  1. This is practically what I'm doing, except I'm using the Tavern and my imagination. Oh, had Physics today. Expect to soon see pictures of: Earth's standoff with the fire and lightning mages Peter pwning that air mage The robot I intend for Mars to use in Space Mk II A zombie fish And possibly much, much more as I clean through my drawing piles and scan stuff in!
  2. IT HAS A TASTE FOR BLOOD
  3. Fix'd
  4. Well, the Falador Tavern moderators seem to be doing their job pretty well. And I tend to stay away from posting in most of the rest of the forum, so... good job, I guess?

I'm probably just going to do character design art for the AI-interaction droid used by Mars. Maybe some generic weapon design, I dunno.
  6. Bagel Pizza.

I'm a tactical AI, so I'm still going with Nero. :P

This was because there was no feasible use for the shields for the rest of the crew. Oh, and the fact that you were installing shields in your personal quarters for personal use after a bunch of random shenanigans that people were still going "WTF?!?" about was a little bit more than suspicious. I was installing them all over the ship, they were intended to be used as containement fields in the event of a boarding (yes, they would sure have been usefull hadn't I been interupted). And my "shenanigans" were putting away my gun and looking for the source of the AI malfunction. The shenanigans ended up being Nex, admittedly - but everyone was still confused about who did it, and the way you phrased your setting up of the shields made it appear they were for personal protective use, instead of containment in case of boarding.

I'll go with Nero, since we don't want to have competing crewmember AIs.
  12. Just make sure that there aren't any duplicate raws anywhere, and that you close all your tags. I once had a duplicate raw set that would give me bluemetal instead of microcline. That was hilarious.

  14. Add some tags, delete some tags.... I should mod in some weapons and stuff, just for kicks. It's all in the raw files. I added [TRAINABLE], [PET], and [AMPHIBIOUS] to the badger raws, and removed [PET_EXOTIC] to make it so I can tame the legions that seem to continuously walk in through my front door. I've also added [sPEED:0] and [AMPHIBIOUS] to dwarves to make my life easier.
  15. 75% of the time, your dwarves will be eating, drinking, sleeping, or partying instead of what you want them to do. This is why you should have at least 5 dwarves capable of doing most basic tasks, like farming and brewing. Also, there are few things more beautiful than watching a badger army swarm on top of an elf and gut it alive.
  16. Alright. I'll make them amphibious while I'm at it, because... well, why not? I now have 1 military dwarf being followed by no less than 32 war badgers and their babies. HELL YES. The 3x3 barracks is like a badger-ball pit. Badgers frickin' everywhere, and the one poor legendary speardwarf who commands them buried beneath a mass of fur and meat.
  17. YOU SIR ARE DWARF
  18. Mather: Build furniture: Build walls, ramps, floors, etc.: -> [C] Build workshops: -> [w] Build furnaces/smelters/kilns: -> [e] (I think...)
  19. Tuesday, I'd presume. Since that's the only day that I have enough time for a session and other game aren't running.
  20. I have a dwarf militant who is being constantly followed by no less that 20 war-trained badgers of varying genders at all times in case of goblin ambush. I love dwarf fortress.
  21. Alright. I'll make them amphibious while I'm at it, because... well, why not?
  22. Accomodate? Right now, I have a bunch of beds next to the massive workshop/storage area. I don't even have tables set up yet, and there's only one dwarf getting angry about anything and it's because there was a stupid rat wandering around my fort somewhere. On a different note, some badgers just tried to enter my fort and made it to the cage traps. What should I do with them? Edit: Okay, make that an asston of badgers. An entire freaking clan of badgers just barged into my front door and got caged. WHAT DO.
  23. And what about forgotten beasts that don't eat? Not to mention all the goblinite you're wasting... Oh, and the fort I'm playing right now has 36 dwarves at 8 FPS. Maybe it was giving dwarves [sPEED: 0] that did it. I have a network of pressure plates and unskilled immigrant/nobility quarters to deal with things that don't eat. If that fails I have redundancies and unless the forgotten beasts can go through walls I should be fine (By redundancies I mean bridges in the upper levels and ballistae corridors in the lower ones [and yes I am using a couple of Z levels of space to make this defensive measure). EDIT: Oh and this all wraps around a temple (read aztec style step pyramid) to ARMOK GOD OF BLOOD in which the goblins and other nasties captured by the cage traps (I have quarters to supply those who resupply the traps) are sacrificed to appease the wrath of ARMOK GOD OF BLOOD. Yeah, right now I'm just making a minimalistic "let's survive" fort before I decide what madness I want to indulge in. Besides, of course, my current defense system and caged-goblin-disposal pit. The pit is 1zlevel deep at the first drop - this is before I "dispose" of the goblins and various other annoying creatures. Then, I pull a lever, the hatch under them opens, and they fall 11 zlevels to an explosive death. And this is if they survive my heavy-repeating luck-based entrance system - it's a bunch of hatches and floors over a magma pit. Accidentally step on a hatch instead of floor, and whoop, there you go into the magma. Oh, and right now I have orders of magnitude more booze than I do dwarves. I do not know how I have managed this.

First of all, these are aliens. Not entirely sure if Geneva rules apply to them. Second, I'm pretty sure the Terran Federation may have said "screw you" to the Geneva Convention and then just did whatever the hell they wanted. And I don't care if AIs are hated, playing as one will be fun. Hell, it'll probably be even more fun if everyone hates them.
