So, apparently according to the DGS thread in Help and Advice, practically everybody advised against the binding of even primal plate as a 3rd or 4th bind. They always advise for offensive binds like blood necklace, rapier, gauntlets, ccs, and hexhunter. Am I missing something? Because unless the metagame of members is radically different from f2p, it should still carry over to f2p as well. We have even weaker monsters especially in w61. If members disregard primal plate in occult/warped, why doesn't the same apply to f2p furnished/abandoned? I'm just curious. Since so many w61ers bind plate (I assume they know what they're doing) it must put such a huge advantage to them. My stance on the plate is neutral now, but I'm still having certain doubts. Is it because there is nothing else worthwhile to bind? Still wondering if you guys do c1 1-24, 5:5 large 25-35 though.

Removed a few sections which I deemed unnecessary. I will keep working on Challenge Rooms, Resource Dungeons, and add on to any other tips and tricks that I can recall.

I think what The Ancient was talking about were the bans that caused all this to happen in the first place (he and another poster got banned for "flaming" in the Efficiency Trolls thread, when clearly they were joking with each other). Unless it's about something else...

Thank you! :) Here are some of my planned goals: 85 Mining 85 Dungeoneering Maxed attack, strength, defense, constitution, ranged, and magic 70 Prayer I want to become a good cb'er for DG Family, so I want to be prepared as much as possible. That means, no skilling for me outside of runite mining after 85. Wish me luck!

Okay, I think I know what I'm going to do next after 85 mining. I'm going to max out all combat, and get 85 dung on the way. By all combat I mean all melee combats, constitution, ranged, and magic. Prayer will only be leveled to 70, part of the reason why I'm going for 85 mining too. Why? Because I want to show that I have the dedication to dungeoneer efficiently, so I'm going to work for my stats. Wish me luck! ;) By the way, do you guys c1 dungeons at all?

I'm just wondering, what's DG Family? Is it the clan for w61 dungeoneerers? If so, I might consider switching to that once I get high combats and key better. The Dragoons for me is a bit inactive lately, at least the times when I'm on. (No I won't bind a platebody :P ) Good luck with your goals!

Probably not. 120 dungeoneering, 99 prayer, and 99 runecrafting are all very possible reasons that maxing f2p total may be in fact longer than maxing p2p total.

Well, I guess it's really up to what you value more - more options for offense, or added defense to eat less. It's really because of my chats with DGS, they say that even a primal platebody isn't good unless you key a lot, lot more than you DPS, so I assumed a fractite platebody is like having no platebody except with added weight. I'm still sticking with my ideal binds of spear-2h-longbow-firestaff and blastbox though. Ideally I want to be diverse in combat so there's more options to choose from. Can't wait for ammo bind #2 to come out! :pray:

What. As if using a platebody to protect yourself during keying is pointless enough, it has absolutely NO bearing on the boss since for most bosses, several attacks hit through armor and even prayer as if they weren't there. Only time I would even recommend a platebody would be if said person has only 40-ish defense, and even then, I tell them to go plateless and try and survive with no plate. After all, when you reach a high combat level, you're going to have to do most things no-armoring, right? I can vouch for the rest of the things Bio Ice said. We may be fun-oriented at times, but that doesn't stop us from being efficient when we want to. Without the Dragoons (as well as DGS), I probably wouldn't know as much about dung as I would now, and probably wouldn't even bother doing dung. My fastest w7 key is 28 minutes with most rooms opened (around 12 with minimal rooms). Fail deaths. Really need to raise my combats <_<

A bit of a tidbit: empowered elemental staves have +10% magic boost attached to them. Thus by binding emp fire + csb fire surge, you've effectively boosted the max of fire surge from 280 to 308, without blazer. Of course, celestial catalytic staff is still better if you craft fires (280 + 30% = 364 w/o blazer). Just pointing this out. Some people don't seem to take this into consideration when comparing the two... 56 dmg diff is still pretty significant tho.

Wow, aside from the efficiency article (remember what happened with that?), the new skills article is the only other one that I disagree with in every way. Both Summoning and Dungeoneering have more uses than Construction or Hunter, for reasons already stated in this thread. Though, I have a feeling that this thread will just have more criticism in future posts, so I'm gonna stay out and watch the action.

Stab on shadowforger > ranged. Though, camping afar and praying protect from range does help a bit. For skele horder range certainly is better. Don't know about the effectiveness of melee though. Nightgazer is faster melee tbh. Agreed on both Lexicus and Astea. Though for the latter you still want to use melee as much as possible. Agreed with Stomp especially rock clearing. Planefreezer takes far more damage melee than range or magic, and a recent update allowed slipping to happen way less. Harlakk is better maged or stabbed. For icefiend don't even run, just tank the damage. You can just eat after it finishes anyway. Any melee > ranged on cursebearer. Never larged icy bones. Ballak is better maged and melee is still better. Prot melee nullifies most damage for the tanker, until pray disable anyway. Again just like Astea, you want to melee Geomancer as often as possible. Only range when necessary, but yea. In summary: Melee for most. Ranged still has its uses though. Magic is only useful versus Rammernaut and, to some extent, the demons. EDIT: Didn't realize this was a post for ranged vs magic, d'oh. Still would be helpful for those that want to know. Melee is still the dominant king for most things.

I failed that dung L Even more was the xp. Assuming no mem doors that equates to like 15k xp. ROFLMAO.

Hey I always get piled :o but I rarely get killed either, unless it's like a rape room with high level rangers AND mages. Meleers are easy to safespot, depending on layout of room. Soloing 5:5 gd's really reminds me of that one large that took 2 hours of drudgery to complete... everyone else was a total noob, so I had to solo like half the gd's. A combat 89 soloing multiple 90+ monsters in one room? FAIL LOL.

Now you see why whoever invented w61 f2p dging is pure genius. Seriously 6.8k xp with half rooms opened. That's like 13k xp per, without 100/mem doors. FAIL LOL

I know right? It's fun figuring out what goes where and all that jazz. :P Heh, not as crazy as the goals I have put though xD ^above --- Did a 16 min furnished large (half rooms unfortunately) with fellow DGSers (Cheeesy, Tui, Koaala, and a random newb). Now I seriously wish I did something to remedy that connection of mine, or else teams are going to kick me >_< But it was still fun nevertheless. 6.8k xp. Fails so much compared to like 100k per in warped lol.
