Ehh... it says F2P mage in the title dood lol.. Anyways, i just finished getting 80 mage from 71, i used 60k fire strikes... ( ugh) very slow but it is the best money/exp way to go, besided maybe the curses.. i just killed the lessers and mossies on karamja, made about 300k profit along the way :)

quite the opposite of all these cool finds.. ive just recently lost about a thousand+ dollars worth of stuff in a backpack i took to work.. (someone stole it) inside the bag was: A Sony PSP with 3 games my wallet with $100 cash, credit cards and ID a folding knife worth 200$ my jacket (100$) my paycheck for $600 the bag itself other random things which i cannot recall, but it sucks because i know there were some things in there that i really liked.. ugh......................... :( :cry:

i have tons of diabloe 2 experience, i can probably helpyou with most things there.. if you play US west ladder, i have an enchantress ( maxxed to the fridge) with like level 55 enchants (skill shrine) that will allow you to hit 6000+ damage at level 1 8) let me know if you need a rush or anything, i might be able to help you out.

I agree, F2P runecrafting is pretty cool, do air runes and you make lots of money, and get skill levels. ive never been p2p, so its a bit different cause im used to having only f2p skills to train, but you should give it a go, its great to have nice runecraft! :P

It's already been said in this thread, but Ammy of Power is best for range on f2p. Get that one.

Ok, I just reached 80 ranged in F2P myself. Well, I ranged the 2 lesser demons on the top of Crandor Island. There are safe spots on the east and north of their area. Cast a Curse spell on them to "pull" them over to your safe spot. If you do it right, then you will never get hit by them. I used to bring Curse and teleport runes along with my ranger gear. I don't know. I used bronze arrows that I got from Pirate drops. At level 65 range, the max hit of bronze, iron, steel, mith, and addy is about 8, 8, 9, 10, and 11. So, I think that Bronze looks very cost effective... Pick up your arrows. If you pick up an average of 75% of your arrows then you will get 4 times the number of shots out of them. If you use the "Curse pulling trick" that I mentioned above, then all of your arrows will be in a tidy pile, along with the loot, right in front of you. If you do it right, you will never get hit, all of your arrows will be in 1 place, and you can even kill 2 lessers at the same time. Hope this helps. Hey, thanks for the help.. how much better is the steel vs the iron, and is it worth the cost?

Ok guys.. here the deal. I am shooting for 80 range, and i need to know what is the best way to do it. Things like, how much its gonna cost me, is it worth it to use iron/steel/mith/addy or just stick with bronze for cost effectiveness. should i bother picking up arrows if its bronze? etc etc.. I need to know just the over all most advantageous way to get there, keeping in mind im not loaded. (with cash...) Any and all input is very much appreciated, thanks in advance~ :)

Personally, i love the idea that you should need a random 1 or 2 digit pin number to mine the ess, and after a certain total level, it should dissapear. What i would suggest to add to that, would be to have say, a 3 digit pin at the base skill total (whatever it is) and then as you progress, say once you hit 200 skill total it will be only 2 digits, and at 400 skill total it would be 1 digit, then finally at 500 skill total the pin will be lifted... this would work to stop the macroers totally imo, and would only slightly annoy a small percentage of players, since people with lower skill totals don't usually plan on mining and mercahnting 100's of thousands of essence. This idea can of course be adapted and changed a little, but for the most part I think it is bang on and would be very much effective in thwarting macro attempts (on rune essence at least) Good article, and some excellent ideas in there, I like this one best, and can definetly see it being implimented. :P :wink:

This is horrible. While i understand how it will i suppose work to deter ( but not even come close to stopping) macroers, the HAD to have seen the consequences of their actions. I recently just purchased about 60k rune ess and used it all for rune crafting.. imagine my surprise when i find out that the essense i ust bought is now going to be worth half, or even less the price i payed for it. Ok, fine. i can cut my losses, it wasnt too bad.. I cannot even imagine Lim_Dul's frustrations, as a fellow f2p'er... and honestly, all members who just happened to have large sums of ess in their bank just got payed off huge. its already easier for members to make money and train skills and such, and this is just gonna make it that much easier for them.. although, i imagine that is just a happy coincidence on jagex's part, as now it will bring in even more members :roll:.. it is a business however, so i guess they are making a business move. they gain more members which means more money. congratulations jagex, you figured out a wat to simultaniously take gp out of f2p players' pockets, place it into members pockets, while making other members pay more for crafting runes, and at the same time cause the very f2p players you stole from to pay you 5$ a month for membership. im impressed. :? no, seriously.

lv 100 combat here, 1109 skill total. almost 1111 :P 100% F2P 8)

ive got a lv 18 in rune with a scythe.. you wouldnt believe the amounts of people reporting me for hacking and such. fun characters to make, but you will probably regret it afterwards for the amount of time you have to invest in them. also have a lv 15 that wields rune weapons, and a lv 23(now 33 after rs2 update) that wears rune plates... its too bad you can do dragon slayer at a lower level now, i really liked having a lv 23 in rune plate :cry: anyways, its just someting to do for fun, do it if you are bored with RS currently and if you arnt a member (members have endless things to do)

uhh.. is it still the same as on rs classic, where putting it on aggressive just means you get +3 to strenght, thus causing the chance for a 1 higher point of damage? i thought this was common knowledge guys! :? unless they changed it, which i dont think they did.... so... yeah

holy crap, thats a heck of a thing to be comming back with.. my suggestion would be to learn the market for rares, and jus merchant then thing to death. easy mills right there, then, when you are seti with say 10-20 mill profit, buy it back, and let it ride till you are a billionare :P
