I've recently been considering getting 80 range and 80 mage. It'll A. Make my combat stats look a little nicer, B. Allow me to effectively try and get to Nomad when I start NR, C. It may allow me to boss hunt a little, and D. I'd like them that high tbf. So do you guys have any ideas how I can do this easily via slayer or something else? I don't really wana chin or burst because I suck at luring and knowing me I'll just afk it looking at the forums then go back to find a deaded me. I currently have a 213 or so daggonoth task so that'll be about 30K range exp as I'll cannon them. With maging is there any alternative to alching at my level? and how long will it take? At 80 mage I'd then consider getting 93/94 (whichever it is for veng) using string ammy. Any idea on a ball park cost for this? Any help with ideas on how to train these 2 slow skills would be much appreciated.

Have you gone through everything Otto has wanted you to do up to the point of you needing to kill a mithril dragon in the ancient cavern? You need him to tell you to do that and get chewed bones to be able to go through the whirlpool. And Transcript is right. Range pray and run. Warriormonkx wrote an epic guide on how to outsmart these dumb NPC's and kill them. ALWAYS wear black dhide when doing a clue :P It helps majorly with sara wizards, zammy mages, and revs. Always have food and anti-poison too. :)

1. You don't need to be able to craft Broad-Tipped Bolts to use them which is the reason so many people use them. If you're going to use any bolts to range make sure you do use Broads or mithril ones and use the money you will save on prayer and range pots (especially for that 15% prayer) 2. Yes you do need to do the barbarian firemaking. Talk to Otto in a house on Baxtorian falls, and NO you don't need a task from Kura to get in there otherwise that'd just be silly. (Also getting the fairy rings makes things a hell of alot EASIER ;p and you only need to start the quest to get them :) ) 3. After I got 99 defence I started using my rune defender again instead of my DFS and I was shocked at how good it was. It is definitely worth getting one of them. And as for tokens, I don't know. It took me about 1.2K of them to get all the defenders then 2 rune ones. 4. Definitely get summoning to 68. No matter what. Bunyip is so worth it. As for charm guides etc, I think the people on here know their stuff, but it can be slow and extremely expensive which is why I use this now: Summoning It makes it alot simpler. Simply whack in your charms and off you go ^^ 5. Axe Man Jack covers the question about quests perfectly in his guide in the AoW. So I'd say go and look at that. However it's choice for some of them. I personally haven't done some so I don't get the monsters, like Scarabites or Warped Terrorbirds. However a recent one to defo try to do is Nomads Requiem. The cape is Epic! Hoped I helped a bit :)

Whip + Defender if you have it on controlled to make your levels equal then decide what level you want to 99. I did that to get my melees to 75 then went after defence. :) Gl.

This has happened to me: Just wondering how the hell I'd go about doing/getting that clue.... No idea how it's even possible :S Is this some kind of glitch/joke I don't know about? Usual melee setup. I use: Slayer helm, Torag plate body and legs, Fury, Barrow Gloves, D Boots, Whip + Defender if training attack, SS if Str. Defence Cape. You'll cut through them pretty easily tbf. Can't see your stats atm as I think my lappy is messing up; but, take 2/3 yips. 2 Pure sets (don't worry about sup def, they drop plenty of them), some food, teleport, maybe 4 or so waterskins. Using that I can get through about 150 of them. The only real damage I take is from the desert should I decide I cba with getting the waterskins (this is where the monks come in), but they drop them enough. Gl with a focus sight.

It starts with this. "Just the ability to get this one task". People who have 85 slayer will do all the things you said: Critcizing, complaining, kvetching, bemoaning, griping, moaning, wailing, disagreeing and disapproving until they can have demons assigned to them by sacrificing a few slayer points....... Though actually this isn't a good example as they're campable....... Hmmm..... Jungle/desert Strykewyrms? Basically any monster that HAS to be task assigned to kill will be moaned about until it's put on this list. After that point what will the point in slayer be? You can get the tasks if you have the levels, and you can camp the others when you have the level..... The what will slayer actually achieve? Nothing really. At 85 I can see people going "right then, that's it." *camping* And then just going to Soul Wars or something to get it up quickly. They have managed to create an amazing piece of content then destroy it a few weeks later. =D> I wasn't sure if they could do it; but my God they showed me.

Is there any possibility that I can kill Nomad with my stats (ignore the fact that I don't have the quest reqs yet) I'll probably be using the whole: Neitz, Prosy Body, Prosy legs, D Boots, Zammy Stole, SS, Barrows Gloves, Ardy cape 2 (Don't wana risk my fire cape anywhere anymore now I have a defence cape, but I still wear my RoL :S) And: Sup attack and strength Holy Wrench, House Tab, 6 Prayer pots. I've been into the GWD before only mostly for Avi killing or Bandos with Hemen or 1 RSOF Mass (never again with a mass). But I didn't think I could lay down the rope for the sara area as I don't have 70 agility? Also what is worth picking up there? D boots are the obvious thing, but I have no idea what else might be good. And is it really worth it to substitute the fury for the stole? You gain 5 prayer bonus, but you lose 10 attack bonus.

Reading through the post on the RSOF by Mod Chris L, it seems like it's going to be a highly glitch update....... You can use points to get a task? To me that calls out that people will go "right pay for one now" *does task* *Does another task (so that the whole masters can't assign same monster twice thing isn't a pain)* *goes back and pays for another* This now makes me think they're going to kill off slayer. With this technical buying of the skill using points I wouldn't be surprised to see people on RSOF Critcizing, complaining, kvetching, bemoaning, griping, moaning, wailing, disagreeing and disapproving about it until they can have say Abyssal Demons put on this list of "buyable tasks" Then there could be more Critcizing, complaining, kvetching, bemoaning, griping, moaning, wailing, disagreeing and disapproving if it's a high value of slayer points because it'll eat into peoples profits/stop them cancelling/blocking tasks. This to me is one of Jagex's worst choices to date. So much so, ima actually walk to Sainsburys because A. I'm hungry, and B. It's half in disgust of reading about the update on my computer.

Agility is obviously Wildy course..... Maybe Brimmy if you have time to kill, but if you want it ASAP then Wildy all the way. Get 75 at Wildy if you feel like it. It means that when MEP3 comes out you'll have high enough agility that should you need to train it you can do it at Ape Toll without failing. Construction is Oak Larders..... I'm considering getting my Cons up too to 60. Hunter: Red Salamanders, hands down. *I've forgotten your stats now whilst I'm writing this* If you can summon an Arctic Bear then do so. According to Valuxi you can get about 70K exp/hr Crafting: I'd say the same as Atronic..... Don't forget to use your Varrock stuff to get the max Bstaves from Zaff per day and make them into Air or something. Herblore: Definitely super attacks and super energy potions are the least cost. If you want to reduce it further then make sure you do MTK with 10 on Herbs and 5 on Fish. The fish pay for the 2nds you need for the pots, and if you slay, the amount of sup attacks, strs, and prays you can make makes slayer an extremely self sufficient and profitable skill. Smithing: Mith bolts are the cheapest, maybe go onto plates when you can for the faster exp...... But if you want smithing high go with Mith bolts/tips, then addy bolts when you can, then addy tips. WC: Atronic got this perfect. Ivy will take you a few AFK hours. Farming: This is up to you. I personally dislike the skill a bit because of the running so I only do trees and fruit trees. You can do 2 tree runs maybe 3 (depending on how much of an insane/insomniac of a person you are) and 1 fruit tree a day. This makes the exp go like crazy. I'm currently thinking of going for 70 to get the Varrock diary, but I've slowed down as slayer is taking all of my time recently. Herbs if you have the patience. Other than that farming is a money drain, but it's alright. Don't forget you can boost stats to start some quests like WGS; however I wouldn't advise this as by the time the squeal to the quest is released you'll need that stat and higher. Also Penguins every week give some good exp. And for alot of the skills you can make it go much more faster with the help of SC tools. Smithing will go mega quick with hammers; so will Cons. Crafting with the needle, and wc with the hatchets. It'll take you half the time, and save you atleast half of your money when it comes to smithing etc. Good Luck on a cape that's now got the respect it deserves :)

I'm now currently 100K or so away from 84 slayer, (about 70K if you take off the pengs ima get tonight)..... But I still haven't had a spirit mage task. I'm getting a bit bored of the general rigmarole of my tasks and want to try out my new creature badly (it's taking me alot to not go and pie abby demons, so these are torture). So what setups etc would be best just to go for a trial run of 100 or so Spirit Mages? NOTE: I am currently training strength to 85 so therefore will be using a Sara Sword at most times..... well actually..... all times. Thanks for any help as I'll be using the setups you suggest for a slayer task when Kuradal eventually is kind enough to gift me one. :)

You can't get assigned them unless you're wearing a cape... If you could, then I actually might agree with the whiners. Wow, really? Then what's the issue? GAH! Sometimes, I really hate people. :wall: It's the fact that they don't have the cape yet might have the level so they can't get a 10m+ (didn't bother keeping an eye on it) staff to sell on the street for 50m+? Therefore because they can't be assigned them that's discriminating that is. :wall:

I don't care what people think on here, but this is my personal feelings and therefore my reply to the thread: "I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT BELIEVE THIS! :o I AM OUTRAGED AND UTTERLY DISGUSTED AND DISAPPOINTED IN JAGEX :@ Jagex you have once again given in to the whiners and the whingers of the game that actually do make up the majority. So far, from everything you have done this year, it seems only correct to quote Aneron from Tip.it: "heaven forbid you have to do something that takes just an ounce of skill to access content in this game". The only thing that seems to have stayed the same is the difficulty of Nomad; however I wouldn't hold my breath too long for fear of passing out. I am utterly appalled that you would do this..... On something that has given such good feedback! EVERYONE on TIF has praised you for the high level slayer update. Yes the first few days caused murmurs because of the fire cape achievement; but then it dawned on people. Those who have 93 slayer.... Surely to God by then SHOULD be able to kill Jad..... That one about the 4 areas of the SoS is really cool. But..... Which one of them is War? (yes I have been geeking out about Darksiders the game, so has Draz..... It's amazing). Anyways, I think they got Zamorak from one of the knights of the round table - Sir Lamorak. I just hope you know that underpowered/overpowered has nothing to do with how slow or costly a skill is to train....... There goes 75% of your argument right there. Open these two links in different tabs and compare the defensive stats: Range gear and Mage gear It's not much of a difference at all in defensive stats. btw the fact that armadyl is (in some people's opinion) the hardest boss in gwd and uses range doesn't mean anything because well last time I checked kree wasn't a player.... Yes I do know that being under and overpowered have nothing to do with how slow etc it is. If you read my post you'd see that I was merely illustrating why Rangers should not get something new when they have so many different methods of training and killing open to them, especially over powered forms; whereas mages don't. Maybe you didn't read it thoroughly enough, or my points got lost in transition, I don't know. But still. I also based my arguement around what I quoted above with one guy saying that range is extremely underpowered. And unfortunately the links opened with blank setups. Tell me what your setups consisted of and I'll take a look. And no Kree isn't a player, it's merely a fact showing how something using range can be extremely powerful. Also the fact that you have to use range to kill it should speak volumes too.

NO, Just just NO. *especially to the part above* I think range really has enough things at the moment really. It's more the magers they have forgotten about; but are slowly bringing them back into the fold. Mage takes forever to level really, I mean honestly who wants to sit there for 4 hours + doing 16 THOUSAND alchs to get from 70 - 75 mage? Or cast thousands upon thousands of spells to try and level whilst in PvM? In PKing Mage is up there with range and melee. *Awaits people to tell him he's wrong* - But still. I've run about PvP worlds for the heck of it just annoying people with my dds and I've been owned as a target by people using Mage to freeze me, range to hurt me badly/even kill me. Mage where PvP is concerned is very powerful. But still, range is one of the most powerful things I've seen..... I've never PK'd before in my life really, and I thought I'd try it once, so I went to an F2P world and tried it out. Someone with 99 range and 45 defence in a deathmatch (or whatever they're called where you're not allowed to eat or pot), beat me with 99 defence and 75 attack and strength. I've then seen pictures of people like Bruno taking people out in a couple of hits using void and handcannons. Therefore ranged is very powerful when it comes to PvP already. In PvM? People maging have no chance. It's such a mundane boring, costly, skill. Which is the exact reason why the SoL and BA trident were released. To try and give mages some help in PvM. Also I've seen more 1 def 99 range pures than I'd ever want to see. Each one of them saying that defence is an obsolete skill as they can take it out too easy with the range. Also the fact is that with range you can train so easily to 99, mage you can't. Rangers have what at their disposal? Knives on rapid - check. Cannon at daggs/anywhere else that's good exp - check. Chins - check. Range needs nothing else. Absolutely nothing. And just as a sign of that..... What boss monster do people consider the best and most powerful in GWD? None other than the Armadyal Guardian.... who surprise surprise uses range. If Jagex release a Dragon Crossbow, in my opinion, it'll be both their and my time wasted because it'll just cause a skill to become even more over powerful. Range is something that needs to be left alone for a while now to try and re-address mage. If you don't like it then go raise your melee stats. And MHL, Range doesn't have to rely on safespots. It relys on equipment. If someone has Armadyal, Focus Sight (if slayer tasking)/Arma helm, Range Boots, Barrows Gloves, Fury, Accumulator or whatever the best thing in cape slot is, Archers Ring(i) and a DFS/Spirit Shield of any description then they're pretty well covered for damage from monsters. People choose to safespot. Then again, another way is that cannoning..... I turn off my auto retaliate whilst cannoning so all I get is ranged exp because I need it..... I have gone from 70 to 74 ranged so far using a cannon, it's easy, doesn't cost too much, and I've not had to safespot it.

What can I say....... This weekend is going to be amazing by the looks and sounds of it. First off I'm going to be seeing my amazing girlfriend for yet another weekend. It's brilliant. The second reason is that we're going to be seeing MACHINE HEAD!!!! That's right, we're going to the Black Procession tour that they're holding, so on this sunday think of me at 6:30 going into the O2 arena in Birmingham, and then for the next 4 hours having my senses bludgeoned and beaten by wave after wave of awesome metal.... and also probably getting beaten in a mosh pit somewhere. It will be amazing....... however I was so GUTTED with All Shall Perish pulled out of the tour :( that was depressing, but still MH better play Halo and Imperium..... if they do I will be in heaven. Yay, come back Duanienub! :D Anyways, I was blinded by delusions of grandeur when you were texting me because I thought you had tonnes of cash. Anyhoos: 1. Prayer to 70 = piety = amazing. Do the quest, and the knights waves and you'll be sorted. Maybe even go one step further and show me up by doing Temple at Sentissien. 2. 68 Summoning is essential. The bunyip is so worth it. (I can remember a time when I said to you it was useless leveling etc, I was wrong and you were right man). 3. Whip + Defender = Best slayer weapon and shield ever. DFS only if you have the cash to spare :P 4. Dharoks/Torags Plate and Torags legs/Verac Skirt = best for heavy duty tasks..... Maybe even go with Verac Brassard if you want extra prayer bonuses to piety everything. Oh and make sure to have Karils for any WF or Bloodveld tasks. Makes it so much easier than Black Dhide. 5. Prosylite(sp?) Armour is essential too. Maybe try getting a few achievement diaries done, like Fally for extra prayer stuff to help on Abby Spectre tasks. 6. Furys are worth it in my opinion, just like barrows gloves. Make sure to do RFD and get them gloves, they make a hell of alot of difference, and Fury is a major good piece of equipment; but with prices being so high maybe go for Glory? 7. Rings..... now this is a tricky topic for myself. Ever since I got my fire cape I've been paranoid about dying so I've worn a ring of life religiously since then. However warrior and Zerker both have their advantages and disadvantages. Decide wisely. 8. Cannon. Always a good nice little thing to have. They speed up many tasks and give good range exp. If you have money left over get one of these, 5K cballs and top up when you need to. 9. Slayer helm, you know the drill. Afterall this is your favourite skill :P No point going for full yet seeing as Hex and Focus are inflating and demand is so high on GE you wont ever get one. 10. Super pots. With your stats I think it would be wise to invest in a few super sets. They speed up tasks incredibly, and when used with piety you destroy everything. 11. Zamorakian Spear/Sara Sword. This is a choice up to you. Again; both have advantages and disadvantages. If you wana train strength then I believe sara sword leaves D Scim in the dust. And therefore if you get that you eliminate the need for ZS for WF tasks as you have one of the best crush weapons in the game. 12. On a side note after all that; if you're feeling lucky why not try and get your mage to 70 and maybe try Jad. Fishing Cape (ut) Is good enough - basically an obby one - but unless you trim for the the 4 prayer bonus try getting a fire cape? Also linked with one of the points above would be to get the highest ardy cape you can as they're good prayer bonus and they're free therefore if you die and lose it it's no worries. I think that's about it matey. Now get back to slayer. I expect to see you working hard to catch up to my 83 slayer! :P <3:
