And if we're being pedantic about the prayers, piety and chivalry were commonly held beliefs by the people of the medieval period. Piety came about from crusading, donating to churches and monasteries, and pilgrimage therefore gaining God's grace and having indulgences bestowed upon you by the church decreasing your time in purgatory; so therefore it fits perfectly in with high prayer. And chivalry is the thing that's commonly portrayed as gentlemanly behaviour. *Medieval history is my degree subject btw ;p*

Ok, So then: 5025/625 = 8.02gp/exp? How come wiki's cost is so high at -13gp/exp then?

I've been speaking to IHASChicken as we were both at SC together and we'r both going for 99 smithing; and we were discussing our methods, mine being addy tips till 90, then rune scimis till 98 (according to rs wiki they're only -8gp/exp)....... I'm just wondering how I can calc it...... I'll put an example of what I've done so far trying to calc addy plates because according to chicken plates are about -8gp/exp too; however wiki says they're -13gp/exp. Exp Per Plate using sc hammer = 625exp Bar cost = 2965 Plate cost = 9840 (though I'd sell at about 9800) Cost to produce plate = 14825 COST = 14825 - 9800 = 5025. 14825/625 = 23gp/exp OBVIOUSLY I'm totally wrong; so could someone point me in the right direction and tell me whether plates would be a good way forward or if rune scims then r2h's at 98 (thanks to stouts) would be the best move. It's confuzzling me XD

Whatever update that was made to make smithing a generally non-profit skill, though tbf I don't mind making bars for profit or cballs...... Only methinks armour should be more than the bars, but oh wells, I still <3 smithing no matter the cost.

MMG is the CEO making him top dog :P though yes Andrew holds the majority of the shares in Runescape giving him the chance to sway the direction any way he pleases it is MMG who makes the real decisions when it comes down to the crunch I think....... Well actually it's generally a collaborated effort by MMG, Andrew and Paul, but I think MMG has more power than people let on. And yes, he would be committing business suicide if he didn't answer questions with safe answers. It's not his place to reveal it, it's up to the employees to tell him what to say. The feeling I get from MMG is one of people orientated business which is brilliant.

Ummmmm, hello? Have you recently tried creating an account? There is no way that they can authenticate your real age, it doesn't take a genius to put their birthday as "21st January 1980" or something into their box asking for age. So then 8 year old + half a braincell + a calculator + a friend encouraging him = An account that can turn on and off the filter and they can swear to their little hearts contents. You would honestly see just millions of accounts on F2P GE going "[bleep], [cabbage], [bleep], [bleep], bastard, [bleep], *giggle*" then it's just rinse and repeat. So therefore many of the more adult players (which this would be intended for) would end up having it off being back at square one, with immature little kids swearing their little hearts out. You will only see a bunch of stars if you turn on your filter and you can always just put them on your ignore list. I don't see the problem. The problem is effort my dear child, effort. A. Why should Jagex create an update that will only be abused? B. Why should I have to take the time and effort to block communications to people? C. Why should they impede my freedom of speech with their abuse of a system?

Or you could just toggle the filter to 'on' and mind your business. I'd imagine that swearing would be more or less frequent, but censor evasion would drastically be reduced because it's now pointless. And how can you speak for the adult players? Some people would have a problem with it, yes, but those are the same people that can just toggle their filters back on anyway. Runescape is infested with immature players, and it always will be. If you have a problem with that, then you need to be doing something else with your time, to be perfectly honest. You can always turn your chat off at the GE if it bothers you that much. Why should I have to switch the filter on when it's an update designed for those people with more than half a braincell and about 16 or so years of life behind them? The update would be intended for those of us with age, not those who have friends and can calculate that someone born in 1991 is 18 or 19. Also why should I have to stop my discussion because some child is yelling swear words all the time? I have personally never used F**K or S**T on the game, I vent my frustration to Chee, Draz, Iyis, Serp etc when they're on MSN instead or them to me, so why should we let children be able to do it? And again the point comes up that, why should they infringe on my playing? On an update designed for the freedom of speech? And yes, haha! You should drop by a conversation between draz, iyis, chee and myself if you wana see how immature, random and disturbing people can be; but that's where it should stay, in private on an IM and off a game.

No it's not that..... It's the fact that young kids would deliberately make accounts with fake ages just so they can turn it off and swear..... which would then lead to frequent abuse, and in a worse case scenario it could lead to bullying. Also they'd have to resort their whole Report Abuse system. TBF most of the words they censor are fair enough really like sex, vagina, penis, swear words etc..... it's only words like peff I'm confused at. But no one really on RS would talk about their sex life or their bodily parts on there, it's what MSN is for..... private conversations with good friends. So therefore there should be no need to take out the system. Good idea in principle, Bad idea in practise. EXAMPLE: Another thing is that *IF* I wanted the censor taken out and I switched it off and was having a sensible conversation with Draz on RS instead of MSN or Facebook or text him why would I want some kid in the GE spamming swear words and stuff? It's so much easier just talking to him on there where we can have private conversations and if we feel like swearing to vent we vent. Also I wouldn't like the idea that Jagex would be able to see the logs if they chose of the conversations. With MSN I feel secure that Draz (or whoever I'm talking to) and I are the only ones to know about it........ idk, safety and abuse make it bad. Many find cannonballs a good, if a little slow way of doing it. Gold ore is good and fast and expensive unless you're going to use the bars for crafting (which I do by using gems from thieving rogues den safes). That's my preferred method but depends on whether you want those arrowtips and dart tips yourself for slayer or something. Mith bars might be your solution. Cannonballs are slow, plus he needs something for an anvil Sorry my bad, missed the hammers bit :???: No problem, I generally did cannonballs for levels, but though I adore smelting more than using anvils I wanted something more instant for my levels; and 99 smithing is the first 99 I've ever wanted........ Would it be wise to do addy bolt tips till 88 using sc hammers; or sell my dfs and whip (doing alot of skilling recently), cash in 3.5m worth of slayer points, keep doing mtk, and then use the money from that to do mith plates from 77 to 88, then addy from 88 to 99? Also any idea how many SC hammers I'll need?

With a little luck, it would have been platelegs and hundreds of k's more :P With a little more luck than that, it could have been a visage and millions of gp more :P

New question - Would mith plates be a massive loss till 73, where I would addy bolt to 77, sell my dfs etc gather my cash then plate all the way to 99?
