till level). Safe spotting dark beasts doesn't worry me at the moment as I can't kill them ;) but I'm 1 level off pieing them :D yippee (I say it that way because if 1 more person say "amg camp for whipz" then I most likely will cave to it and do so, Dark Beasts and 90 slayer will be nice to aim for) The only thing left is mage then. I really don't know the best way to go about it and break up the monotony of alching I really don't. I would do it during the double exp weekend, but I feel that my time would be better spent on herblore for a bit (try to get 65/70), then summoning (70-75) then the rest on slayer (aiming for 90 slayer over the next few months or so so the weekend will speed it up). The herb and summoning will probably take up most of my time however it'll leave a good bit of time to slayer. Would it be wise for me to alch during this time then even though I personally think it could be better spent slaying? Or what other options do I have? I kinda want to get to it 75/80 ASAP so I have the option to string ammy or plank make when I feel like getting extra levels. *note* I am willing to mage some slayer tasks but only if I'm sure I'll atleast break even, and I'd be willing to invest in hexcrest too to make a FSH.

Ok brilliant. I think I will go for a full slayer helm soon. I have the money for it. Does the focus have the same effect as the hex? As in does it only work on monsters you need to have a slayer level for?

Yes that PM was a brilliant help :) I managed to find a good few videos on Black demon cannoning. BTW would a full slayer helm be worth investing in? I have a focus sight, just been waiting for a jungle task for the hex.

Aye I guess that is fair enough. But at the end of the day fury is the best ammy for anything you ever want to do really. Good with the warrior ring. It doesn't take forever to get one in the GE really, but if it does for you go and buy one from Nundlion (can never spell his name) it's a couple of 100K more though. However cannoning will rip through many tasks making them take under 30 mins. Good with the EE and shield. I did AZ's and regretted not getting it through slayer, but I made a tonne of profit and charms. AZ's are amazing exp no doubt about it. So if you feel like doing it then do. You'll only get about 250K slayer exp...... but actually I say "only" that is a hell of alot for this skill. It's up to you. Speed vs skill is your choice. AZ's kick slayer right in the butt for speed.

Yea most likely you can get it. Just piety every task you can, and maybe to minimise costs and drain pray 15% prayers on pro-melee tasks like black demons. First setup: If you can get a fury then do so. The extra prayer and str will help a bit. And maybe replace obby cape with the highest ardy cape you can. SW cape if you have it, or a fire cape. ALWAYS use rune defender, take a super defence and maybe some more food if you think you need it. Much better than having to switch shields. Wealth = waste of time, keep it on warrior, but a zerker if you have it maybe even the imbued rings. Kura if in Kura Dungeon If you really need the extra defence use the verac brassy instead of the torso. Prayer: Fury again Prosy top and V skirt could be a good blend of defence and prayer. Rings: see above. Shield, only use fally shield 3 on stuff like aberrants. If you really want the exp quickly then piety alot. Make sure that you have an altar next to your garden to minimise time in house, because I'd imagine you'd powerslay and want to be quick with this. You can profit easily pietying and cannoning everything, I already am to my surprise and it's making slayer go hell of alot quicker. Quite a few tasks you can just full prosy like hellhounds, fire giants etc, if you have trouble use a super def and shove on the X2 HP restore. If you still have trouble then pray melee and 15% str and attack until yip and other prayer heals you then straight back onto piety. Good luck with it :) 99 def is well worth it.

Short term - Most people will be "Yays, m04r expzzzzzzzz!!!! :D", Herbs and shizz will go up cept for some items like the capped spirit shards. Some items will go down as people will most likely sell their stuff for herbs and stuff to exploit this (I know I might do if I stop slaying or may get 80 or so mage). Long term - People will then be all "againaginagainagainagain", herbs and co will never go back to normal - egs of prices never going back = d bones, bandos etc, Jagex will do more harm than good to the economy, however more people will profit from MTK. Herby will become even more costly with everyone buying up items and then MASS numbers of insane pots enter the economy. Yays for fail plan. Good idea in concept, but it's going to be used on the wrong skills. Slayer needs it kinda because it is a tough and slow skill to train, so does rc, but people will just herblore and summon. So YAY for cheap pots and expensive herbs - best thing to happen for my slaying since my visage :D

I'd want to go, but dunno when the trip would be :P So uni may get in the way. But hmmm, it's about 6 or more hours travelling from lampeter for me. I'd have to travel to aber (where I'd most likely get distracted by my gf anyway) and then catch the train from there to get me all the way to Cambridge. Does focus sight still have that glitchy thing that means you only get the bonuses when you attack monsters you need a slayer level for? And are you sure black dhide cuts it? I'm no range expert, heck I don't even know the values of any of the armours but isn't like any of the God dhides better? Or what about armadyal? Yea DFS does have the - bonus, but are there any tasks where I might need to tank hits with it? Also I'm considering getting a BSS as I think they've gone cheaper (been ages since I checked GE though D:) So would that be a better sub?

Nah I doubt it. They may get a few more people than normal on the weekend but surely not too many more? Don't forget it lasts from the friday to the monday which is plenty of time..... And the boost only seems to last for about 8 or so hours before it's just 1.1exp. Hmmm.... I could easily get 70-75 heblore nomnomnom :D

Haven't played for 3 years... what's that penguin deal? :D And yeah, the reason i love slayer is that it is self sufficient with potentially huge rewards. Well if you talk to Larry in Ardy he'll tell you about his irrational fear of penguins....... or is it? :o Then with that you'll have the chance to do 2 quests (you probably have the stats for them, forgotten the first one but the 2nd is Hunting for Red Raktuber or something) which'll then give you access to 2 points on some pengs with a max of 15 points, then then the 2nd one will let you spy a polar bear for an extra point. Then the maths - once you spied the pengs (threads can be found on the RSOF by Canada Girl which give the locations of them all) you can head to chuck/larry and cash them in. It's 25 X *points* (usually 16 unless I cba) = 400 (or less depends how many you spot) X *level of thing* (Slayer for me;I'll use 84 as that's when I'll cash in my pengs) = 33,600exp

That's sound advice. So I'll just keep on doing what I am doing now. No secret ninja tips for achiving slayer 93 in a week. :) Haha no, no secret ninja tips :P Trust me, If there were any I'd have used them by now. The only real tip is that if you have the cash spare/wish to lose a bit of profit would be to piety every task you think you can and cannon others. Gets some nice ranged exp and slayer exp with cannoning. And pietying with a sup attack and strength makes things go ALOT faster. Don't forget to spend penguins on slayer if you want to, a free 36K at our level isn't too bad and then at 84 we get about 2-400 exp extra I think. But yeah, Cash spare = indulge. Also if you have a task like aberrant spectres then you'll see that slayer becomes a self sufficient skill. I'm still living off the pots I made from the last tasks loot (and I now have another 188 of them to cannon ;p), so even though I spent about 400K in cballs on them they saved me about 500K in pots ;p It all makes it a very cheap economical skill :)

Well the knights are particularly dangerous tbf, so don't worry. You wont be the first or the last to die from revs. Depends what you want from your tasks. There's a thread in this forum about blocking tasks that someone dragged up from 2 years ago just to post in so take a look at that to see what some people do. However no task is really a blockable one as such, it's all just personal opinion. eg. I blocked black demons because even though I love them I can't powerslay them effectively. I still have my other 3 slots free though as there are no tasks I hate. I cancel some on how I feel like Irons, Steels, Blues, Kalphites, WF's etc, but never much. So do what you like, block what you hate.

Hmm I'd consider avis, but my uni net is always extremely laggy for me for some reason :S so I don't know whether that'd put me off on a bad foot or not? How easy would it be for them to kill me if I lagged badly do you recon? Also any epic setups etc for me to use? Oh and I blocked Black Demons - they take too long in my opinion as I want to powerslay mostly with piety and cannon to try and get 90 slayer. And hmm the dragons.... What'd be best to range them with?
