  1. Sweet, Edel. Very Parallel Dementia-esque
  2. Goblins is the best webcomic. EVER. Look it up, don't be deterred by the early pages. You navigate by clicking the arrow heads at the bottom of the screen. One is one page, two is beginning/end of comic.
  3. Erm, land army? Ok, Maybe we should just get Tech to look up the old PMs and do a mock battle report. It's been bugging me for a while, who would have won.
  4. Big heavy armour and mailed warhorses are relatively useless considering I slaughtered all of your troops before they even came off their boats  And my Knights of Santiago could've beat them, easily. Really could've beat any of your units, since I got the full bonus since their bonus was against soldiers of different faith (2x effecitve against heretics, 3x as effective against heathens). So, yea, that armour would do nothing. Hell, I could probably just kill them with Jinettes, since they'd never even be able to catch them  *Ahem* One, I had 10,000 WITH significant Hlaupari reinforcements. Two, They weren't on the boats. ;)
  5. Every time a new problem comes up, I simply come up with a weapon to fight it. :P Hlaupari were originally meant to be pirate-type units, But when the Mongols came along I decided to kill two birds with one stone. Chain weapons? Entangle horses, slaughter spearmen, scale walls/ship hulls. Hand crossbows? A match for Mongol horse archers and good for firing between ships. Firebombs? Turn Hlaupari into copies of Mongolian Naffatun and send ships up in flame. And then of course, there were the true elites which never saw combat in Ye Olde Hegemony. Skriddeki, the most heavily armoured units in the game, with the stongest warhorses. Essentially immune to spearmen, a nightmare for swordsmen, and worth a number of even those soldiers they were weak against. These were my answer to Western European combat, and if the game hadn't ended they would likely have slaughtered Dusty's troops. So, yeah. If your opponent has a bigger gun, shoot him with something new.
  6. That sounds very much like paraphrased Nihilism. Is that what you were thinking of?
  7. Well... good luck, ICU, but sometimes this stuff just happens. I wasn't happy when Retech made my Hlaupari go against their training and charge into deep mud so that they got slaughtered, but my agitation changed nothing. If the game is no longer fun, well, maybe that's a sign that we'll be needing a new game soon. Maybe try sticking with it a bit longer, America's going through turmoil and you'll have more chances to strike.
  8. "GRAB THE URN AND RUN!" ________ And Edel, seriously, you're just making enemies here. At least five people have stated their annoyance. You've made your point multiple times, now leave it.
  9. And Iey will probs go Pyro as well. xD
  10. World at War is actually quite fun, and Nazi Zombie mode is just plain awesome. *Etienne and I are standing on the teleporter in a factory holding brownings, not knowing it requires someone to activate the other end to work* "Teleport! TELEPORT!" *falls under a sea of hellhounds* "GOD HELP ME, TELEPORT! ________ *Etienne and Bernard are standing in the middle of a horde of zombies, all ammo gone but one grenade each* *Both grab grenades and remove pins simultaneously* Bernard: "One! Two! Three!" *lobs grenade* Etienne: "Three! Two! One! Uh, FOUR!" *lobs grenade* *Bernard's grenade hits a zombie in the head, causing the zombie to flinch, and then ricochets off a wall and lands at Bernard's feet* *Etienne's grenade flies about a foot from his head before exploding simultaneously with Bernard's* ________ There were lots of other incidents, but it's not really funny unless you were there.
  11. It's split about halfway Edel, evidently you haven't been paying much attention to the actual arguments.
  12. Can't, tried/don't really like it, and already have it in that order. You're probably right, I have Sim City 2000 which is awesome if a bit old, Gmod I hate, God of War is damned inappropriate, Diablo 3 does look awesome, Red Dead is probably a no go with my parents, and I WANT Bioshock. Any Bioshock, to be honest. Why are there American flags if it's in Russia, and I don't think those are Big Daddies. I believe the Bioshock 1 & 2 Big Daddies were alive as well, as for the new golem things extra points for guessing the weak spot.
  13. Either way, no, no we haven't. While I support that idea, not everyone does. Unfortunately in this case no individual can speak for their fellow Tavernians.
  14. I have a completely unrelated question. What should I spend my money on? Recently I've been getting bored, with nothing particularly interesting to read (sequels, new books in a series, books by favourite authors and such) and with games that are beginning to become stale. I've been a GameInformer subscriber for the last few months, and there's not much I care for that has an acceptable rating (damn big-budget companies only churning out M-rated games...) in their magazines, at least nothing that will be out in the next month or two. I've been considering a few things, but keep getting distracted. I've been pondering renewing my Runescape subscription as well as buying World at War, though the former isn't a permanent attraction and the latter has likely declined in players. What I want to know is what games you guys enjoy outside of the usual free text-based, browser, or download games, because I'm obviously only looking at a small portion of the market. Right now I have a Wii, PS3, and fairly high-end custom Windows XP computer, so if anyone recommends Halo I will just get agitated. So, any suggestions?

Meh. Unfortunately for my argument, it seems the energy required for spacetime distortion is more massive than you would assume from the show. Relevant to this argument.

The best I've seen is from SciFi science, in which a bubble of energy is created around a ship which is propelled by positive and negative energy deforming spacetime around it. The entire concept is not only possible but completely plausible, given a method of generating significant negative energy (which has already been done, but not on that scale).

Hey, aren't Sea Monsters dangerous? Just curious.
  18. Not if you let the Dwarf population get out of hand.
  19. Nexaduro replied to archimage_a's topic in Falador Tavern
... Erm, I KNOW that's incorrect. Can someone actually help, please?
  20. Retech, you play Dwarf Fortress! You should know that "thinking" does nothing! Aaaaalways check the food supply. And the alcohol supply. And the food/alcohol barrel supply.
  21. Meh. I share the sentiment that removing the count was pointless, I just have to remeind myself that it probably wasn't done out of spite. One thing annoys me, though, I wish I knew at what post count you recieved a new title. Nothing significant, just been bugging me.

Ok, I'm just plain confused now. Can someone give me a list of all available non-unique buildings and what they do?
  23. Nexaduro replied to Iconic's topic in Off-Topic
UNKILLABLE. Ze traps, zey do nothing!
  24. Nexaduro replied to Iconic's topic in Off-Topic
I only ever got one forge up-and-running, if you could call it that, and right after that everyone went insane/died.
  25. Nexaduro replied to Iconic's topic in Off-Topic
Ross, can you take screenshots of your fortress? I could really use some pointers and a picture's worth a thousand words.
