I really enjoyed the pilot episode for the chemistry between the two leads was spot on. I'd be curious to learn what the budget for the show is. Networks can spent millions on just the pilot episode, so it'd be interesting to see if the production quality is maintained throughout the season.

There isn't much of a reason to get either the PS4 or One this soon. Most of the games that have been hyped for the systems won't even be out until mid-way through 2014.

Why can't I like this post? The option was there for everyone but this post. Weird. Anyhow, that explains all the fake facebook profiles I keep seeing. Likely people trying to mimic the linked story. Very interesting Weird. This is that one time I wish I could edit his post to see what happened..

They made a lot of improvements in '12 & '13 to increase the realism of the series. Attacking was the focus of '13 so yeah, coming from '10 it's going to be a bit of a challenge until you master the new controls and whatnot.

I just read that the show is suppose to crossover with where ever the new Thor movie leaves off, which probably just means the folklore of the show is updated to stay current.

Movies are cool, but the centerpiece to the movies are the superheroes. Shield should be able to stand on it's own without relying so heavily on it's movie counterparts when they aren't going to feature the assistance of it's superheroes. And like you mentioned Kaida, they hinted at the possibility of a super villain, which I can't see our team of shield agents being able to defeat without some sort of assistance either from a superhero, or the main group of shield agents from the movies.

I wish broadcast TV would focus more on 13 episodes seasons, especially for a show like AoS where quality matters. There is still very little context to the world of AoS, and it relies to heavy on superheroes without having any. I also find the actor who plays Ward to be annoying. I think if they got someone else in there that wasn't so robotic, it could greatly improve the dynamic of the cast.

The cost of traveling for a month is going to depend entirely on you're expectations. What kind of boarding do you want? How much drinking do you plan on doing? Museums? Souvenirs? etc. I've done two weeks before on about 60 euros a day, which doesn't include my travel and boarding, but I found that about perfect for my day-to-day expenses. If you haven't considered it, check out programs like Contiki, Yacht Week, etc. They're great ways to see the sights, meet people, and have a great time, with little risk. Which is great if it's you're first time abroad. I did a Contiki trip the second time I went to Europe and I found it to be a blast. You not knowing a language isn't a very big deal, just try to learn basic greetings out of curtsy. Pointing and smiling can get you pretty far, and most people are very friendly in general, even Parisian despite popular belief.

Sometime in the spring is when it should start up. I don't think a date has been given yet.

The car transforming into a flying car at the end was my breaking point, the show was way to corny and niche for a primetime slot on ABC, imo. If it does well these next two weeks in ratings, expect it to be renewed.

Sleepy Hallow isn't bad. It's nice how they embrace how crazy the story is. I was also impressed with Blacklist. Brooklyn Nine-Nine had a good premiere but I didn't notice myself laughing out load as much during it's second episode (I'm also fighting a cold this time around so I wasn't as invested in the ep). SHIELD played like a corny 60s sitcom. Fox's Dads also blew. Hostage looked like it's going to turn into a primetime soap opera as it tried to cover ever emotional angle.

Agreed ^^ Weed is such a minor drug to be concerned over, but because it's such an accepted drug and it's legalization varies from place to place, it's the easiest one to get people wild-up over, which is why we're ignoring the references to harder drugs in the game. No one wants to discuss cocaine, meth, etc etc because it's already so widely decided that they're horrible drugs.

I don't really know if I'd say GTA5 glorifies weed, but maybe you're farther along then I am, but the the only real drug moment is when Michael is have some crazy hallucination where you have to kill aliens. Otherwise in my opinion, weed has been casually referenced similar to other mediums.

I got a RPG kind of story. I went drinking with step-brother this past weekend and was bought drinks by some random cougar, later that same night I ended up at a house party full of 18 year olds where I was playing wing for my buddy, but turned out he was friend zoned, so the girl he was interested in was all over me that night. Kind of awkward, but I'm glad to know I can pull women of all ages in rural America.

I saw Elysium earlier. It felt rushed, and underdeveloped. Not to mention a few other things too, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it.

I half-assed watch Lore (Australian/German film) over the past two nights (only a 109 minute movie). It was a very unique story of surviving Germany after Hitler's immediate death. I won't give it a rating until I'm able to give it a proper watch.

What takes up less data streaming or downloading?
stevepole replied to Miner_Guy's topic in Tech and Computers
Are you able to check your usage? If you can I'd suggest streaming an episode of a TV show, then download that exact same episode and see which one used up more data. In regards to the internet cap discussion, I've never used an internet provide that caps their internet. I also recently helped my brother move into an apartment in SF and he get's 100mbps with no cap for $50 a month. It was wild, but I guess that's what you get when you have an apartment in the same neighborhood with twitter and what have you. -
I watched Trance and The Place Beyond the Pines this weekend. Trance was a bit different of a movie, reminded me a bit of Fight Club at the end. I heard a lot of buzz around Pines when it hit theaters but never had the chance to see it. It was definitely worthy of the hype. Good film that sends you on this full circle journey. Edit: also watched The Fall, a new BBC series this past week. I'd recommend everyone to give it a watch. It can be found on Netflix.
