Turns out if you see a big, tough guy at the gym and you need him to spot you, if you call him "big guy" he'll happily come help you out. But if you call him "tough guy" he'll try to kick your ass. People are weird.

I've gotten a followup interview every time I've had a phone interview >_> I always ask them basic friendly questions right when the call starts (e.g. how's your day going) and try to get them to open up a little. As for the interview itself, I've got a list of questions I expect them to ask and a list of my carefully-crafted answers which I can just read verbatim out of my notes so that way it's articulated perfectly... as opposed to an in-person interview where I need to memorize and practice my responses to their questions beforehand.
  3. Exactly. When people imagine an older guy dating a younger woman, their knee-jerk reaction is to imagine the woman being naive, stupid, and innocent; whereas the man is conniving and manipulative... as opposed to the older man just being a "normal" older guy who's mature, responsible, and honest.
  4. I think the "power dynamic" argument's just a myth... there's no such thing as an equal relationship; every monogamous relationship has a power dynamic to it, regardless of the age range. One person's the leader, the other's the follower. As long as both people enjoy their roles, then there's nothing wrong.

I was on a nearly-empty flight once... the only other people were about 5 people that looked like they were in a grunge band. They were vaping on the flight for the whole 2 hours. They told the flight attendant to [bleep] off when she told them to stop vaping lol. I had a minty headache for the rest of the day D:
  6. gotta get a some of that wife [kitty] (NSFW)
  7. If your current situation is making you unhappy like you said, and there isn't much hope for improvement in the near future like you said, then I think you know what you need to do
  8. False hope for what? What exactly were you expecting to happen? As a beginner, it's generally better to go into these kinds of situations with learning as your main priority, as opposed to success. If you expect to get laid or get a girlfriend on every date, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment if/when things don't go your way. Better to always ask yourself what you could've done differently and then do things differently next time until you can consistently behave in a way that will lead to success. Like ch'boi young obfuscator y'know'm said, it's good that you're trying and that you're intentionally putting yourself into uncomfortable and unfamiliar situations. That takes a lot of balls. The vast majority of the population is unwilling to do that, but you're willing. Good job.
  9. I get dates like that too. You can't win em all :P
  10. yeah i reluctantly got an undercut a while ago. in the future when I look back on it, I'll probably cringe since it'll be like the modern mullet on the topic of age, no there's absolutely nothing wrong with dating an 18 year old.
  11. That'd be funny if everyone ITT just started harassing the shit out of the trolls defending toxicity
  12. been a while since we've had a troll visit this thread
  13. I sent a screenshot of the convo to my [gay] friend. He told me I should go for it since he's cute lol. Same friend that's been having a sexual heydey ever since he came out :P
  14. Meanwhile, on OKCupid... Messages from some dude: (September 8): Hey man. Interested in a 3some with me and my girl? (September 13): ? (September 26): Yo (Just now): Hey dude. Straight but very open sexually (bisexual when it comes to sex). At my hotel now if you wanna come by quick for some good head? I should reply, "Sorry man I'm gay (but straight when it comes to sex)"
  15. These extremely rare cases prove my point :P

I'm not doing 5x5 though. I bought the bench specifically so I can do grease the groove like I did for my chinups a couple years ago. Only took about 1.5 months to be able to do a 1-arm chinup (start; finish) following that program.
  19. Where were you when this happened? Her apartment Did you try to kiss her while you were touching her?
  20. See, that's what I have a problem with. It doesn't add danger by any means. It adds inconvenience. Say I'm skilling - mining to be more exact. Someone who I'm competing with decides to kill me for hours straight (as has happened). There's no danger, just wasted time. I'm not losing anything when I die. If I'm banking the ore, no one cares that I've lost a whopping 10 ore before he's killed me again. I'm losing the few seconds/minutes spent travelling back, which is often a single click. I know DarkScape give the impression, "You could be attacked and killed at any time by anyone! The risks are high! Etc etc etc..." However, in reality, it's, "You're most likely only risking 500gp in resources you've managed to gather before a 1 itemer comes to PK you for no personal gain of their own apart from the satisfaction being a prick and wasting someone's time!" But isn't every form of "danger" simply some form of inconvenience? Danger in real life implies potential permanent negative consequences (such as death). But AFAIK such a thing doesn't really exist in RS; the only thing you're ever risking is your free time.

Nice. I haven't actually tried doing that in a while. What's your bench at now? I was benching about 215 lbs @ ~135 lbs about 2 months ago. But then I had a minor injury from squatting so I took a week off. Then my car had problems so that was another week I couldn't lift. For the past two weeks I've been stuck at 205, which is pretty frustrating. I'm buying the bench so I can train it the same way I did with my one arm pullup a couple years ago-- just benching as often as possible while I'm home every single day without burning out. So hopefully I'll gain strength much more rapidly this way... otherwise I'll probably just commit honorable seppuku :P My only other concern is that my posture will get messed up as a result of having such a disproportionately strong bench compared to my other lifts >_>

Been frustrated w/ my plateauing bench press strength lately so I bit the bullet and decided to buy a bench press for my home so I can bench every day lol Anyways, for those of you who didn't know, on certain companies' websites, you can add stuff to your shopping cart, go all the way through the checkout (give them your email, billing and payment info), but then when it comes time to actually place the order, you just close the window and act like you decided not to buy anything at the last second. Within about 24 hours you'll get an email from them (since they have your email now), offering you a discount. In my case, the bench I was looking at was $250 + $150 shipping. Didn't wanna pay for shipping so I figured I'd just wait till I got the discount and then pay for it online and pick it up at the store. Ended up getting a 10% discount after about 24 hours, and then another $50 discount the following day. So I ended up paying about $190, including tax... saved myself about $70 :D
