I'll throw my personal opinion straight out there to begin with, as a maxed player and long time veteran I hate the wheel and much of the whole change Jagex has been experiencing. But never the less I don't mind reading interesting topics on near anything and I enjoyed looking at the data you presented. I usually choose not to post as much of what I could say has already been said before hand, but I think you deserve a "thanks" for the post. Especially since it seems you've gotten heavy flame from the community around here o.o. Data collection, normally on anything, sucks. Especially on the wheel where you can spam click a red button and be done with it. I'm sure there can be a drawn out discussion on motives (but Randox has made it clear twice the conversation is over), but no matter the motives NukeMarine took his time to collect data and post it and a little gratitude for someone's time and effort is important. Honestly I was more interested in seeing the Dragon Ceremonial and Queens Guard you got :P. Been really wanting the ceremonial set from spins straight from skilling and seems you got it pretty easily. I also think it is interesting you didn't get any rare or epic items that weren't "themed" items, such as lucky items, swag items, etc. Seems there rate has been dramatically reduced in place of the new themed items and by your data the reduction is much larger then I would expect.

Going to likely do something similar today with either span or slayer, haven't decided yet. Will be an earlier night though as I'll be the lab all of next week.

I've started back slaying again and plan to do a mix of nolife slayer and Runspan with mad necklace this weekend. I may also try to get some dungeons in, depends if team finally wants to go. Got up early this morning for the QBD update, which didn't happen until about 3 hours after I woke up. I managed to get a royal top with 10 to 15 minutes of update and sell it for 3mil XD. Not really happy with QBD, a good amount of luck goes into it with not getting comboed out and really don't enjoy bosses like that. Never had a good problem, always had a problem of going from 900-0 near instantly. Took me about 5 tries to finally kill her this afternoon: Pretty poor loot, but atleast I got my comp cape back (after having to unlock the glitched music track, which wasn't fun). I went to watch Men in Black 3 (which was pretty good) and ended the night with a few dungeoneering floors. Tomorrow is my last day off before I start back at the lab again. Not sure how much I'll be on, need to actually do some work around the house on my last day off, will atleast try to get some slayer in.

Well I've done a very poor job of updating daily again. Mostly to blame for an uneven sleep schedule where I go to bed when I feel like it and wake up when I want so I never feel like posting then. Trying to get back in a routine this week since I'll start back at the lab Thursday. So far I've done a mix of slayer, runespan, and some other combat this week/weekend. I managed to get 50mil Strength for my 9th skill at 50mil on 5/28/2012: Today I also manage to pass 30mil slayer experience too: Slayer has been disheartening for me lately with a lot of skipped tasks and bad tasks in a row so I did a bit of nonslayer combat to test money making methods and just have some fun. I don't want to get my combats too far ahead of slayer though so trying to keep to slayer. I tried logging my points per Quyneax's request, but the starting points were hard to get for each day as it actually required a trip to Kuradal or a slayer master, so I've just started including my skipped tasks in my log now as a reference to what tasks I'm getting and skipping. Here is my current up to date slayer log: Looking forward to QBD tomorrow and I'm going to try and make a day of nolife slayer and get back to my nightly posting here ^_^

What is people issues with the lamps? Do you not like getting the lamps instead of the 50 gp spins? If people want to pay for 99 in a skill via SoF, good for them. You shouldn't be angry at these people just because they have the extra money to spend on the wheel when you won't. My personal issue with the lamps is the ability to buy experience, not because I cannot, but because it doesn't make for a totally level playing field. I very much hate pay to win games (p2w). Which are games that to compete you literally are forced to spend real money to buy equipment/slots/level buffs/etc, otherwise you have no access to it. Now the Squeal isn't p2w. They are small boost, but it is that slippery slope effect I don't like. Which is it isn't that hard to slide a bit farther and have pay for items, etc. If Jagex has been really listening to feedback, I think the main concern I hear is the ability to in some regards buy experience via the wheel. Personally that is my complaint too. The way to make me more "ok" with the wheel is to decrease lamp chances and increase cosmetic or small cash rewards from it. Personally I don't mind if someone spends $200 on spins if they get a fancy hat I'll likely never get. I think both the community and Jagex can win on a compromise on an increase in cosmetic rewards and a decrease of experience. People that want the cosmetic rewards and have the spare cash will be more inclined to spend (waste?) it on spins if they believe there chances are actually going to be good now and I don't have to read arguments that it is more efficient experience to work 40 hours a week at a job that pays $20 an hour and spend surplus money on spins for experience then actually playing the game. I suppose that is a bit of a tangent, but it is my hope that Jagex still listens.

Managed to gain over a mil experience in Runecrafting (also some swtor time). Now today I plan to do a mix of both, will see how the day goes :P. Here is my slayer tab as of half way through the other day: I sold a part of it after this picture so sadly I won't be able to keep a consistant slayer log. This is because I am slaying on a shoestring a bit, and I'm curious if it will be profitable/stay profitable. Currently (with large effort of banking bones and ashes) it is profitable. My main goal is to make slayer profitable without losing too much efficiency in the process and I've kept decently to it. I just hope it continues ^_^.

Both green and drumgun are over 1400 days. everyone else is below 1200 that is relevant, i believe s diamant y and maybe some cwer that i dont recall have more than 1200. And that's a lot of playtime for their xp. Nearly makes me feel efficient L. Jmods have to tell them there playing time, the only way they know I'm nearly sure. It has been quite awhile since I've looked at the thread that info come from (or even hlf for that matter), but I remember it took forever for S Diamant Y to be "confirmed" over 1000 days ingame time because while it was a decently safe guess, he had to poke a jmod for complete confirmation.

Sorry for no post last night :P Dominion Tower frustrated me and I just went to bed. But good news is yesterday (5/18) I got 50mil Woodcutting experience for my 8th skill at 50mil! Here is the pic :P After that yesterday I cleared out my birds nest from the ~23mil woodcutting experience I got and gathered these seeds and rings: Not too bad, see Ivy is profitable ;) After that I went to dominion tower to finish getting Goliath Gloves to slay with. I only needed Nomad and the 2 monkeys for the gloves. I easily did the double Nomad, but the monkeys just wouldn't come so I went to bed last night frustrated with it. When I got up this morning it took another 4 hours and like 25 other class A bosses before I finally got them (got the other 2 gloves in the process too). Finally around like 1pm today I was able to start slaying. I got around 225k Slayer experience and 600k Strength experience to start off the first day of slaying. For slayer I plan to keep a task list along with effigy and squeal extra spin drops. Here is my process today, and yes I started on my 1000th task today to kick off slayer ^_^ Some slower tasks today, and I'm working to make slayer profitable so that means banking dragon bones and other stuff. Trying to see if it would be worth while sacrificing a little speed for a bit of profit.

Meh no skilling time makes me sad. Actually was an hour late getting out of the lab today, but think I finally have everything working finally! With any luck finishing touches tomorrow and next time I'm in the lab I can afk finally :P. Super nice thing is tomorrow is my last day for a week so I'll have 10 days to nolife slayer. 200k until 50mil woodcutting, would of loved to get tonight but no chance. Will likely get it tomorrow and start maybe 1 slayer task, then after that is slayer galore :D

Another day at the lab without time to afk sadly, with any luck with plasma system will be back up tomorrow. But I'm not sure it will happen. Bright side is 2 more days and then a week off to nolife :P. About 400k until 50mil woodcutting right now, not sure I can get it tomorrow without afk time. Here is a look at my lab though :P. 2 posts above your case is a post curtsey of Gemeos that both shows the remaining hours someone needs to 200mil all and the cost left. Looking at the numbers it seems to range 21bil (Chilly) to 1bil (Jd). So would appear that atleast some people have overcome the 20-25bil cost :P and for someone to merch that over a period of 3 to 4, or even more years then that number is not nearly as massive as it first appears. Money in Runescape, if you know how to get it is pretty easy to come by :P. Now the part of "look how fast certain players are doing it/nearly done it" I have no clue what you mean. I'm not sure if you are hinting that the are rwting for there funds, botting, account sharing, or are secretly aliens with no need to sleep. I request a redirect so you can reopen your case.

Sorry for no post last night, went to bed early as today was the first day for me back in the lab for this summer. Sadly wasn't able to afk ivy much during it either due to having pump problems and having to work on them all day. With a bit of luck I hope to get the plasma system back up tomorrow, which will give me a good amount of downtime to scape. Still working on 50mil woodcutting and its annoying me since when I get home I want to slay and not cut ivy or arctic pines. Tried a bit of arctic pines when I got home, but just couldn't be asked to deal with them. So went back to ivy and relaxed watching tv. Still 600k until 50mil Woodcutting sadly too, which is about 7-8 hours, would love to finish it tomorrow but unless I get the plasma system back up there is near no chance. Looking like Wednesday will be my target. Luckily my research adviser is going to present our research at a conference next week so I'll be off Friday and most of May honestly, so more nolife time!

Thank you for the posts guys :D. I've not been using my squeel spins since the feedback from jagex where they consider people that use daily spins in favor of the wheel. Generally I hate the wheel and its my way of not being in that statistic, even though I fully realize it will have no impact :P. Also ohai Minergoo ^_^ Finally finished 50mil Firemaking experience! Was getting really burned out on firemaking, no pun intended. Tomorrow I'll likely spend the day at Runespan, even though I want to finish off woodcutting and it is only 1mil away, I figured I'd take some advantage over the bonus points there (even though I have no interest in trim comp at all and not much in 1st esteem either). After woodcutting is done I'll start on phase 2 with slayer and str/def which I've been really looking forward to. Slayer is one of my favorite skills and I've been missing it. Before I start it though I'll also need to finish off Goliath gloves at Dominion Tower. I think I have Pest Queen and the three monkies left for the gloves so hopefully it won't take too long :P. Feels really good finishing my first 50mil skill off for this thread and I look forward to woodcutting in the next few days ^_^

Thank you for the post, really loved following your blog for awhile now (and its not too much of a mess ;)) and ah yes must of been thinking of slayer when typing that :P fixed now. Another long day of firemaking. Under 3mil to go for 50mil now finally. Should finish tomorrow unless I get too distracted. Been sticking to bonfires today even with the lower experience rate as curly roots bore me after a few hours and bonfires I can watch tv and browse forums easier :P. Here is my current progress at the end of today: Would love to finish up firemaking and woodcutting this weekend, then dive into slayer and runecrafting starting monday ^_^

Personally I like the staff alot just for it looks, they did a good job on the graphics of this item and it really stands out. Aside from that is has uses of holding spells. Personally I use my for fertile soil spell, which makes herb runes a bit quicker without having to graph 3 stacks of runes or a mud staff with 2 stacks. I also have a regular staff I use for npc contact for slayer, which also works on the same concept of not having to graph 3 runes out or for me its remember which 3 runes as even after 20mil slayer experience with npc contact I can never remember the runes :P I think this weekend is a giant slap in the face for some people getting trim back. I am friends with 2 trimmers and each of them have been living at Runespan this week and coincidentally both have finals this week so as of right now they are a few hours away from trim. If Jagex had announced this "wild weekend" sooner they could of spent less time on Runespan and more studying (could, not sure they would have :P). Doing this weekend right at the time most people are right about to reget trim or have just got it is a gut punch for some of them. But I suppose on the bright side both of them were like "well atleast I'll get staves and robes without extra time added"

Now that is a hell I've been through as well >.> had to deal with two semesters of it for my chemistry major and it did some pretty good damage to my gpa too. It overwhelmingly confirmed my hatred of physics :P Anyway on point, I'm actually the opposite in many ways, I actually work in a research lab and play Runescape at the same time. I love multitasking and honestly I work better multitasking as my brain wonders if I only concentrate on one thing at a time. This ranged from always doing my math homework in my English class in highschool (which annoyed the teacher, but my high grades spoke otherwise) to cutting ivy on my android phone while in some college classes (Its possible to remote access your computer with an app for androids or iphones). So some of these updates I love. But one thing to keep in mind, none of these afkable ways are the best experience. If you are someone who cannot really multitask and finds watching your guy throw logs on a bonfire boring, then consider aiming for the efficient methods. Th best experience rate in every skill is nonafkable: Woodcutting: Artic Pines, splitting the logs on the stump in between each cut and dropping the planks Fishing: C2 floors in Dungeoneering or low alching fish caught at barbarian assualt Mining: Superheating the gold ore while mining and dropping (nice smithing experience to go along with it) etc, etc So in some ways you have a "gift" for concentrating, which is something I don't have at all with skilling, so maybe some of efficient ways are worth while for you :P Jagex, while intentionally or not, always has the best experience rates come down the meta level of gameplay, where people count there game ticks XD

Well bonfires are out and about as I expected. It is a nice afk way, but curly roots are still better experience an hour. Generally today I alternated between the two, baring on if I was in the mood to efficiently skill, or just casually skill. Doing this I actually set my personal fm experience record in a day at 3.3mil fm experience today :P. Here is my current exp: Planning to cap off 50mil fm experience by Sunday and also some hope of dungeoneering again with more of my team being less mia.

After about 3-4 hours at this I'd say Jadinkos are better, they are slightly better experience per hour with no cost. Currently bonfires about the same speed as regular firemaking (without the double line method of the pyrelord) but also has the cost of it. Its about 310k-330k firemaking experience an hour with magic logs with a cost of about 1.2mil an hour. You get a few free charms an hour too :P

Averaging right around 310k firemaking experience an hour with Magic Logs, ring, and gloves. This is mild afk/chatting so 330k seems possible. At the cost of 4.4 gp/exp with magic logs, thinking I'll head back to curly roots soonish. Not at all a bad afk way, but just not worth the cost for me with the actual slower experience rate :P

Been really anticipating this update due to my 50mil firemaking experience goal I'm working to finish this week. So far I've got a decent spot at the Grand Exchange: At this spot you don't even move to make if you click on the ge banker behind you to bank. Right now I have the magic fire lasting for about 5 minutes but I've not done a definite time test, will do that shortly. Will also soon be testing experience per hour, but seems to be atleast on par with curly roots (admittedly at quite a price rise though)
