  1. My cousin picked up a RAT 5 and really liked it. Had some laser issues so he took it back to replace it and all they had in stock were the G9X so he picked on of those up. Said they are both great. I haven't tried the G9X but the RAT is good.

Nice, well maybe tonight or something I'll be getting a copy of it for myself. Did you notice a difference in battery life when going SSD? MBP I presume? What kinds of changes were made to the gestures? Does the Magic Mouse still work the same if you own one? Cheers
  3. I've had a chance to play with both. I prefer the Garmin as it was a little easier to find what you are looking for and has a great set of maps. I simply prefer the Garmin because I've used it myself more.

How is it Laura? Any faster than Snow Leopard? Nice to use? I'm thinking of upgrading.
  5. To add to this comment, I've had strong wireless N connections before and still had some lag issues and logging out. Sometimes it seems that rs is the only application that is bothered. If at all possible you should use a wired connection. Wireless issues could also arise with several networks nearby. I know when I was living in my appartment it had more troubles with like 15 networks available. Cheers,
  6. If you're looking at the Logitech G9X it's more closely comparable to the RAT 7 which has different pinkie rests and thumb rests. Similar in price as well, at least here they are.
  7. I notice nobody else has mentioned the different size disks. The one he can get at target is likely the 3.5" model and I'm almost certain the macbook will take a 2.5" only, that's why there are no issues going to SSD as the vast majority are all 2.5". Hopefully it all worked out if you've already swapped drives.
  8. I'm not sure about all TV and soundbar, depends on the remote and models of both. Just remember the PS3 is only bluetooth, so you need a bluetooth remote control as well.
  9. Thanks! I honestly didn't know. Last time I checked swiftkit I didn't see it. I just use the client on my windows computer anyways.
  10. I was thinking about getting the G9X, glad you mentioned it. I've nerfed the DeathAdder, i can't stand it. And very few people seem to like the R.A.T, so yeah.. I think RAT is one of those mice that you either love or hate. It all depends on your presonal preference.
  11. I'm not sure if it's available for OSX, but the official RS Client can be used for playing RS out of a browser environment. Unfortunately there is no client for OSX, nor is there anything like swiftkit, you are limited to browser gaming. I use Safari for all of my browsing on my macbook as I find it a tad bit faster and to me that's what makes the difference. The Flash support is only for the mobile OS's that Apple has(iPad, iPhone, iPod), all of the touch devices and does not affect the computers. And yes OSX Lion will be released very soon I'm sure. The App Store should be on the Dock at the bottom of the screen and you can purchase all sorts of different apps and Lion when it comes out there. Cheers.
  12. I agree, it looks like a decent monitor. I have 2 24" monitors and like the larger displays but if you're happy with the smaller I'm sure it would be good.
  13. I have the RAT 5 and love it. Depending where you're at I know a couple shops that have the RAT 7 on display to try out. Same mouse basically with a more sensitive laser and some changeable plates I think. For the size you just need to lengthen the back. Easy to do, you can also change the weight quite a bit if you find that would make a difference. I did just get it a few weeks ago though, never had any experience with any other gaming mice though.
  14. SSD prices are dropping rapidly. If you are looking at one check out the new OCZ Vertex 3. They are Sata 3 and are about twice as fast as the Vertex 2. My next one will be a 120GB I'd imagine, the 60Gb doesn't allow for many programs really. Especially if you start loading games.
  15. I've also ran it on less of a computer. It doesn't seem to matter how good it is you will always get some lag in places with lots of people though.
  16. To add to that, I'm not sure if the onboard will run dual monitors...
  17. The 5770 is great to set up 2 monitors on. The one you picked out will actually run 3 monitors with the Display Port output. I have the ASUS 5770 and it doesn't have the display port and will only display 2 monitors. Something to be conscious of if you might consider a 3rd monitor sometime. As for the audio card I'm not sure how much difference they are. I've never really tried them out but onboard sound is good as far as I know. :)
  18. I still fail to see why everyone is so against the macbooks. Anyone care to explain this to me? I realize they cost more but you are getting more for the money you spend... I also want to add that 4Gb of Ram may be a little low. Depending what you're really going to do with the computer. I have the runescape client, 2 internet explorer windows open and a word document. The rest is mostly windows in the background and I'm using up 3Gb of my 8Gb with only 1Gb sitting completely free. Just an idea to think about if you plan on doing some heavy multitasking.
  19. My max has also been 51fps and my comp is pretty high end.
  20. The netbook screen is really so small that it isn't very useful. You could get a couple 24" monitors for like $160-170 each. Well worth the investment.
  21. If you go to a desktop I recommend 2 screens. Makes papers, projects and lab reports much easier.
  22. I just bought the Cyborg R.A.T. 5 and love it.
  23. I've never ran parallels to be honest. I suppose you would likely keep most of the battery life. I bet you would find OSX nice to use if you got used to it. I prefer Windows 7 but OSX is great for at school when you're not trying to multitask as much. I do run a Windows 7 Desktop with 3 screen for projects. I prefer windows for running multiple windows over OSX but it does work nicely. I do use both and the macbook is well built.
  24. Don't waste your time with a mac if you're just going to boot into windows all the time. The battery life is almost cut in half.
  25. I think the macbook pro is a pretty good laptop for school. Best for battery life and stuff. Work really nice for notes in lecture. I use mine with the wireless keyboard and mouse as well. The flat keyboard on laptops drives me crazy if I get stuck taking notes for a couple hours. There is Apple Education pricing as well. If you're at all interested check out the website and look at the prices. They do cost more for sure but I find they work better for class. If you aren't going to take it to class I'm not sure I'd recommend spending the extra money on the mac. It depends on what you really need to run for programs.
