  1. I still don't get it. How does a defensive bind (which has pretty negligible stats tbh) contribute to room clearing and bossing? They don't increase your room clearing speed in any way. I must be missing something here, because I can key in w7 (harder monsters in general) no plate and not die unless it's a dragon or a rape room or something. To me, protection prayers are your defensive "binds", as they are there no matter what. (Unless you overuse them...)
  2. Platebody does little to protect you. If you have high defense levels, the difference between plate and no plate is trivial, really. Better to bind something that helps you increase your ability to deal out damage (which is far, far more important in a dungeon than defense). Training your cb in dungeons, wut? The offensive binds are for damage output, which helps to clear gd's and bosses faster. Like I said, improving your damage output is far more important than wearing armor that does little to help defend you (and due to added weight in f2p it becomes a hindrance). Dusk eels only heal 70 anyway so you're gonna have to learn to key without armor eventually.
  3. Err, platebody? I don't know if you're being serious or not, because that is actually a detriment to dg progress, from experience. I'm perm teaming with the Dragoons who mostly spend time in w7 dging, so that's why I considered the blastbox. Is ranged really that good for dps, even with a shortbow?
  4. wat Frac gaunts are for the strength boost really. To me ranged is significantly lower in dps than melee (just look at the max hits), and even magic has some things that are more useful (forgotten warriors). 2h is way more accurate slash and crush (stronger too), and rapier is for dps (solos mostly; also stab weak monsters generally are really weak to it anyways). In p2p, this tactic is used quite often anyways. Can probably be applied to f2p as well. I'm still gonna think about it. Spear may not be as well as people really thought, but who knows...
  5. Thank you :) to add to that I am not going to be a member anytime soon because of time constraints and that I cbf spending small amounts of cash.
  6. Hmm... after some consideration with the dgs clan, I think the ideal bind switch could be changed a bit. Ideal bind setup: fractite 2h + rapier + fire staff + gauntlets (in that order), magical blastbox. Ranged is basically tossed out the window here, unless the 2nd ammo bind comes along (in that case, toss the gauntlets and input longbow of best tier). Thoughts?
  7. Once Jimi gets 120 dung we should totally start a 4bo.
  8. Why is it that people like you only achieve goals for the reward? To me, the purpose of going for a goal is because I want to go for it, not because there's a cape that I inevitably won't get anyway (f2pers don't get these capes firstly). And again, not every achievement should be easy, hence not everyone should be able to access the cape. Not willing to commit hours of skilling to 99? You're out.
  9. I like grinding because of the things that happen while during the process of grinding (meeting other skillers, messing up bots, etc). All while having a good time with friends/clan chats. And of course the rewarding stuff that comes during the process of grinding, as well as the reward after all that, hence the making of goals & achievements. For me, it's a way to chillax when there's absolutely nothing for me to do. Why people take this objectively is a mystery to me.
  10. Grimy has stated in the Autohotkey thread that the "looping" script was removed and future AHK scripts must be 1:1. So, I guess the problem with that is solved.
  11. So how exactly do you train dungeoneering? Do you just go on w61 and be one of the main combatants? Also why def over att lol.
  12. There are quite a few people on TIF that are part of that 1%, including myself. (Real life still > Runescape though.) Don't make the assumption that grinding = automatic dislike.
  13. You got that many smithing levels yet I only gained like 2 mining levels. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-
  14. Holy crap you finished fming before your signature updated?
  15. This. To add to this, bots aren't on every single world and every single spot, so if one still wishes to go to crappy xp/gp areas, they can keep hopping until they find a world.
  16. Take a print screen, paste it onto Paint or any other art program, crop it, and upload with something like Tinypic. Seems to help. And I don't know what's wrong with your dungeons, because it SHOULD give you dg tokens when you finish a dung.
  17. <3: Thanks! Takes quite a while to train up though, but I'm getting there! In other news I'm still mining and mining and mining and mining and... yeah. I managed to find an empty world to mine for a bit. Now 20k-ish xp till the next mining level. Can't be bothered though.
  18. Wisely and slow. They stumble that run fast.
  19. He's already on the list for f2pers. And I'm assuming staff are automatically added to the list, because that's what happened to me. Not that it's a bad thing or anything :P
  20. Well for me it is. I recall meeting you in the mining guild one time, and at Fist of Guthix as well. I seriously wish I could change my name though >_< Also got the 1k gems per 4 hours from Sees, when he was buying out said items.
  21. I wonder how long it took him to get all those gems to craft... The limit on gems is like what? 1k every 4 hours? Also, hai Pakalolo Mon :D I've met you before lol.
  22. Did you really just judge my entire post based on that one sentence? I said botting is "morally wrong" because it goes against the rules of what Jagex set in stone (which they didn't really look to that much, their fault really). NOT because it is immoral in real life! As I said in that post, botting does not affect me, because it doesn't MAKE me break the rules nor does it bother me in the slightest. For most people, this would probably apply.
  23. Not gonna lie, to me botting does NOT affect my gameplay styles in any way. I simply view them as resource leechers, they don't really do anything to affect my own skilling gains (aside from mining, but I out-mine most people anyway). Of course, botting is morally wrong. But does that mean people won't do it? No! In fact, this will just have players find more ways to bot. With Jagex and not banning the bots until the last minute, this just inclines more people to bot. Botting is definitely a problem in Runescape, but it does not affect me much.
