  1. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the newest Die Hard. Saw World War Z today. I liked it. I especially enjoyed Brad Pitt's performance.
  2. I watched Wish You Were Here last night. It's a 2012 Australian film. Kind of a strange story. You almost don't know what's going on the entire time because the writers choose to give the audience the most minimal amount of information imaginable as we watch the truth slowly unveil itself through flashbacks as the pressure builds on Dave (Joel Edgerton) to protect his family. Not sure how I'd rate it yet.
  3. I've moved the idea along to the next step, which is basically administrative approval. I encourage anyone who has yet to voice an opinion to do so before the weekend is over.
  4. I'm just making sure I give everyone a chance to speak before we push this along further, I don't want anyone to feel like voice doesn't matter.
  5. If there is any opposition to moving Falador Tavern to a subforum of Forum Games, please speak now.

    Today...

My favorite cheap beer, is free beer. I came up with a few goals for summer which are to learn Processing + Cinder. I've already started with Processing earlier last week as I found a Coursera class for it online. I'm hoping to start working with Cinder by mid July.
  7. I'm not familiar with past discussions, but regardless, if there is a majority for the move, I can make a strong push for it to happen. We'll let the discussion for this go until late next week (Th-Fri), so it gives everyone enough time to voice their opinion.
  8. Would you guys like to become a subforum of Forum Games?
  9. Glad I got to see the Kings won at least 1. I've only ever paid the most minimal amount of attention to select west coast teams, so I have very little interest in Chicago or Boston, but I'm going to try and watch the rest of the series if I can.

Everyone's an alcoholic to a nondrinker.
  11. The finale didn't really do much for me besides confirm what happened to Theon and set up an easy transition into season 4.
  12. If you want the highlights, just check out Polygon http://www.polygon.com/
  13. I wish EA would have said they were going to take on Star Wars 1313. I liked Battlefront, but it wasn't anything special to me.
  14. MGS Revengance was like a side project as it wasn't developed by Hideo Kojima like the main series.
  15. IIRC they didn't list it as exclusive. It will likely be cross-platform. And with the announced pricetag of $499..well, yeah It was already announced for the PS4, but it's still a huge swing at Sony's die-hard fanbase.
  16. Metal Gear Solid 5 on Xbox is huge. The Metal Gear series has been one that has keep me with Sony all these years.
  17. I like the Heat better in this series. The Spurs are a fantastic team, but I just think at some point in this series, fatigue and age is going to play a factor on someone on the Spurs, so I'm going to call it Heat in 6, and I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to 7.
  18. I can see the series going either 6 or 7 seasons long so by the end of a 7th season I can see it happening like the end of the film Kingdom of Heaven where as soon as you feel the story is resolved, all of a sudden there is this new call to action from the Starks against whomever wins the throne. Similar to the Targaryen storyline.
  19. It wouldn't surprise me if late in the series once the young Starks mature into adults, that they come back with vengeance against anyone that is still remaining that caused harm to their family and continue this endless cycle.
  20. I had heard a little about the episode before I saw it, so I wasn't as shocked when everything happened. [spoiler=spoiler]I can't see how the North will recover from this tragedy, or even who inherits Winterfeld as to two youngest sons are suppose to be dead to the outside world, Jon Snow is in the Night's Watch and can't inherit (I think?), which then leaves Sansa as the hier of Winterfeld.

Depending on the field, this is true. In science/engineering, it is much better to have a degree. Although, you need work experience too, like internships or research at university. Neither are insanely hard to get, as long as you have at least a 2.5 GPA. There will always be exceptions and the science/medical field is a great counter at the entry level. Specifically though, I was referencing fields of craft like computer science/engineering, journalism/english, design/art studies, etc. The guy that contributes frequently on Github, has a better chance then the guy with a great GPA & transcript. This isn't to say a BA is useless, it's just when you're comparing two people with the same BA they're going to cancel each other out.
  22. I'm disappointed the Kings are down 2-0. I hope they are at least able to put off a win or two and avoid a sweep.

With so many of us acquiring bachelor degrees, we have evolved into a society that views a person's portfolio greater then their resume.
