Well, I'm not in (like anyone asked me to, or would let me, or would care :wink: ). Pretty pointless IMO, should the guild operate within TIF.

Ryan..where did you get the idea that MSpaint was free? It's a part of microsoft windows (whichever version) and that product costs. I for one with macintosh don't have a crappy program like mspaint. Should I want to use it "freely" I'd have to dl some windows illeagally and use Virtual PC. (which I have done just for the sake of it).

This matter has been commented on so numerous pixel sig threads that it's getting old but anyway. :wink: People think one can get good at pixeling by just doing like 5 signatures. Artists like The_Jeppoz and misterxman have a long and high quality background of freehand drawing. They know how things should be drawn. It's way different than people emulating their pixel chars from other people's works or directly from RS. If you are already a talented drawer, sure try pixels. But those who can't, learning to make a decent abstract is easier. I still disagree that pixel sigs are the only challenging way to go and that other sigs take no talent at all. My sigs take some talent at least and are st times rather time consuming (not talking about 10 hours like the_jeppoz and his pixels though :wink:) PS However good your pixel work is misterX, I still think pixel sigs are holding you back compared to your drawings, that is.

.png does alone grant transparency and even a lot better than gif. It has a full channel for opacity, so you can make partial transparency instead of gifs full/none.

That latest creation of yours is rather ugly I would say and contains some .jpg quality loss. :wink: Where did you ge the idea for such text? I think even white Helvetica would look cooler. a quick way is to make parts of signature transparent in .psd format (get rid of background layer). Then use the Help>Export transparent Image function and select "internet" and Gif. You are done.

Godspeed... your signature is simple..not saying simple in bad, but it is one. Round looking objects are not that hard to make. For example these two took less than 10 minutes.

The method to make one. First I browsed through photos of the subject, observing how the creature looks. Then I drew an outline for the fin (the thing in the back...fin??) and expanded from there, molding it to my pleasure. I usually work alone with smudge tool. White color, finger paint and then finish with non-finger paint. Then I add colorburn layer and multiply layer for shading and color control. I work with background color close to the color of the water in the piece to create an animal that fits to the scene.

You can make .gif files transparent at desired locations (.png would allow partial transparency aswell, but IE 6 on windows won't show them right). If you are using Photoshop, it's quite easy, but I don't know what program you are using.

The edges are like the side of the boat, the part above the water line. They cast a shadow too.

These are such fun to make, but I gotta be doing something else too. Thus, this will be the conclusion to my best series yet. The shark is done in a new technique and I like the "a bit more realistic" look. It's a shark fishing boat you see covering the sun (if you don't get it :wink: ). Rates? Comments? Additions? Offers?!? :wink: The grand finale is here...
