  1. That's the right attitude. When WG formed as a clan with the focus of PKing PKers, we were laughed at by everyone. Six years on we're still going strong and have made our mark. You have the chance to do the same, and you seem like you have the dedication and effort needed to make it happen. Don't let trolls and haters put you off. Just keep trying, believe in yourself and never give up. And one day, you could be up there with DI or DS or VR with a name and a legacy to be remembered.
  2. Raids have always been more important for some silly reason. :P Good point. I guess you could call us a raiding clan more than a warring clan really. We do get a lot of run-ins and I'd even say raids are more fun than wars.

What Is The Best Clan Name You've Seen? I do really like Collision. It's short, but powerful. Worst Name? Dragon Hunters. I started a clan with that name in 2005. Since then I've seen another three or four clans with the same name. Horribly overused. Funniest? I'll always remember FOOLS. And French Riders had it's humourous meanings. Most Intimidating To Do Battle With? In terms of name, Reign of Terror.
  4. Welcome back :) I wish you all the best :D
  5. PvP and BH, and clan vs clan at cwa. I'd say host your bot hunting before the event, you're likely to get the best turnouts then.
  6. Saw me :shades: Awesome stuff dude, waiting eagerly for part 2
  7. A well-chosen name. It's hard to find a good original name for a clan these days. 41 members... you have a good chance. All the best
  8. Tinychat is video, not just audio. Nice try though. WG - TS3. We were on TS2, and around the time TS3 came out we switched to Mumble. Huge backlash from the members about it, everyone wanted TS3. By the time we switched to TS3, everyone wanted to stay with Mumble  TS3 is great quality. The one thing I miss about Mumble though is the overlay. I could see who's talking while playing RS without having to switch windows.
  9. DF. Solely because EoS crashed an interclan war I hosted a while back. I had massive respect for them until that. Now it's sort of meh. RoT or VR
  10. I've led clans before so I have some experience. An anti-botting clan is an unheard of concept. Clans will have rules on it, but none have it as a primary focus. You have originality as your advantage - use it. It'll be a great help with advertising. Because you're not PvP, you could possibly impliment multi-clanning availabilities - worth considering. But let the members prioritize their clan first. Leave them with choice. Call yourselves honourable, that's a rare trait in clans. But remember, many clanners like the PvP aspect as well, so advertise that you do CWA as well. Try not to limit yourself with anything, and if you do, don't show it. Be honest, but be selective with your words. Material-wise you want these things: - Forums. Make them well-kept, with proper spelling and organisation. Cater for your community. A good clan has a good atmosphere. Use InvisionFree or IPB if you want it free. - Website. If you have any members who can CODE or design in Flash (NO Dreamweaver or Frontpage), let them work some magic. Get a free site or set up a server, and get a domain name. They're fairly cheap. Having an address like freewebs.com/clanname is off-putting. - IRC. IRC is crucial real-time communication outside the game. Set up a channel, and use SwiftIRC. Encourage your members to lounge in it regularly. - VoIP. A VoIP program does cost, but it's crucial as well. Encourage your members to get microphones or headsets. It will be a huge help for events. - CC. I reccomend using your own. Ask your members to join it and idle there whenever they're online. It will help with in-game recruitment. - Media. You want quality over quantity. Get yourself a good banner (And make it orginial). Consider a promotional video. Make clan signatures and avatars for fansites. - Slogan. Think of something original and creative. WG's is "We are the Shield of the Innocent". Make it reflect your clan and its' interests. In terms of recruitment, your best bet is fansites like Tip.It and RSC. Make a well-designed template for your recruitment topic. Host events for recruitment like photo shoots and of the clan in action. Keep a diverse range of events, appeal to everyone you can. Check out "Looking for a clan" forums and refer members to your clan. Recruiting in-game is also a good success point. If you're anti-bot, focus on areas with skillers who will be challenged by bots. RS Classic also had a big bot issue a while back, you may find success there as well. Use the RS forums as well (RSB) for recruitment. The non-clan community is very different to RSB. For events, turnout is your priority. If you have a forums, send out mass PMs, and hype things up. Maybe change your banner. Ensure all your members know the dates, times and locations. Ask them to clear their schedules, and use the RS pm system and IRC to ensure they're aware of all the details. Preparation videos are an extension, you could save these for the biggest events. When you're hosting, be open-minded. If you're unexperienced with leadership, consider asking another member with more experience to help. If you make a mistake, learn from it. Overall, keep things simple and professional. Complexity is off-putting. Unprofessionalism is off-putting. Be firm, but respectful and friendly in your leadership. Show you're a good friend, leader and person, but also show you won't take sh*t from anyone. You will encounter hardships and the idiot now and then - you need a lot of strength and dedication to get through them. I know, I have been there. It is possible, and well worth it in the end. Any other questions or things you want to know, ask me. I wish your clan the best of luck
  11. WG is diverse in events, so we don't like to cramp up wars, we hype. This month we've had about 5 so I voted weekly, it seems about right. Although this past week we've had 2-3 I think. It varies.
  12. JOUKE?! Were you at RuneFest dude? Why didn't you meet up with WG?
  13. Three years ago, there was only PvP. What I really like about clans is how we brought our own style of playing into the game. Wars, PKRIs, clans and so are all player-created. CWA is a Jagex creation. In my opinion, it's TOO fixed. If you want a perfect war in a set arena where everything goes according to plan, it works. PvP adds an element of unpredictability. For one, you get loot, and you risk in turn. It's more old-school, no FoG or Corrupt (Usually). Getting crashed is a pain, but it adds an element of interest to the fight when looking back afterwards. CWA is like a Kia Ceed. PvP is like a Porsche 944. Depends on if you can handle a wildcard.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11BtUHQ0ssQ With audio 8-)
  15. Brilliant. Great fight DB, was epic :D Video on the way.
  16. That's Runescape. Just report them, and find a different spot I guess. If only P-mods had temporary suspending abilities... although maybe that's giving them a bit too much power.
  17. Aha, so there is a clan videos forum :D many thanks dude
  18. I beg to differ :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNaIOrUv8Yo&fmt=22 My latest compilation, featuring most of our Aussie raids from the past 2 months. Took 9 hours of editing to compile the 27 GBs of raw HD footage (over 2 hours long altogether) into one 3 minute 30 second video. And it's not too bad, if I do say so myself  And that's not all... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yTFUVKaoDE&fmt=22 Older one but probably more epic. Wilderness Guardians and The Sabres (The two big names in Anti-Random Player Killing) combine forces and go raiding as WS :D
  19. *looks around* BUMP!!! Sorry it took like a month :P but yes, I finished parts 2 and 3, they're in the main post :P
  20. Hunter22 Bob Returns Trogodor Jr Sjp Jeph Denat Milap
  21. Working on them. You mean the Sparta one? Defo
  22. Is this like the oldest active thread? :P If the skirts are lighter, then why are they cheaper? Running less is more expensive? Logic? Also this is not true for dragon armour. D legs and D skirt are equal in stats AND weight. Just legs are incredibly expensive for some reason. Dunno why, they make my thighs look fat
  23. Yufei!!!!!!! hay dude, hows it been since Mora?
  24. Well in Lumbridge there's an altar literally right there anyway :P
