On the first yeah maybe, but then they disappeared at the end of the day and didn't even say bye (like usual). I wasn't getting that vibe. I hope nothing bad happened but also get the feeling they would say if it's a death in the family. I guess they'll tell us eventually.

So the secretary here brought her daughter to work which was kind of odd. Maybe trying to get her a job? Also one of the two guys in charge is out for a second week due to a family emergency..wonder what it could be honestly that takes so long and in-person.

I mean if you don't go to sleep, the waking up part is completely unnecessary.

On a (maybe) lighter note, I had a delicious pizza this evening, as well as a whole pineapple...
  5. It's the bonecrusher equivalent for ghosts - it gives prayer xp and auto-buries their ashes.

I think that should be all now. I'll keep an eye on things in case there are any further issues.

Jagex using it is enough reason to turn around and run from it as fast as humanly possible.

Nonsense...the American electoral college is designed to have locational diversity in elections, so that the entire country is represented, not just its most populous areas. Until the voting process is changed to simple majority of votes, a president elected with sub 50% is just as legitimate as one elected with above 50%. If you think popular vote is the panacea of democracy, you should advocate for a constitutional amendment, not imply presidents are illegitimate. Also, there's no such thing as "shoving" a justice onto the supreme court - pretty sure the nomination and confirmation processes are exactly the same for all presidents. Anyway, I suspect your feelings on the matter have more to do with political disagreements than legitimate issues with the processes Just for the record, 60 senators down to 50 was a pretty significant change. And I'm not sure it'll be all that great when Democrats nominate equally polarizing figures next.

Canadian and Irish too (Halloween). Canadian Thanksgiving is a separate holiday though, which takes place this Sunday. I still find it weird that the rest of the world isn't into Halloween. It's literally the eat candy and cosplay holiday. Why does no one else want in on this? Perhaps it's one reason why us Americans are so overweight! And Saq no fair, that's double-dipping on the candy! Do your grocery stores have a three-month sale on it?
  10. I don't think you can stop getting them completely. But if you pick up the bag for them, you can put the shards in the bag, store the bag in your bank, and then you only waste one bank space with them. See here: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Expert_skillcape_shard_bag

    That's even easier then!

How can I get a ballpoint pen mark out of my clothes? Should I put hand sanitizer on it and let it soak for a while and try to blot it off?

I found something in a program with its own coding language that was a serious error. It called a certain function which initialized everything, and immediately after that cleared all the variables! This was a signed-and-sealed projects from months ago too, and my boss was pretty surprised to see it. The code (somehow?) still worked as intended, and I only noticed it when I tried adding on stuff and some flags were showing "0" instead of "false."

Have you been living under a rock? *under a rock, with no cell reception. So I had a presentation to give, and only about a day to write it since software issues, but that's another story. Anyway we were having a lunch catered too, so I asked if we were going to have lunch first. And they said nah, we can do both. And no one pointed out the obvious fact that I couldn't give a seminar and eat at the same time which was hysterically funny. So I gave it, and it was about an hour like they mentioned it should be. They were really impressed with the quality especially on the timescale.

Tomorrow I get to interview someone...this should be fun. Let's see if he can figure out anything about Benford's law.
  17. I am not sure but the folks in the Swiftkit forum should be able to help, so I'm moving your topic there. It may help them out to post a crash lag of whatever it did output when you ran it.

August 13th I told this company I had a job offer that required a decision by the end of that week (and that I accepted and just started Tuesday). Today they wrote back, said sorry for the delay, is letting me know in another two weeks okay?

I told my colleague at work that I thought it would hit 100 today. And guess what, the high was *exactly* 100...

I had my first day at work today. I thought it would be fine to walk over at a temperature of 75 in the morning, but apparently the humidity was more than I thought and my shirt was wet by the time I got there. Fortunately it dried out before too long, but walking back when it was still low 90s was not a barrel of laughs either. I guess I'll pack a change of shirt and a towel for tomorrow, and just change in the bathroom before I go in. Other than that it was pretty cool, spent some time doing HR stuff and meeting the other people again. I'm going to be working on ants and applications of their biological systems for clustering in regard to some other applications.

Looking good man, I love the puns. Have you ever made an RPGmaker-type game? Or is it too cookie-cutter for your taste?
  22. To add onto that, many of Old School's updates effectively piggyback off the RS3 versions and make a version of it scaled for the 2007 version of the game. For example, they didn't throw the Dungeoneering skill in there, but the raids activities are not far off.
  23. I could try mentioning it but I honestly wouldn't have high hopes of much impact, unless it somehow comes back on its own.. Arenascape is a text-based game inspired by RuneScape and coded by Silverion, who owns this site. I never really played it too much so regrettably I can't really do justice in terms of a more detailed description.

So I got the internet to work, without their technician's help, all by just plugging it into a different coaxial port. Now my internet is a bit better, but unfortunately ping seems rather inconsistent. The speed is also half of what they advertised but I suppose that's to be expected. Any idea how to fix this? I'll try a direct line with ethernet cable but I doubt that'll do much. Update: looks like the ethernet cable does help substantially...and pinging my own router takes 500+ when it's not plugged in. Is it defective somehow?

Sorry to hear about your grandma Saw. And I would've posted sooner, but I had no internet and just got to my new place now... I have to pay $60 for them to come and set up my internet/router because it won't work. I bought it two days ago, don't know why it won't work. I called up the company that makes the router and they, after some prodding, admitted their instruction book is wrong. It says a certain light should be on before activating service and apparently it's the other way around. So I guess I have no choice but to pay them on Friday, unless anyone here has suggestions. Oh well.
