SoN V2: The Fall of Napta
There gonna be a session soon?

The Back Room
... The hell? Anyways, into the Barroth rhythm! Four tries in all, and my first try today has the Splashhammer taking it DOWN! Bwahaha, I could do that again no trouble! Barroth armour here I come!

Delta V
Nah, Alatreon isn't nearly as high as Barroth on the Difficulty and Badass scales.

Delta V
Sure, you're laughing now, but just wait until your planet is DEVOURED BY A GIGANTIG FLYING SPACE DINOSAUR MWAHAHAHAHAHA! Actually, that will probably just make everyone laugh harder. On a side note, what if a Ditto turned into a Barroth?

SoN V2: The Fall of Napta
The hell. Well, guess I stand corrected. It just sounds... well, silly. I probably should've known that you had a precedent for your use of the term, and I definitely should've looked it up. Same with you, Mather. My apologies.

That's the thing with the Daeka, they're meant to be able to completely alter the composition of absorbed organic materials. Ridiculous, but fun!

Delta V
Whaddaya think about Daeka Archi? Capable of allocating bodymass into practically any sentient (or non-sentient, if the individual sacrifices the ability to manipulate their structure except in ways preprogrammed into the original transformation), organic form physically possible, absorbing other biomass and manipulating it at will, making living ships and buildings, disguising themselves as other races, etc. Non-sedimentary minerals would be practically useless to them, except for weaponry and in some cases armour stronger than what they would be able to emulate. Of course, this is all invalidated if planetside manuevers and living ships isn't permissable.

SoN V2: The Fall of Napta
Can we stop coming up with frickin' stupid improper names for magic? I mean really, Cartomancy? Illumancy!? Things like "Necromancy" are latin words with actual meanings, can't we just say _____-manipulation or something? Sorry for the rant, I've been holding it in for a while and Barroth is annoying me. <_<

The Back Room
Eh, I'll be okay so long as I can SMASH THIS DAMNED BARROTH THROUGH THE GROUND AND INTO THE DEEPEST PITS OF HELL... After I loot it's corpse.

The Back Room
You don't, unless it naturally has an element or you have an armour with Awakening. I was close; his tail was severed, all the mud was gone, he was tiring out, and my switchaxe sword hits were all connecting wonderfully. I was barely getting hit, and he was being repeatedly knocked over. Then, as my luck mandates, time ran out. <_< I did get a tail, ridge, and wyvern tear from him. Dunno where the ridge came from, I tossed a throwing knife at his knee which hit and somehow managed to knock him over and make him drop the item.

Can Hammer attacks sever tails? I'm trying to decide whether to take a Ludroth Splashhammer or Bone Axe+ to fight the Barroth. I already tried fighting it with the first axe and managed to clear the mud from it's tail and do significant damage in general before dieing.

The Back Room
I have every weapon available, though I only use the Hammer and SnS. I'd keep the lance incase I ever need it, since I'm not too horrible with one, but I think I'll ditch the Greatsword. And I'm going to get a switch axe, becase they are cool, portable, and have high damage.

The Back Room
... Earthsage? It's pathetic in water, all you need to do is get up to the water's surface and it's a prime target for a hammersmash. Anyways, I mostly meant what weapon should I use? I've got a Ludroth Bone Maul, Ploshasta, Bone Blade+, Ludroth's Nail, Bone Tomahawk, and with a little work I can get a Switch Axe. Also, should I go with Piscine or Jaggi armour? Maybe Ludroth Greaves instead of Piscine Leggings?

Fighting the Barroth in the Arena as practice. This strongly reminds me of the dragonslaying plan from "Epic." It's actually not that hard, even in ragemode. It has a very simple attack rhythm, though I can definitely see fighting it being a battle of endurance. Anyways, right now I'm on the Royal Lulu. Any tips?

Which, in Eastern Time, means today!

SoN V2: The Fall of Napta
I try to accelerate the process of fingernail growth on that finger, or else remove the need for a nail by toughening the skin like the rest of his hand. (I thought I wasn't holding my fingers out, but alright. :P )

Dwarf fortress
Hehe, on the subject of combat reports, in my old fortress the leader of my military had an uncanny ability to always get a lucky hit on the first strike when going into combat unarmed... He shattered many a skull and, even though I never gave him a weapon, he had a higher kill count than the rest of my forces (save for Sibrek Bristlespear) combined.

SoN V2: The Fall of Napta
I walk over and hold out my hand half curled (not a fist, but not with the fingers out) to Kitlana's pet, grinning.

SoN V2: The Fall of Napta
I walk towards the ladder after Earth is done climbing/falling again, test my grip and it's sturdiness, then climb up and try to determine if there's any danger about, ready to duck back in.

SoN V2: The Fall of Napta
Hehe, I was the kook of the last SoN. 'Twas fun. Name: Oliver Weapon: Steel Crossbow (made to fire makeshift projectiles, in case bolts are scarce) Skill: Quick Learner (boost to exp gain [or exp gain chance, maybe?]) If not, then 1.0 Marksmanship. Description: Short (he's around 10) , thin with some lean muscle. I'm basing him off a character from "The Enemy" by Charlie Higson, but I don't have the book with me for reference and the wikipedia page character bio for him sucks so... yeah. Anyways, first action is to look around for a ladder out of the sewer, or anything else interesting.

Dwarf fortress
Eh, no worries Pie, I'm sure the constant flow of water will polish it nicely. The blood might even dye the walls a nice, festive red!
-
The Back Room
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT CONVERSATION, PIE! ALL HUMANITY IS AT RISK FROM THE GREAT JAG- Oh wait... it's a game... riiiiight. Nevermind. I liked SoN, Pie, but I might not be able to play while I'm hunting dinosaurs.

The Back Room
But when he starts to limp he just runs away to another section of the map and recovers as soon as he crosses the border... How do I prevent that?
-
The Back Room
Bah, damned Great Jaggi. How the hell do you capture it...? I know the method you're supposed to use, but I just can't do it right.
