New to members
Here was what i first did: Druidic Ritual (unlocks herblore) Elemental Workshop (gives access to elemental shield, useful at low levels) Tree Gnome Village The Grand Tree (both are prep for Monkey Madness, which you will want to do later) (These also unlock many teleport options) Tears of Guthix (very easy exp (probably free RC exp for you)) Priest in Peril (reasons mentioned above) Take a break to get agility to twenty or so (allows use of shortcuts) Take a break to get thieving to twenty0ish (should take about half an hour) Merlins Crystal for those all important quest points (and lets you do holy grail) Holy Grail (gives a TON of prayer exp) From there start training herby, fletching, thieving, and agility. Eventually, you will want to get to desert treasure, legends, monkey madness, regicide, and horror from the deep. Oh and welcome to members. Add me (whitemage750) and I can give you a tour... I have nothing better to do now).

whats the reason for the price difference?......
I just posted a topic on this earlier. I solved my problems by simply buying torags, which looks much more manly (minus the helm, which looks like a freakin' warthog)

What will people think of me?
Thanks again for all the support, guys, but I just went out and bought torags plate and legs so this thread is moot.

best way to beat monkey madness demon???
Leave it to me to give the most controversial advice... Ok, well, when I did it (I don't know if they changed it or not), there was a way to get the demon stuck on the edges of the square. You basically have to run around three sides of the square with mage protect on, and then get him trapped on one corner. This was the weirdest part. After I trapped him, he kept trying to melee me, even though he couldnt reach me. Therefore, i didnt have to use prayer, and just ranged him all the way. Really od, how he didn't switch to mage, but, oh well, i'm not complaining. If they did change this, though, I'd suggest bringing about 8 p pots (4) and the rest sharks.

I took Cdubs advice and got the torags, and let me say, my friends noticed this immediately ;-)

What will people think of me?
Let me clarify: While technically I have enough cash to get the legs, I just can't find a way to justify spending 1.5 mil more for something that is basically the same. I definately do *not* support changing into a girl, as theat is just plain wrong and is a primary reason of why there are so many pedophiles on the internet. I for one am all for internet anonymity and all, but being represented by a girl character when you are a guy (and vice versa) is a little odd, to say the least. I am not really *bothered* by people laughing at me per se, I just wish they would change their attitudes. This could be relfected by pricing the skirt up or the legs down... While I know there are more males than females who play this game, should the economy actaully reflect that? Just my two cents, Whitemage750 EDIT: Just realized that the most masculine character on the Simpsons wears a kilt. Therefore, I could be scottish like Willy! Woot! (Actually, my great grandparents are belgian.)

Thanks for the support, guys. This is why I like TIF so much. Thanks, I'll try to bear all these ideas in mind.

What will people think of me?
I recently purchased a dragon skirt. I am wondering if people will think I'm a crossdresser or something... I'm not the kin od person who really cares what other people think of me usually, but this is getting ridiculous. My friends are laughing at me when I tell them that it's a Dragon Kilt. What should I do? I only have enough cash for the skrit, not the legs, and because they have the same def bonuses, I figured the skirt would make the most sense. Any ideas on what I should tell people?

has anyone noticed a smiley in your workshop?
While this is funny, I can assure you that this is not the least of the lighting glitches or odd visual artifacts. Funny as heck though.

Forming a Good Karma Club
Fair enough, the club is just an organized way to help people. It doesn't exclude you from being a freelance helper xD

Forming a Good Karma Club
Hmm, if they do, I wouldn't know. I've never bothered to join them. Maybe I should...

Forming a Good Karma Club
Is anyone here interested in forming what I like to call "The good karma club?" Basically, we help out new players in lumbridge (i.e. give full iron, point them to varrock bank, and give basic account security help...) and keep the peace in banks. I've personally been doing a bunch of low level drop parties to introduce these new players to drops and some items that they may not normally have access to. It would help if I got some P-Mods (if they aren't too busy moderating) to come down and help me introduce the newbs to RS. To Summarize, I'm looking to form a good karma team. At the moment I'm smithing 100 sets of full iron to give away. If anyone wants to help, I'm in ardy world 42. Peace, whitemage

A new special effect for Torag the Corrupted's Barrows Set
And as the author mentioned, most people buy torags for the def bonus. My outfit for melee training usually consists of torags plate and legs, berserker, whip, and obb shield. I don't know exactly how much stronger it is than rune plate and legs, but it seems to be more effective anyways.

Remove post counts
  This is pure genius, I wish more forums had this type of ability. It is a fundamental (and documented) part of forum etiquette to LURK (that means reading a forum and NOT posting) for several WEEKS before beginning to post. The first of these articles is over ten years old: http://www.newsreaders.com/guide/netiquette.html http://www.faqs.org/faqs/usenet/emily-postnews/part1/ Actually reading the forums helps newbies learn what has already been posted a million times, and where to look for answers to questions. This would hopefully prevent over-excited posts by newbies repeating the same clueless things over and over. ("Hello! I'm here! Look at me! Where do I find Runescape?") Knowing what has already been said helps users to recognize whether they actually have something new and valuable to say. (This is not directed at any of the posters here, who are obviously contributing to an intelligent debate. Just to be clear.) Back on topic, I voted to put post count in profiles (where others could click to the profile to see it, I hope). Just last week I found a user spamming up a board who had accumulated 148 posts in ONE DAY. Each of these posts skirted the edge of being "meaningful". They were actually on topic (not "me too"), but not adding anything useful. I reported her to the mods, of course. What other motivation could there be for this nonsense besides post count? Again let me repeat that the opinions I post here are my own, and do not represent Tip.It. If you look at my join date, I've been LURKing in the TIF longer (11 Dec 2004) than Bloodveld and Trojann have even been here. Now, just because I have (at time of posting) 32 posts, it *DOES NOT* mean that I am a TIF newcomer. Postcount should not be used to judge reliablility and respect, quality of posts and join date should. Pokemama is RIGHT ON with her comments.

Level 3 Clues.... It *can't* be just me...
Why in God's name would you *WANT* to stop getting clues? That's all I live for in RS anymore...

Free* Furies, anyone?
Trying to keep this thread alive is pointless. Just realized that I need a group of people for this to work. Any alchers want to help me get a fury? I'll split the profits if I can get 20+ people to show up and alch while I kill them. I'll edit this once I get a sizeable list. --Side Note: Just to confirm, I ran another test today and it seems like it is the combined combat levels of everyone you kill. --Side Side Note: What's the market price on furies nowadays? If it's less than like 4m, I might just buy one...

Free* Furies, anyone?
Well, I tested one round with a friend and I got 1002 tokkul... so maybe it's damage based? Idk... I'd just guess 1k tokkul even.
-
Free* Furies, anyone?
I'm looking for a parter who wants to get a free fury amulet. Here is the plan: We go to fight pits together late at night, when nobody is there, and alternate taking off our armor for quick rounds. Because the winner gets 1k tokkul, and an onyx gem is 300k tokkul, we need to play 300 rounds each, or 600 total. I estimate about 25 seconds per round, which is 25*600 seconds, or 25*10 minutes, which is a little more than four hours. My friend (lt angel, 99 mage and crafter) will then take the onyx gems and trade us fury amulets. Anyone up for this?
