  1. I've seen that offer on RS-forums and unless the poster isn't telling the truth, he got several for 25m each. I won't outbid you so my offer is 25m too, pm is open...
  2. Cool idea. Takes away some of its 'discontinued' status. + remove it from the toy box like suggested
  3. The free stuff they get for attending the event is not the point. The real world cash = in game item is the point. The total 180 in philosophy with out any reason, or any statement, or anything is the reason people are upset. Real life items are fine, great, give people mountains of stuff. But they didnt have to put an item in game. Let other games that have not made a philosophical commitment to there players put in game items for real world cash, other games are not my concern and what they have done has no bearing on this at all. There is a difference between real world stuff and Runescape stuff. This is basically breaking the fourth wall between real life and Runescape life. And do you really expect a jmod to come out against this, publicly on RSOF at least? They work to produce a wall of solidarity that is almost ludicrous sometimes. I didn't. On Runescape official forums they are flooded with complaints and have only a handful supporters on their side. The 'rewards' he speaks off include the item we are discussing, the whole thread on RS-forums is about this item btw... The point why I posted my previous comment was to show where this comes from. Shamelessly copying the event of another MMO. If we complain: "we are allowed to, it is our game and the others do the same"
  4. Interesting post from MMH on RS official forums: "I am a gamer. I have been gaming a LONG time. I play one of the big MMOs out there. People get rewards for attending conventions and events that I couldn't dream of attending. Do I get mad? Do I moan at the company because I can't go? No. ~ MMH ~"
  5. Did you really say that... You're an insensitive jerk if that is truely your opinion. In my job I have to deal with people who can't pay their bills every day, and guess what, most of them have jobs! You're suffering from a severe form of tunnel vision, I have a good life and I earn enough to afford it, stuff the rest. Good argument... <_< The price itself isn't even the big deal here, handing out ingame items for real life cash (even if it was only 1$/item) I think is what upsets us most.
  6. Scythes and bunny ears are purely cosmetic too, people who own them wouldn't call them useless... The event would cost me 80 ferry, 100 hotel, 90 ticket for a one-day event. Membership costs me 4,6 per month. Cool items for the rich and wealthy, I don't like it. Oh well, it's their game... I hope that the people here, who are going, have a great time!
  7. Thus giving an unfair advantage to people who can't attend the event. I sincerely hope this is not the case. If you are correct, I'm out.
  8. Uh, read what I said again. Take your time. (Hint: You're "agreeing" with something I never said or implied.) Oh, and thanks for the nickel. I get one every time somebody misuses the word "troll" and I nearly have enough to get that new Ferrari I've always wanted. You thought the posts in reply were offtopic and not needed, I agreed. In the same way as the post they were replied to was not needed. (my personal opinion) What is constructive about hammering on the same nail over and over and over and ... again. And if you think I helped you get closer to your very own Ferrari, I'm glad to help. :^_^: See above post to prove my point. ;)
  9. Good point, I have been wondering about the same thing, why is there a prestige bonus? And I fully agree with you Qeltar, feeding a troll ain't the best thing to do.
  10. Good luck!
  11. Most people I know in RS would love elite diaries, so do I. :^_^:
  12. You are, Rapier will rip Corporeal into pieces. 1,5x as fast as a Zamorakian Spear, +9 stab bonus, +26 str bonus. and does half dmg on corp since it isnt a spear Corporeal is weak to spears? :???: Waterfiends are weak to crush if people are wondering... :^_^:
  13. You are, Rapier will rip Corporeal into pieces. 1,5x as fast as a Zamorakian Spear, +9 stab bonus, +26 str bonus.
  14. True, if you only consider strength, Rapier wins. If you consider attack bonus, longsword wins. 2m for 10 hours use, I won't mind for these bonuses.
  15. What would be the best weapon to buy? If you take into account the different attack speed of the weapons and the fact that the maul will probably be 2handed, strengthwise they are all +- the same. (with the difference that you get alot more defence from your shield slot with rapier/longsword)
  16. I think it's time for you and the others to cut the [cabbage] with the personal attacks and stick to the topic. She has as much right to her opinion as you do to yours. Constant negativity ain't fun either. We all play this game to relax and most of us read these threads to be informed about new content, not to read the same discussion over and over again . Almost every update-thread ends in a discussion with a particular person defending the 'the update sucks'-cause in 99.9% of the cases. To the extent it gets repetitive... <_< (although I agree this has more in common with a minigame :-P)
  17. Correct, and good thinking too, it didn't cross my mind. If the xp rates were higher, I would be there all night rc'ing. :^_^:
  18. More important question if you ask me: Will this be considered as bug abuse? How much xp/hour in runecrafting are we talking about here? afaik 1/10th of the original exp. works with any runes, but bloods give more exp as usual :D My rough calculations say I'm sticking with ZMI...

  20. I just said it's possible. But not within next twenty years, that i agree with you. Why would it be impossible in the near future? A third party could cough up the funds for Jagex (however they are pretty loaded themselves considering the profit margin they took in the last years) in return for a part of the profit. Jagex provides the ideas and holds the licenses, the other party provides the cash. This has been done in other fields numerous times, for example an author of a book that sells his rights to a producer to make a movie. In my personal opinion I think that Jagex takes little advantage from the fantasy world they created. The online shop is a joke compared to the merchandising other (even less popular) games have.
  21. its DISCONTINUED, which means their numbers are not increasing. Its reasonable to pay a lot for them because they simply cannot be produced whatsoever. In my opinion, they are still way underpriced and have a long way to go before they're due for a crash. I think that there is a flaw in your reasoning there. The inccrease in price is too steap and not at all natural at the moment, the demand is inflated by hundreds of greedy merchers. Yellow partyhat was 100m and buyable at lowest not so long ago. (that is how I got mine, which I still got) The item was discontinued then, and stil is now.
  22. I'm looking to buy a white partyhat and someone is selling on rsof for cash. (junk is brine sabres) His final offer was 1.848M, quite insane if you ask me, even for a partyhat...
  23. Went there with the 2 helmets, nothing.
  24. True, cool place for beginning players. A 300 QP reward with no stats and no bonus... Maybe it holds some hidden use.
  25. Fail logic. This isn't a "well done you've mastered the skill have two rocks" D&D. Why would it be? It's supposed to be a nice little bonus for people who skill and encourages people to vary their training patterns. The D&D's are not meant to be "go out and do it all at once", that's why some of them have time limits. However with Penguins player ingenuity has got the better of Jagex once again and created a lovely community and support network from it. Plus it's just easier to hunt them all at once. The problem I see with Shattered Heart is in some cases (RC, Agility), the actions which cause you to gain a stone do not occur often enough. For example jumping over the low wall at the agility Pyramid happens 4 times a circuit? Or something like that. In any case there are your 4 chances to get a rock (it could be more but you generally fail if you try to go backwards on any of the obstacles,). If you happen to training agility normally then it's extremely unlikely you will get a stone unless you stay there for hours. On a normal runecrafting run I "bind essence" twice. Once with my invent ess and the other from pouches. Two clicks that have a chance to give me a stone.. Repeat ad nauseum... You have the option whether or not to play the other D&D's, it won't give you any advantage in the rest of the game, other than xp. You can train mining without ever touching one fallen star, train wc'ing without evil trees, ... This D&D gives kudos, hence a 99.9% chance you'll need it in future achievements/quests.
