Wow 28 days! That means you can disappear for like 2 months, incredible. I don't know if taking vacation time and quitting is the greatest idea though. They're going to call the place and ask how employee X was when you are applying for the next job, aren't they?

Unrelated question, but if you have unused paid vacation time at a job, do you typically get compensated for it if you lose or quit the job? Seems to say in a handbook that you get it but I am curious if this is actually the case.

So I got an email back from someone I had contacted 6 days ago today. Gmail had a suggestion for a response: "Thanks for the quick reply!"

I'm not completely sure, but I believe that was a daily thing a couple weeks ago giving clue scrolls for having good account security, but it's over now. So until there's another news announcement about it, you won't be able to claim more rewards.

It would be hard to troubleshoot without seeing your interface and being able to adjust it (which unfortunately isn't possible) but maybe you could reset your interface to one of your presets or default settings? That should get it back.

So we were told in no uncertain terms that we would be working this weekend, which is fine. And after a call today, they told three of us to work on this proposal. But the other two people had plans and one guy was worse than useless. He asked our boss for delete permissions for these files, and then deleted a newer version of a file I needed to compile everything and kept an older one. I managed to get it from my work computer so it was just a small delay and I didn't have to do the changes I had made over again, fortunately. I think it's finally done now...

I'm sure that's an equal pain, but that seems like a different issue. I am a citizen and have a social - the hangup was address. Nominally, it's so the government can seize assets if they suspect fraud or money laundering - they need to show account X is tied to address Y of person Z who is not paying their taxes or is doing something else fishy.

So today I finally got my money back from this checking account I tried to open a while ago. Who know it had to be so complicated? I opened an account at Citibank one weekend, and everything appeared to go fine, with them telling me it would be processed shortly. Sure enough, Monday it was done and I was able to log in. I was also able to transfer a significant amount of money in. I still had not received my debit card the next weekend, so I called and they sent it. The following weekend I went to try to withdraw money and it wouldn't work ("invalid account type"). I called and they said it was blocked. After some prodding they told me I couldn't take money out because my address was not verified. I wasn't in any hurry so the next weekend I got a utility statement and mailed that over to them. Unfortunately it took 8 (??) business days + 2 Saturdays for my letter to get to them. By that time, it was "too late" and they had closed my account. Apparently the government has a rule that checking accounts need to have a verified address within 30 days, which is not only a silly rule in the scheme of things but one that I was conveniently not told about in any of my conversations. So they're supposed to give me the money back, obviously. I call up and ask how I will get it back. To my address. Which one? The one they were unable to verify. OK then.. Today was the 10th business day (and they promised to send it back in no more than 10) and I was about to write some complaints this weekend when I found it's been direct deposited into my original checking account that I sent it from (today). So if they ever start wondering why Americans don't save money...

I'm leaning toward yes, you can purchase and yes them, but I can't find any "proof" and my invention is far too high to test it myself.

I guess you decided to flea the products then...I've never had pets so I haven't dealt with those issues. Hope it's not too terrible though.

I'm so exhausted from work - and not from the work itself but the temperature. Today was a second consecutive day where it was at or near 80 a significant chunk of the afternoon and my body doesn't want to cope. I'm sitting at home with the thermostat at 66 in lighter clothes than work and it feels about right. I have mentioned this before to get them to knock it down and for a day the building management kept it from 73-74 which was decent, but then it went back to normal. Every sunny day it gets insane in the afternoon and the trend isn't looking good. But I'm not sure complaining again is wise when a couple other people are (somehow?) sitting around wearing coats. It almost feels like I have a low grade fever at this rate, though...not sure what's going on. Also regarding the OT and spambot situation, I will just say publicly so I'm not leaving everyone in the dark that we need to have some internal discussions before proceeding and we'll try to get back with an update when we can. With different timezones and work schedules it takes a bit sometimes.
