  1. oh well, there goes my money-maker temporarily... looks like ill give DG a try again.
  2. I just have a quick question. Why have addy ores been dropping in price for a while? EDIT: sorry for the double post, I was confused as to the use of the cancel button.
  3. Does anyone know why adamantite ore has been on a steady decline in price for a while now?
  4. Agreed. The village looks a lot more open now which I like. I believe you are placed in there if you die while fighting count draynor in the vampire slayer quest. You use the crack to escape the prison.Only what I've heard though, don't quote me on it. :P Looks like my noob account can accomplish something after all lol. I'll have to get back to you on this.
  5. Well, thats annoying... now i either have to do mith bars or just addy ores... Anyway, though I am a melee person, I would love to see more balance in the triangle, or a set up where the triangle is not necessary.
  6. It (read: wave spells and magic bows) would probably balance things out for the most part, but because neither range nor mage are really that efficient or powerful in F2P, most people are meleers. So there you probably be mase raging by the general population over the fact that they can no longer kill a mage without taking off their full rune. Just a guess. In light of that, I want to get my magic level up. Do I need 70 smithing to superheat addy bars?
  7. And I give your arguments no respect because all they are is a string of one ad hominem after another. They aren't necessary; you could have said what you wanted without insulting people. OT: I think that it is a little better than 6 months ago. I rather liked the HP update just because when I started making a range pure I could see that leveling it up was actually accomplishing something; I knew that it was helping, but sometimes it helps to have slightly more tangible results. Dungeoneering was fun too, but the experience cap really sucks. And as for CW, instead of just listening to people's oppinions, why not get a month of membership, and try it out for yourself? If you like it, congratulations, you just got back (what I assume to be) your favorite minigame, and if you don't, then you have a month to level up or whatever before you go back to F2P if you so desire.
  8. The autograph part was easy if you kept in mind that he was replying to what you were supposed to say next, but I have to admit, it was pretty frustrating until I figured that out.
  9. I agree with zamorakninja. Having a clear cut rock-paper-scissors type of combat, although it would have certain pros, such as forcing people to be more balanced between the three, would get boring rather fast. I think that mages would ultimately lose out because in F2P they would not have room to carry another set or two of armor, runes, and food; it just wouldn't work. In P2P, with beasts of burden, it would be better, but in the even that you somehow lost your pack animal, you would be totally, completely, screwed. Gladly, but I'm F2P so all you have are blast spells. Sounds fun, doesn't it? Although, I have no doubt you could thoroghly own me with range or melee, but that wouldn't really be proving your point. Sorry, I just kinda had to say that :P
  10. I agree completely, but I have to point out that my rubber chicken will always be a rubber chicken. So, yes new players are getting a version of it, they aren't getting the actual thing. Now, if Jagex turned around and started giving out rubber chickens, bunny ears, and easter rings that would be pretty angry. And I think your point about never looking at the rewards again might be fueling their idea. They could be reasoning that no one will notice.
  11. Haha... you're a funny one <_< Thank you for reading too much into it. All I was trying to get across is that longbows are supposedly way more powerful than shortbows, but the damage and range [read distance] boost in game is not enough to make the longbow a legitimate counterpart to the short bow. All it is right now is a slower version of the shortbow that has a chance to do an extra 10LP or so damage.
  12. Granted. I wish people would listen to my ideas more.
  13. Lol, I think the really fun part of that was when I had wised up to the luring... I had somewhat good smithing, so I'd make some crappy armor. Then wait for those tell tale Black Platebodies or whatever just North of Edgeville and suicide for it  ahh good times, good times... Yea, I'd bring back that noobiness I once had if I could. I miss the adventure.
  14. It seems kinda prophetic :P I have seen many more threads just disolve into flaming in the past few weeks than I thought was normal. Or maybe I'm just unlucky... So if its not that I'm unlucky, I agree with he who posted this almost 3 years ago, namely that people need to chill out.
  15. Yes, but you can't just make an amulet of accuracy, so theoretically there is a finite number of amulets of accuracy in the market. That said, new players can gain one as a quest reward, so there are new ones, but not nearly as many new ones as there are new power amulets.
  16. True, but part of it is that I really don't want to stand in a bank for hours on end for a number. I get my stats up as I see fit. If I think I need 'x' Attack I'll go get it, but getting a 99 for the sake of the cape makes no sense to me. And because of that, I don't respect untrimmed fletching capes. To me, all it signifies is standing in a bank to get something a) because it is viewed that everyone over a certain level needs a 99 or b) that aside from some uses in Daemonhiem won't really let you do anthing you couldn't at level 85.
  17. What is it good for? Okay, if you like cooking, by all means, do it. But I think there are a lot of lvl 90s that are just grinding through cook/fletch to get their 99. I don't have a 99, but I have no real respect for 99 cooking or 99 fletching because they're buyable skills. I don't know, in my eyes, that just seems to take away from the prestiege of having the cape. For example I'd really enjoy a slayer cape, or a mining cape, or a quest cape, but I'll take my 20gp classic blue cape over an untrimmed fletching cape anyday. The only respect that I'm going to give 99 cooking or fletching is that they managed to get enough money to accomplish their goal of a 99. Thats just how I see it. No hating please. Of course, because everyone knows all you have to do to get a cooking cape is to pay 4m gp to a magical genie who instantly gives you 13m xp. Also, making money takes like zero time anyway, so any skill you can just buy--prayer or herblore, for example--is obviously worthless. Or runecrafting--anyone can just shell out a few mil for some ess and have 99 banked just like that. Or fishing--what a noob cape, you can buy all the bait you need for less than a mil. :wall: Well let me clarify this. I meant as a buyable skill something where one could buy all the raw materials and then stand in a bank for hours on end making whatever it was they were using to get their 99. That cannot be done with the combat skills (Magic aside). There is no way to get 99 defence by standing in a bank. The same goes for Slayer, or one of the skills you mentioned, Runecrafting. Mining is also a non-buyable skill, as are Agility, Thieving, and Hunter. These are examples of capes that require more "work" (in the end it is all still clicking though), and because you actually have to move your character, or Heaven forbid, compete with other players  , I will give them more respect.
  18. 100% agree. The idea has potential, but there are some drawbacks. What I'm really thinking is some sort of defence boost/accuracy penalty so that someone with a shield still has a chance of beating someone with dual weapons. As for the shield bash, I very much like that idea, although maybe a more powerful version for spikeshields and berserker shields.
  19. Technically, yes, that is true, but when people talk of PvP they generally mean on Bounty or PvP worlds where you risk your stuff in exchange for the chance to loot them/get some sort of drop if you kill them.
  20. What is it good for? Okay, if you like cooking, by all means, do it. But I think there are a lot of lvl 90s that are just grinding through cook/fletch to get their 99. 21. Yea, Goblin's LP have been lowered by 33. Probably because noobs were having trouble killing them or something. And I was going to post something to the effect of anim's post, but that seems like a waste of time now. Although, I must admit, I'm a little disappointed about the sling. I was really looking forward to unlimited ammo range training, but it isn't really worth it at this point. Also, I see no reason for this update. At all. Plus, there are standard slings that are worse than Kayle's sling. It all just seems so pointless. On a different note: I'm just going to start a micro-rant but I'm not putting in 'Rants' because it really doesn't need it's own topic. Here I go: Longbows have the exact same rangebonus as their shortbow counterparts. That makes absolutley no sense, and in my opinion, should be changed. [/rant] Thank You for your understanding :P
  22. Hm, I thought it was longer... and it doesn't really matter, it disappears either way...
  23. Just for kicks I picked up Kayle's sling from xenia and used it on some of the NPC people in Lumbridge, but after a few kills it said, "Continued use of the sling is not recommended at your range level. Try instead a shortbow with arrows or a crossbow with bolts. Talk to your adviser for more information on ammo." My issue with this is twofold. 1) There is no mention of a longbow, not even a hint. Why even have longbows exist then? It seems like Jagex knows they screwed up longbows bigtime and are hoping a Dungeoneering reward is enough to fix it. 2) Why do they give a weapon with unlimited ammunition to people and then expect them to not use it? I mean, sure it isn't as good as a maple shortbow, but it is close* so why not use a sling instead? *Just a Hypothesis, I'm going to look into this.
  24. I wish it was the old rules because there was no one on that world... my stuff would have been waiting for me :(
