  1. What? Doomsavenger, dungeoneal, rocco, dusty, Ross, Grim, RpG, serephurus, Paul, pieiseaten, icu, rob are no longer here, and while some of them continued for a bit on dungeoneering, al lot of them didn't stick around. Rocco, RPG, Sere (recently), Dusty were around doing non-tavern activity. This is why they're gone, because each successive hegemony had less and less effort put into it by the players. The people that did want one left. "You are the only" is a poor statement to make in general, it's like the black swan argument. I can think that people would want hegemony.
  2. On the bright side there were worse people who aren't here anymore. But most people are here for hegemonies, these haven't happened since 2011. Over summer I have been planning to create some rules that act as a catch-all. I was quite hopeful for self-moderated hegemony as the original but it doesn't work if people are actively and knowingly destroying the game. I wouldn't mind moving to another specialist-interest forum, possibly asking some if we would be allowed a subforum. -- Non-moderated hegemony won't work if people play to win, especially with some of the current people in the tavern. Moderated hegemony is not as fun for something like the first.
  3. Iron Man 3 was better than avengers. Iron Man 2 was better than Iron Man 1 and 3, and better than avengers. Avengers was terrible.
  4. Just leads to girls regretting having sex and claiming it was rape. Happens all the time.
  5. Book of Eli - 10/10 Only flaw, Mila Kunis could have been replaced with a better actor. - Also, I am disappointed that Mila Kunis (an 8) is playing Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades, instead of Emma Watson (a 10)
  6. If somebody gives consent while intoxicated that is their fault. People are responsible for themselves while intoxicated. Sticking your willy in somebody who is unconscious is separate, because they cannot give consent.
  7. Bit late but 10 match ban for Suarez is damned harsh.

Today I was sad that Tyleryt and RpGgamer are not in the tavern :( Old members who never came back. - On this day I finally began reading Jane Eyre for my English Test (A-Level, so same as AP) tomorrow. I opted to simply read the chapter notes. I regret taking English, I was not allowed to change it for another subject without just dropping it.
  9. Has anybody still got the picture of ABC1230, he did this?
  10. I would probably get a bodyguard, and swap out the construct traits for a few of the elemental traits. The invulnerable and such would not work. It doesn't always have to be an elemental, such as if you're animating a tree to make an ent.
  11. I did yes. There is another source on magic, but it doesn't offer anything of note. Homebrewing something in a system I don't know is definitely not what I want to do, there are a lot of possible imbalances in the game when base DC for near everything is four. Currently the option I'm looking at is superpower summon ally and just create a few monsters of similar CR - so say you animate some water it's summon ally on a water elemental. I can't fit experimentation increasing your adeptness in without artificially nerfing or buffing the already balanced system. Although really, any sort of learning mechanic along with XP is incompatible because you get two sorts of goals.
  12. It's the only magic that does not require spell lists. Edit: Trying to create NPC sheets for plot-important NPCs, something like this will be the picture: I'm just looking for ways to add crowns and hats onto it while keeping the same sort of sketchy aesthetic.

Not everybody wants to have to ruin their body with drugs, the pill causes headaches, weight gain and can cause complications such as deep vein thrombosis and heart attacks. The condom results in loss of sensation.
  14. Julius Caesar 1979 BBC - 5/10, I have seen far more impressive adaptation. District 9 - 8/10, great film. Thought was very realistic as a geopolitical thriller. American Psycho - 8/10, Christian Bale is fantastic in this film. Exciting throughout. Ending was a copout, I feel like it would have worked if they were trying to portray some deeper meaning (all rich people can get away with this maybe?) but it didn't come across strongly. John Carter - 6/10, this is just Flash Gordon v2 except not as exciting. I liked the fact that they made a film like this, but thought that a lot of it just wasn't well executed. In time - 8/10, interesting message and well shot. Should have done far better in my opinion. Not a 9 because the ending was terrible. I feel like siding with the antagonist in this story.
  15. You are 27.8% Evil. You are 23.1% Chaotic. Alignment: True Neutral Had to take that test. - Somebody please link me to the new forum games forum. TNPW will write out a reply written how a severely obese person would say.
  16. https://dl.dropboxus...y Companion.pdf Mather. Ritual Magic Page 25-28 is the magic most similar. There is a degree of randomness which is removed as you get stronger.
  17. Come on, let's stay mature here.
  18. Sorry that my dreams weren't up to your standard of realism Mather
  19. Except not really, since they all sort of converge at the end of the book (or series) artificially. It's not like his books are "nothing happens for a whole book", when with this sort of would you feel like it should be. I know that the series of massive, my Game of Thrones book is around 700 words with massive text while my LOTR is 1200 words with tiny text - but I just feel that since everything happens so close together you don't get a sense that the writing meshes well with the story. The red wedding was great, but in the show it will feel so artificial with something big happening at the end of the show/book. I know obviously the biggest things happen towards the end, it's just that I don't feel it works. Hopefully somebody agrees at least, it certainly isn't a pet peeve many people have.
  20. I think I'm doing a bit too much taverning, I just had a dream with the group. I was DMing some session and Retech complained about the map not being fit for making a settlement - also he was playing a car and was saying its a way to get past having to do something. The party was in a cave, and were digging to find a glowing in the ceiling of the cave but they decided it was worthless. So the party decided to go to a river. Anyway, for some reason everybody switched from imagination to roll20 (which is to say photorealistic to grids in my mind) and Retech said he wanted a token, Alg gave him a token but that made me angry because I wanted to give him a massive annoying one. I changed the map, which was a greyscale height map - the sort that you would find in software like Z-brush. Nothing happened for a long time, everybody complained that they were too far from the river to make a settlement and I said that it was fine because that's how real life works. People were suddenly describing their characters, everybody was fairly average apart from Mather who was playing some character who turned women's heads square, he was saying that he just wanted me to tell everybody that they were occasionally seeing women with square heads but I said that you would need to do the sqaurificaton manually. Retech was looking at Mathers character and it was obviously d&d because Retech criticised Mather for having a high dex which wasn't true to the character. Anyway, Retech said it was a surprise ending and it turned out that they weren't females and he was just removing their penises. I was arguing with Mather that you cannot just do a chain of murders and "say it happens", you would need to do it in game. People kept arguing about this river, so Archi sent me a reply over steam and I told him no. I don't remember what he said. The dream felt like it happened in an instant, and I just knew it like a memory.
  21. Did not like iron man 3, thought it was such a cop-out. They introduced Iron-Man as this super OP flying beast, then he ended up losing his powers and having to go in a weaker suit. And then all the suits are fine in the end. Worst way to make a superhero film, take away the superheroes power.
  22. I re-read the LOTR every summer. I am beginning it now.
  23. Please tell me that everybody else feels my unrelenting hate for hate for Daenarys because of this episode. It's just her being a [bleep] and power-tripping, TV Joffrey is far more likeable and better suited for leadership than Princess Muh-Dragons-Make-Me-Superior-To-Everybody-Else. And dye your damn eyebrows: Grrr. Jaime Lannister is wonderfully acted and the unexpected underdog of the series. Shae is also terribly annoying. Most of my posts here are just my hate of various characters. I wish I could go into Westeros in around the early part of the book as Joffrey (10/10 facial aesthetics, king, gets all the [bleep]ez) just after Robert is murdered then I would make a lot of changes around there. Here is a list of all the characters who would be dead under my rule as Joffrey: Cersei, Maergery and her [bleep] mother and brother, Jojen, Daenerys, Littlefinger, Ros (but early on), Tywin (TV-series Tywin is likeable, but I would kill him anyway because he was rude to me last episode and he doesn't let me punish Sansa a few times). We all get this sense that Joffrey is some sort of tyrant, but killing a few prostitutes and being terribly mean to Sansa isn't really too much a problem - he doesn't do very much actual ruling. Sansa would be my bride. Assuming it's TV series Sansa. I would have had Baelish cut his throat, and then execute Baelish for that. This would likely mean that the Battle for the Five Kings wouldn't have occured, or at least only involved the two other baratheons. I would publicly apologise for Ned Stark's death. If I did not have the knowledge I had today, I would have killed Ned the exact same way Joffrey did. If I hadn't done that, I would have marched against The North. While the castle is strong, it's not impenetrable and my time as king was during the long summer. I would lay siege to the castle and catapult barrels of wildfire in. Also, I would arm my soldiers with massive waterguns made with wildfire. I would let Bran and Robb and everybody live - just have them pay fealty at swordpoint. I would send emissaries to beyond the wall to say that Winterfell and the North belongs to them as it is their right. They would march against it. The people who hate me in Winterfell would all be dead. Joffrey realised that Cersei was manipulative but did nothing to stop her. She was rather dangerous in the early part. I would have had her poisoned. Littlefinger was a terrible treasurer, although I would not know that. He certainly has a reputation for trying to make himself more powerful through deceit. Public execution which would increase my popularity. Bran would be safe inside Winterfell and would lure Jojen to him. The two would be kidnapped and used in an imperial warg unit to make sure that everything is known by me. Does lobotomising kill the warg ability? If not, I would lobotomise both of them. Also - I would make Jojen a cripple as well so he can't run away. Furthermore, when I was attacked by the poor I would have slaughtered them all. What sort of king allows commoners to nearly murder him and get away with it, it's ridiculous. Joffrey is a terrible pushover - throughout the series there was examples upon examples of Joffrey getting told exactly what to do and just dealing with it, on small things like Eddard's beheading he got his own way but he really is a terrible king. I am wondering whether or not I should kill Tywin, but I would not. Instead he would be tasked with the war against Daenarys and her armies. This would basically be manipulating the Eastern Cities and sending a load of assassins to kill her. Further to that, wild-fire spraying suicide bombers.
