RuneScape Information

  1. I just had an idea. What if this update is also paving the way for the smithing update? What better way to revive smithing than to give them a way to take advantage of the constitution change by making new armors (or perhaps attachments) that give constitution bonuses? Here's one possibility (probably wrong, though): High level smiths will be able to make 'Heartstone Attachments' which can be attached to certain regular armors. To show that the equipment has a heartstone attachment, the name would become like this: 'Equipment (heartstone)', for example a Rune Plate with a bronze heartstone would become Rune Platearmour (bh). What heartstones would do is increase your constitution by one level for each rank of metal and can only be attached to their rank of metal armor or higher. Each bronze Heartstone would increase your constitution by 1, each Iron heartstone would increase your constitution by 2, but could only be attached to iron or higher armor, and so on. So if a person in full rune were to have every piece with a rune heartstone attached, the total constitution bonus would be 24.
  2. I'm going to guess the reward is a statue you can put in one of your POH gardens.
  3. When they say third party, they mean mean anything not made by them. So yes, if you made it, it would be third party.
  4. Other than virtually every boss monster out there where they get heavy suage He said combat summons and nobody uses those at bosses unless they have no idea what they're doing. But I still disagree they aren't nearly useless, they speed up slayer tasks and killing things like aviansies. I hope they allow them in single combat anyway though. Okay, maybe I misspoke. I should have said that combat familiars only have a fairly narrow usage. The big thing is that Summoning affects your combat level, but there are a very large number of areas where you can't use Summoning for combat.
  5. My biggest hope (and I am sure is the same as many others) is that they are making combat summons usable in single combat zones. As it is, combat summons are nearly useless.
  6. I have come with a few boss mechanics that could potentially make a boss impossible to solo, regardless of equipment or levels. Mechanic 1: A special attack that does damage to players based on the number of players in a group. For example, let's take a giant crab boss. One of his attacks is to shoot out 20 bubbles. They do 10 damage each, rarely or never miss, and can not be prayed against. However, these bubbles are divided roughly evenly amongst all players in the group. So if you had a 10 player group, each individual would take 20 damage, each person in a 5 player would take 40, and if you were by yourself, you would take 200 damage (thus an instant kill). Mechanic 2: Have part of the boss fight have damage based on number of hits rather than raw power. Taking the previous example of the giant crab boss, let's say at the boss starts out in "shell mode" and every now and then during the fight, it will re-enter "shell mode". Shell mode has 100 health, and while the boss is in shell mode you will almost always hit, but you never do more than 1 damage. Also, while in shell mode the boss is constantly restoring health fairly rapidly. So unless the boss is taking a high number of hits (like you would find in a group), the boss will take a long time (if ever) to leave shell mode so that you can start doing 'real' damage to the boss. In fact, though you may eventually take the boss out of shell mode when you are solo, because you take so long to do so, you may just be taking it out of shell mode just to have it re-enter. Mechanic 3: Require 'terrain interaction', divided between players in the group. Couldn't think of a better way to summarize the idea in one sentence. Anyways, going once again back to the example of the crab boss, let's say that the fight takes place in a cave, and rocks are constantly falling. Every 20 seconds the game will randomly choose one of the members of the group to try and drop a rock on. If the person does not move far enough away, he or she will take 15 damage. So, if you are by yourself, you will have to be almost constantly moving if you want to avoid damage (thus greatly reducing the damage you deal), but if you are in a group with several mamabers, you might only have to move every couple of minutes.
  7. "I cant tell you." Anyone else notice his word choice for the anagram? Acolyte is a white knight rank. Presumably above proselyte. You can see them in the White Knight Castle. Examine for the white knight with a green plume reads "A White Knight acolyte." Upgraded prayer armor anyone? Well, I tried entering that on an anagram solver website, and here are some of the more interesting ones it came up with: i loan cult yet i lay cult tone i let to lunacy i lo natty clue i lunacy let to i lent clay out Somehow, the word 'cult' being a potential part of the anagram jumps out at me.
  8. Haha I look forward to it..... it's still a semi-logical theory :P It's quite simple really, they released the letter after the quest came out, and in the front page introduction, they say this: Note the word "future", and the plurality of the word releases.
  9. So you are looking for a shield with a high Ranged defense? That is easy, go with the Obsidian shield. It has +62 (I think) Ranged Defense, as well as a +5 Strength bonus.
  10. Another thing you could do is farming Toadflax. The best part is that doing farming is almost completely extra as you only have to spend a few minutes planting and picking and it grows while you are doing other stuff. I am not sure what your farming level is, but it only takes 38 farming for toadflax, and that does not take overlong to get. Anyways, toadflax seeds cost something like 1-2k on the GE, and if you use supercompost and the herb doesn't die, you are guaranteed to get at least 5 toadflax herbs worth 4-5k+.
  11. Unfortunatly thats really easy within your restrictions. All he has to do is: 1. Buy lots of obby weapons on the GE. 2. Sell in TzHaar with Karamaja Gloves 3 equipped (Repeat until enough Tokkul is obtained) 3. Buy Onyx with K Gloves 3 on and Tokkul. Other restrictions that need to be added are at no point may you sell Obby Items in TzHaar for Tokkul that you have not obtained yourself, and at no point may you sell any Items in TzHaar for Tokkul that you have not obtained yourself. And the Onyx is 2.4M Gp but only 300k Tokkul (260k Tokkul with Discount). Well, I thought it wasn't really necessary as I thought Jagex removed the ability to sell items to the Tzaar shops. If there are still shops you can sell to, then of course that would be a restriction (as well as not using the gloves). How about this one: Get a full set of Infinity Robes, a Master Staff, and a Mage's book, all using Pizazz points, all in one trip. EDIT: Also, I just went to the TzHarr shop to double check the price, and I was a bit off. The Uncut Onyx is 2.7m Tokkul.
  12. I recently registered on to these fine forums, and I figured that since I have finally gotten around to it, I would ask something I have been wondering about for some time. Anyways, as of this posting, these are the prices for the various metal/slayer boots: Bronze Boots: 979 Iron Boots: 13.7k Steel Boots: 211 Black Boots: 236 Mithril Boots: 912 Adamant Boots: 2,052 Rune Boots: 94.6k Dragon Boots: 435.2k My question is why are the Iron (and to a lesser extent, the bronze) Boots so costly (comparatively speaking)? I am not complaining, as I greatly enjoy killing Cockatrices, so it gets me a fair bit of extra coin. I am mostly just curious as it makes no sense. They are the second weakest of the boots, and Cockatrices are slayed quite a bit, both as slayer tasks, and for their high frequency of Limpwurt Root drops, so it's not like they are that rare. I am also fairly sure price manipulators can be ruled out, as they have mostly been stable or rising for quite some time.
  13. Here's a good one, one I am intending to do eventually. Buy an Onyx from the Tzarr shop and create a Berzerker Necklace. Why?: The Onyx costs a whopping 2.4 million (I might be a bit off on the number) Tokkul, and Tokkul is an untradable item. Creating a Berzerker necklace also takes high level magic and crafting. What's not allowed: 1. Buying the Onyx off of another player/the G.E. 2. Using assistance to craft or enchant the necklace. 3. Using an Enchant Onyx tablet (unless you made the tab yourself).
