Grace, War, and Shenanigans
Can I make a familliar that is a different shape than the final shape of the weapon? Like I know you said it plays a part, but say I chose a cone (like dragon breath, not like ice cream cone), could I have a familliar that was like a fat, humanoid snowman, since it bears relation to the cone-ness? And is it possible to channel cold instead of elemental energy? So like it would be a touch attack that causes freezing in a splotch near the area touched?

Wait what? I thought the shape was the spell to heal the familliar, since I don't have to keep the chip in to keep the familliar out? So I wanted to summon a familliar, then remove that chip and start healing and buffing it with cone-shaped bursts. I thought buffing and healing was passive. So is there any way to make that work? Or do the chips affect how the familliar looks like? Or does the chip need to be on for the familliar to be outside? And regardless of the chips inside the thingy, can it just channel pure elemental energy?

Jen Slot 1: Ice Slot 2: Ice (Not sure if this works, but I want it to be able to add a freezing effect, which is more effective against non-ice and heals ice types, specifically those with affinity to ice and my familliar) Slot 3: Summoning Ice Familliar (Summon something more powerful than normal, but of only one form/element) Slot 4: Passive Slot 5: Cone-shaped burst (relatively short ranged, but wide) Can the thingy also just output pure ice energy, on touch? I'm trying to make this very specialized.

Given what people are asking for, this would probably be a good idea XD And Retech, the only leveling system will be Affinity, and the maximum for those is 5. How does one gain affinity? Is it just posted by you when we perform an action? Also, is this a team game? ---- Also, do you have to have a chip in every slot at all times? If one is lacking, may we have a generic hold its place? We get five chips to start, right?

What kind of system? Dungeoneering leveling, DnD leveling, your own leveling, lack of leveling?

The Cursed Planet
Are we the cult or are they a recurring villian team that also has magical powers similar to ours?
-
The Cursed Planet
Is this a team game like DnD or more individual like Dungeoneering?
-
The Cursed Planet
Actually, I will go with time-tested. Jen, with power over ice!
-
The Cursed Planet
Jen, with power over nature. This might be stuff like calling vines from the ground or speaking to an animal, for example.

The Back Room
Yeah, this sounds like a good game. I wish Space would come back though. :P

Hegemony
Thank you, and I'm sorry I might have gone a bit overboard with the anger thing. I'm stubborn and defensively like that, and being sick does not help matters. :)

Hegemony
I have already said what I have had to say about the situation, so instead of trying to hound me and judge me for a situation that you clearly don't understand, you can just go back to play the game. I can accept when I've been defeated, but that was not why I quit, because I was not even close to a state where I was defeated. Edit: They don't censor the word jackass anymore.

The Back Room
How would you be running it? Is this some sort of Dungeoneering style thing or more DnD?
-
Hegemony
Yes, you do. It's just that you never get their IAD.

From the stuff that Arch told me before, they will usually agree to join you after a few resets of things working out. There is no reason to have a puppet state join you unless you are planning to take a huge hit to prestige, because their GDP is worth so much more as investment.

That's not the point. A good war is always fun and dandy, and there is no guarentee that you would've won. The place I was nerfed was when I purchased planes for real life prices (100 million each), and then I find out that in the game, they are only 1/100th the cost. Naturally I ask for a refund, which is denied. Then I proceed to order the planes that I would've gotten (20 billion dollars worth of planes) and my economy crashes. Then my Argentina plan is mis-interpreted to include bombing into Argentina, which was not the case. Also, that is why I just left instead of going on my standard smash spree and hitting European nuclear reactors to gimp Europe. IT IS NOT BECAUSE MY PLANS FAILED. It is more that the rules weren't really hard rules and that I couldn't rely on anything but Archi's conception of the world, which again, is different from mine. Also, I was not afraid of anything except events, because frankly, I would have had all of South America on my side. Now before you mention that your GDP was larger than South America's, just a reminder that military is a percentage of the owning nation's GDP. If I had not been gimped (again, subject to opinion), I would have had an estimated budget of 800 billion and a huge military, because I could just load up the soldiers in my puppets and not have to pay any upkeep. I never quit because my plans have been ruined. I quit when I have been defeated (like game over defeated). When my plans get ruined, I take REVENGE. It's part of my philosophy of dragging down my enemies when I am going to be defeated regardless, much like the Balrog dragged down Gandalf into the pit. Though in my case, that would be general country wrecking and genocide.

Hegemony
Well, supposedly I'd have advisors that live in the Hegemony world that could inform me of the differences. :P
-
Hegemony
Yeah, maybe that's why I have such a problem with Hegemony. The rules aren't nearly as solid as they are in other games, so I can't use rules to plan anything, which is basically how I operate.
-
Hegemony
Well the puppet rules were there for a reason. Theoretically if we were following the rules precisely, only Chile would be allowed to become diametrically opposed because by that point, I had puppetted all of the other country.

That's not it, my reason isn't even related to the failure of my plan. Had there been a different reason for the screw-up, I would've gladly continued and tried to make the current situation work. There are ways to make contingencies against forseeable failures and even unanticipated catastrophes, but not against, imho, getting unreasonably gimped. It's happened a few times already, so I think I'm done by now. The thing about Hegemony compared to other games is that it is really the mod's vision for how the world works that counts. My conception of the world is just too different from Archi's conception of the world, so there's no way that I can do anything that doesn't get screwed over.

The Back Room
Editted for format. :)

The Back Room
I made some edits for grammar and removing some randomness. It is still relatively true to Earth's original, since I followed the same format.

The Back Room
I think that a better term than medic, in Jen's case, would be "Chemical Weapons Officer."

Hegemony
Well it is not the fact that my plans failed, it is more the manner in which they failed. It is difficult for me to overcome this because there's nothing I can do about it, except play in a way that isn't very fun for me.

Hegemony
Nah Wisp, it is not the failure of my plans that caused me to leave. However, I'll be reading the thread and enjoying the story.
