  1. No, not really - PJers are all cowards and hide in safe zones till they get the chance to strike. While staying outside of a safe zone (particularly in a hot spot) increases your drop potential, staying inside a safe spot drastically decreases your drop potential. Therefore they really aren't going to get any good loot - rather, they're just going to embarrass themselves and waste their money on spoiling other people's fun/achievements. And my point is, anyone with basic survival knowledge knows to keep protection prayers on, so even if they hit a 45-45 it'd do 45 damage instead, and it's easy to heal over 65hp per turn when you need to. Not to mention the fact that since PJers don't know how to kill people in a fair fight, they probably don't have the brains to navigate around obstacles and free themselves from being trapped behind walls and such when their targets trap them and escape. Yes PJ'ing is unfair and spoils the fun, but I don't think people have the right to complain about it when they don't know how to survive in the first place. It's like when mages complain about not being able to KO people but they haven't researched the skill enough to know how to stack spells together to devastate people. wanafiteaboutit?
  2. Just wondering - how come you consider the 7 rock lob spot to be better compared to luring 9? Is it in terms of combat xp/hour or charms/hour? Also... smoke barrage is just about as efficient as ice barrage (only slightly less) but a great alternative from lvl 88-93 A few of my friends had done tests in the past as well, comparing ice barrage to burst and they also found barrage to be more efficient. Here's one of their calculations (though may be inaccurate in some price areas but still true)
  3. barrage rock lobsters on defensive :P
  4. I was unaware that the PJers had formed some sort of cult-alliance. :-k Anyways, hot shot, I really don't mind you trying to PJ people - it only reflects your inability to perform tasks on RS which require critical thinking and situational awareness. A prime case of people who have great stats but absolutely no skill/talent
  5. Muggi, you smell like a genius. + 1  isn't really helpfull when youre getting d claws or dds or just a godsword =\ you cant eat as fast as they hit When I PK I turn the camera so that their weapon hand is facing me - if I see it change from a whip to something else I start eating. I've never been KO'd since I started using my necklaces... if they get me down to 1hp, necklace (30) + shark (20) + brew (15) heal me back to 66hp in one turn then I can just equip another necklace and repeat if they're still trying to KO me
  6. zombie monkeys. got like 1M melee xp in a day w/o paying much attention
  7. yes it's worth it in a variety of situations.. I got it right after I got 99 range
  8. You only get food if your opponent had food. I've never gotten food from a drop. lol 45-45 d bow kill? no time for food.. What are the odds of that? Especially if you had range pray on... Assuming that every d bow spec will be a 45-45 you may as well not even enter any fights cuz for all you know, your opponent could be speccing w/ a dark bow and hitting 45-45s..
  9. In that case, it's called thinking ahead :P What exactly is there to think ahead about? You're out of food and you've won the fight (so you've obviously thought ahead enough to prepare yourself to beat your opponent)...putting on prayer won't stop them from killing you and teleporting is not the proper solution to what is in fact a problem. Similar to what Danqa said... When I'm low on food, start moving the fight to a safe zone so I can run to safety immediately after killing my opponent. I also look around me for people in void or facing me w/ daggers and such... as soon as my opponent dies I turn on piety and a protection prayer and escape. With vengeance and dragonfire bolts I usually shoot PJ'ers once if they come by - if they hit a nasty DDS spec, veng and a bolt usually kills them LOL Doesn't hurt just to run to a safety zone and kill them within 10 seconds there too. If you're going to be PK'ing far away from safe areas, it's usually smart to bring a friend to protect you in those situations. Otherwise, that's just how PK'ing goes - it's risky and you must learn to adjust. I also usually have one or two phoenix necklaces left as well as 3 doses of brew. That right there is enough to keep me immune from KOs. I use a "survivor" PK'ing style, rather than a "killer"
  10. Those kills were KO's very early in the fight... so I don't think the people challenged me w/ 5 food in their bag or were pk'ing with 1/2 anchovy pizzas
  11. You only get food if your opponent had food. I've never gotten food from a drop. I always get like 5 various high level food drops Tuna potatoes, sharks, manta rays, turtles, cheese potatoes... The more your opponent is risking, the better food you get
  12. In that case, it's called thinking ahead :P
  13. There's a reason why there's always 100hp in food drops from your kills
  14. your setup is almost exactly like mine, with one difference - i use infinity bottom. ahrim's robebottom weighs 10.5kg, infinity robebottom weighs 2kg. small sacrifice in magic att makes up for the 8.5kg, i think. I'm always near 100% That's a very good idea - and yeah, I average 350 crimsons per 1k barrages as well I'll start using infinity bottoms in the future :D
  15. ranging works decently well on them.. just use the safespot
  16. I dont see you losing duels with or without a pony. I think he means you don't need a pony to do well in the tournies... I got my rank back when I was 70 def, 94 magic, 99 range fighting all those crazy maxed people who didn't know how to fight :P Never had to fight many ponies tho What? A pony makes a huge difference in duel tournaments, I've defeated 3+ high levels in a row in a food-off fight simply from the healing.
  17. I still need to teach you how to do TDs properly so you don't bring all that extra junk :P
  18. If you're gonna train agility, use mechanical mice till you can use the wilderness course... it's TONS faster than the gnome course (like 25k xp/hour?) from level 1
  19. can you rephrase that so I can say "That's what he said!"
  20. I just got back from skiing in Telluride w/ my fraternity - it was my first time skiing :o My friends thought they could teach me but they were wrong so the first day out was a waste of time... second day I took lessons which lasted 5 hours and I met a cute girl there too :D The lessons apparently cost $150 but I had a voucher for 1/2... plus the instructor apparently forgot to charge me so I ended up getting a whole day's worth of skiing lessons for free Became pretty decent by the time the trip was over - I was able to keep up w/ my friends from the top of the mountain
  21. Sounds reasonable. :-k
  22. Well back in like September or October I was too busy w/ college/fraternity to play RS so I'd just get on every night long enough to do Bork and every week to go penguin hunting and spend pts on summoning... started that routine at like 72 summoning ... thanks to WGS and getting 98-99 magic from rock lobsters I'm now 86 summoning. I'm thinking about going to waterfiends or rock lobsters again to get 88 summoning for the unicorn, but I'm wondering - is it really as handy as it was back when people first got it? Keep in mind I mostly just play RS by myself now so I'd really only be using it for solo'ing bosses like TDs, DKs, and GW Can anyone elaborate on the duration/kill counts of DK and GW trips w/ the unicorn? Any other ways to make money with it or handy uses from it? You can look at my stats - I haven't been to DKs or GW since like August due to lack of free time :\ Should I bother going for it now or just keep stocking up on Bork'd charms and penguin points?
  23. I've got a big list of goals on a file on my comp... ranging from inane, fun goals (i.e. learning how to moonwalk) to serious long-term ones like following a rigorous workout routine 5 days a week till I finish college. I've also got dream (albeit attainable) goals like becoming a guitar virtuoso and such haha primary 3 atm are work out consistently, upgrade my fashion wardrobe, and date/meet as many new girls as I can :
  24. The principles that you (we) are teaching him are things that make sense logically yet still won't become internalized after years and years of experience/living through the principles. He's not going to be able to overcome his fear of rejection before the dance. The best solution is to have him man up and ask her out and have a good time. If he gets rejected, he'll learn that it isn't the end of the world and worse things could've happened. It doesn't matter if you have positive or negative experiences in these kinds of situations - either way they all add up and fortify your beliefs in the future till the right principles have become internalized. So, be sure that he asks her out and remind him that it's not the end of the world if she rejects him. Remind him, "What's the worst that could happen?" - he'll either say "she'll say no" or "she'll say no [plus many other unlikely events]" - in either case you just remind him how little the significance or odds of those things happening are.
