I am glad to see someone talking about this. I am just shy of level 84 slayer. I have been very upset seeing prices drop as I continue to spend resources to gain these levels. By the time I reach level 85 prices will be around 1.8million. Slayer skill has been the most expencive skill to raise with only Prayer in close contention. The price gap between how costly is is to raise Slayer (*Prayer) versus all other skills is so wide it is outrageous. Of course my personal time being the most costly resource. But no mater how much I want to cry about it nothing is going to change. Not unless Jagex really will or has adjusted drop rates. But also, only if that drop rate is adjusted somewhat dramaticly and not just slightly. Let those whips rot! ! ! iz

Guide to Soloing the Chaos Elemental (AOW discussion)
SBD_Izzy replied to Lime_Mercury's topic in General Guides
good work. -
Does anyone have a link to any 'safe' site that has these drop rate odds posted? I am doing some studies on drop rates and i would not want to bother myself with work that has already been done. Hopeful the information could help me.

I have two monitors hooked up to my pc and a tv behind them. This keeps me from getting bored which allows me to do the long tedious tasks that are required to gain higher skill lvls. The writing for tv shows is always getting worse each year. So they are worth very little attention anyway. My second monitor is usualy on forums. I also like to check out or checking out http://www.gamesindustry.biz once a day. It keeps me up to date on the latest games. Good rescource since Comcast realy screwed up TechTv, following by a total foul up with G4tv. You should save up a bit and buy Band of Brothers.

MONSTERS (Slayer) have decreased ALL their drops?
SBD_Izzy replied to xyphia's topic in General Discussion
Difficult to weed through the rational posts, huh jimbob? I was thinking they might have taken steps to correct the game economy. There are some people around tip.it that are always talking about rs economy, positive and negative. So this was my first assumption. Then this got my ears all puckered... Maybe we should not jump to conclusions about the root cause of the issue. I am positive clue drops have been affected, but as i have always read, r.o.w. does not effect clue drops. Never the less, I will try not wearing wealth for the next few days. Yeah? Thanks! And did you know you can overcome the odds with overwhelming numbers! Well now you know, and knowing is half the battle! -
MONSTERS (Slayer) have decreased ALL their drops?
SBD_Izzy replied to xyphia's topic in General Discussion
I think most of us know that there is a difference between rare, semi-rare, clues and good drops. I believe drop rates for clues and good drops have been adjusted. This from my own experience and that of three other "stay in the field" manic friends. Some people actualy kill 187 monsters without a break other than dropping off inventory in their bank then running right back. And some of us actualy do this three times per day for Slayer assignments. Doing this gives you an insight or intuition on how random 'luck' works in the game. Even if you know the odds or not. Having one or two days a week of doing that with no luck is very common. But two weeks straight of bad luck... and that actualy happening to serveral people? This is not normal. -
MONSTERS (Slayer) have decreased ALL their drops?
SBD_Izzy replied to xyphia's topic in General Discussion
I am a slayer myself. I spend about 3 hours nonstop, every other day, slaying and longer on weekends. These last few weeks I have also noticed a serious reduction in drops. I need to make less trips back to bank and I have been getting almost no clues. Previously I would get 2 clues per day as compaired to these last two weeks I have only gotten 1 clue. I was hoping it was just bad luck :!: -
omg dnt click here!!! DONT CLICK!! NOOOOOO!

Some people need help from doctors to maintain their lives and it's sad to see some people are deprived of the help they need. On the other hand, people whom do not need such help turn out like that because of bad parenting. That kid either needs some legalized (lobbied) dope to calm him down or an evenhanded dose of love and discipline. Either way I would keep him away from all interactive devices that excite him. -

Test Result: Positive event. At close range (melee), using Protect from Melee prayer provided full protection. Using prayer on Protect from Magic damage was inflicted on me. Using prayer on Protect from Melee damage was inflicted on me. Using prayer on Protect from Missiles and damage was not inflicted on me. Test result: Positive event. At a distance (range), Protect from Missiles prayer provided full protection. Test 1.3.1 Repeated test 1.0 without wearing any form of armour or bonuses. At close range (melee) I used prayer Protect from Melee and did not take damage. Test Result: Positive event. At close range (melee), using Protect from Melee prayer provided full protection while not wearing armour. Test 1.3.2 Repeated test 1.3 without wearing any form of armour or bonuses. Test 2.0.0 *Equipment Full black D-Hide Farseers Helm Obsidian cape Amulet of Fury Holy Book (Saradomin) Mystic Lava Staff Slayer Boots(as required) *Defence Stats: stab:+135, Slash:+123, Crush:+145, Magic:+134, Range:+119 I attacked the Killerwatt at close range (melee), and used no prayer protection. I was attacked 146 times and the Killerwatt inflicted damage 19 times. Test Result: Negative event. Damage was inflicted upon me. Test 2.3.0 *Same equipment setup as in test 2.0 I attacked the Killerwatt at close range (melee). Using prayer on Protect from Magic damage was inflicted on me. Using prayer on Protect from Missiles and damage was inflicted on me. Using prayer on Protect from Melee damage was not inflicted on me. Test Results: Possitive event. At close range (melee), Protect from Melee prayer provided full protection. Test 2.4.0 *Same equipment setup as in test 2.0 I ran from Killerwatt and kept my distance. Killerwatt did not follow to close the distance. Using no prayer damage was inflicted upon me. Using prayer on Protect from Magic damage was inflicted on me. Using prayer on Protect from Melee damage was inflicted on me. Using prayer on Protect from Missiles damage was not inflicted on me. (Ref. test 1.3) Test results: Negative event. No new data discovered. Findings Summary: At close range (melee), using Protect from Melee prayer provided full protection. At a distance (range), Protect from Missiles prayer provided full protection. These tests confirm data for Killerwatts is correct. Special Notes: 1. At close range the killerwatt will sometimes use a range attack on you and alternate between melee and range combat styles. If you move and force the Killerwatt to adjust position this can, if done correctly, stop his range attacking at close range to you. This is a visual note for those of you who missed it. 2. During the distance range tests, after I was attacked over 412 times and the Killerwatt gave up attacking. Then I attacked the Killerwatt to re-initiate combat. I ran from him but he would-could not range me so he followed me. After a four attempts to stay a range distance away from the Killerwatt it finaly stopped following me and began to range attack. -
Beastiary - Drop lists of Killerwatt & Chaos Elemental
SBD_Izzy replied to Adam007's topic in General Discussion
srry i have to correct myself they use range and melee attacks It would seem we all do not have the full grasp of Killerwatt combat style. With the drops you have all posted, which i have gotten myself, prove to be nice and profitable compaired to other slay monsters. I got an assignment of 64 of little guys and naturaly assumed I would knock them out real fast because of their low level. How wrong I was. I was wearing full guthan and they hit me constantly. I did a search and found this thread. I tried wearing full black d-hide and I still got hit (about 60%). Then I continued to read through the thread and tried using prayer. I used all forms of prayer and was still damaged. This would confirm at very least they are attacking with more than one combat form. But this it is not definitely only two. I'll post test finding back here. If anyone is conducting tests please contact me in game or PM me here. sbd_izzy Edit: Tried using cannon and would not work. Message: "All the electricity in the area prevents the cannon from functioning." -

Tip.It Times Presents: English: Its Proper Form

Hats off to Zonorhc. -
A vast majority of companies around the world are doing immoral things in the name of profit. Child slave labor is used to sell us all clothing as profitably as possible. Drug company disclaimers warn of of serious side effects and "in some rare cases death", but they keep on pushing that drug. Chemical companies pollute our planet and make us all sick just to sell us shampoo, make-up, house cleaners and industrial materials. Recently search engine companies have shown an interest in helping communists suppress human rights issues because "we have to abide by their laws". Most of these companies pay off our governments to keep restrictions low. Jagex is no different and you are very confused thinking their banning cheaters is a moral action. By banning these people Jagex is attracting a larger number of customers who feel the issue of cheating is important. Heres a moral issue. Jagex knows that most of their players are under the age of 18 with 48% under the age of 15. Yet they show banner adds with sexual innuendo and do not respond to complaints about it. Of course morality is subjective.
-
To those of you who think a "paying customer" should be allowed to cheat and have fun anyway they would like; Some day someone will pull one over on you. Something tramatic. Such as cheat you out of a job, out of proper healthcare for your family, or a spouse... Then you just might figure out how cheating is a blight on society and why it should not be allowed to mature into the minds of our youth. I seriously believe that those whom are willing to cheat others in a game are very likely to cheat others later on in real life.

Guide to 1-Item objects (ed. Jul 2006) (AOW Discussion)
SBD_Izzy replied to DragnFly's topic in General Guides
I thought I was the only person who kept more than one of everything to organize bank space! So many people have picked on me about it. Telling me to sell that extra D-hally when i say i am broke, or telling me to give up that extra wealth because you can only wear one at a time. Finaly someone else understands why the price on the second to last item is the same as if it were the last item available! Because it is dam it! OHHH sweet placeholder! How I love thee... -
umm elpadrino, you are not naming names are you?
-
I think flames such as the one I wrote are far more enjoyable than the one liners calling people old boot wearing, rusty sword wielding, Experiment look-alike newbies. In other words.... BUMP... acknowledgment.
-
Good point. But zeke did not say he/she did not ready it. We all love to flame though, don't we. Me included... You can usualy gauge how passionate someone is on a topic by the legnth of their discussion. When I come across rhetoric that is at the far end of the 'length scale', as compaired to all other discussions on any topics, I am very suspicious of it. It brings out the cynic in me. I mull it over and first try to figure out if the information is factual. Followed by a check for consistency. Inconsistent statements are a good sign someone is just showing off their ability to use a keyboard if nothing else. Then I target the points which are made to sway opinion. After which, I ponder the relative subject in frame with what is commonly accepted by the mass public, the politics of the subject and politics of even bringing up the subject. Finaly I add all that togather as if it were a formula. Ninety percent of the time I find passionate rhetoric to be worthy of suspicion even at times when I completely agree with it. I bring up this cynical viewpoint of examination not solely about this thread. But its interesting that a large number of long passionate threads like this one have been populating the tip.it forums since Jagex took strong public action against cheaters. End post.

the throwing pies we have been hearing about
SBD_Izzy replied to gunshafted's topic in General Discussion
That was my impression. Well, I figured it was generally something to annoy other pkers at least. IMHO... I read a few rational people on this thread. ... I always see SKULLED players in Edge cursing at one another about who would have owned who and who ran first. Blah, blah, flame, flame. It would seem not everyone whom is skulled is honest about their situation. Being skulled is a sign that you are a player killer, or at least are willing to make the attempt. Others should be wary of you. Being skulled is a badge of honor as some people see it. Based on that my guess is that Jagex wants to clarify this situation. If you stick it out and fight, you win the skull as a badge of victory. If you chicken out and run there is a chance you could be stigmatized with a badge of shame. Now since there is pie involved and it is commonly known that throwing pies at people has to do with hitting them in the face with it, i extend my best guess. I would be willing to gamble that the badge of shame will be a pie stuck onto your characters face and replace whatever you are wearing on your head. I would further bet that you would need to find a water source to wash it off. -
I love them Aberrant Specters too. Lots of good herbs, seeds, rune items and drops from newbies passing by :-P My fav has to be Irond Dragons though. Since Oct 2005 I have gotten seven dragon leg/skirt drops. 15k+ blood runes and about 2 lvls of prayer due to them! Currently 67.

As a parent I am more concerned with the sexual innuendo in the damn banner adds. Not at all appropriate for 14yo and under

Just a guess, but if i went there now the place would be crowded with people giggling.
