10 Year Veteran Cape + Solomon's Store, 17th July
Mikjall replied to Polodevil's topic in General Discussion
That's because RS used to be different from all the other idiotic (generally asian) MMO's. Now it's turning into one of those games. Usually MMO's have a) a monthly fee or b) microtransactions. Of course Jagex seems to be part of the "Why not both?" school of thought now. Well, if it is getting too idiotic for you, play a different game. The thing is, you don't have to use the micro transactions to compete with others. Everything can be done without them. Wow, you must be part of the debate club, superb argumentation there. As a person who has been paying jagex for years don't I have right to voice my opinion on some forums? After all that's what forums are for, aren't they? If your government were to pass some idiotic law would you also use your brilliant "U kno if u dun dig this just bugger off k, move to another country" argument? For me this is as weird as paying extra for salt at a restaurant, hence I'm against it. If you like the microtransaction highway then good for you, that's your opinion and I'm glad you have one, just accept the fact that others have theirs. -

Most influential/iconic players of RS2?
Mikjall replied to Spartan3450's topic in General Discussion
I think anyone who PKed in the starting days of RS2 had at least heard of 3HitU. Those were the fun days. Wasn't like the current game where everyone's maxed out and with the best gear :D I remember actually PK'ing with a magic shortbow, 70 ranged and still getting solid kills. Right now that just seems some noobish utopia. Anyhow, Zezima, King Duffy and the Old Nite are the only ones who I remember from the not-PKing scene. -
So it seems jagex has updated the way billing works...again. It's like every time i want to subscribe again the design is different. Anyway I don't know if it's just me but I really can't find the place where i can pay with paybycash. All i get are the text message and credit card options. Halp?

Can't find the error log... Anyway tried deleting everything jagex/rs related and reinstalling. Didn't work. Now when i play with FF the screen just goes black at some moments and i have to load the game again...
-
Haven't tried playing in a browser. I tried reinstalling the client but it still does it. I suppose i have to start playing with firefox soon then...As the random closing is getting rather annoying.
-
So I'm using the default RS windows client that's @ official downloads. Lately I've been having this weird problem though, the client randomly closes. Is anyone else having problems like this or what might the reason be? It's rather annoying and it's ruining my life etc.

Did the guy break any rules? Not that i know of. So if he didn't, and he didn't insult the OP in any way, what did he exactly do wrong? The offense he is being accused of can't be dealt with within rs chat screen, so why even have the option there. If i said that i bought rs gp from you, should both of us be banned from these forums? Firstly, there's a difference between admitting to a crime, and accusing someone else of a crime. Secondly, I guess the real question I have is whether you think that this player admitting to RWTing was lying (for some reason?), or whether you think that it's okay to break the rules so long as you're not caught immediately. I.E. if breaking the rules in a certain way doesn't get you caught, then it's okay to talk about it, and no punishment should come down on you since they didn't catch you when they had the chance. RWTing isn't a crime, and people can talk about anything they want. Talking about doing something and actually doing it are two separate entities, and unless you lie on an official federal hearing, your words can't or atleast shouldn't be used against you. In the situation described, the OP has no idea if the guy did as he said, or was just blowing smoke, thus there is neither a reason for reporting him nor there being an rwt report option. Jagex handles rwt cases on a separate basis as they actually have the means to prove something like this(not just go with the he-said-she-said stuff). Also, i'd be admitting to rule-breaking at the same time as dragging you into it. It wouldn't really be an accusation. As I understand it, you're saying that if anyone admits to any wrongdoing outside of a court setting, it should be considered hearsay and ignored. I find it hard to believe that you would actually follow such a policy in settings outside of Runescape however. For example, if someone's significant other admits to cheating on them, should it be ignored because they might be blowing smoke? If you meet a random stranger on the street and start talking with them, and they casually start talking about having murdered someone, would you just let it go because talking about it and actually doing it are two separate entities? Obviously RWTing is totally different from murder, and I'm not trying to equate the two. I also agree that there are probably countless players submitting bogus reports of abuse for no real reason. However, it seems to me that the OP encountered a situation where a stranger outright admitted to what is, in Runescape, a fairly serious offence. Perhaps you're right and Jagex requires a higher standard of proof to take any action, but I'm just trying to understand the reasons why you think it shouldn't be reported in the first place. I think I saw some guys talking about killing cows the other day in some server. Call PETA someone. [cabbage]'s about to go down.

When you talk with them they report you....when you don't they still report you. God i love the RS community :D

Easy clue from kingdom management. Kewl. -
Well the teaser screenshots have no signs of any user interface anyway (the wilderness level icon is part of the UI afaik), so it all matches up. Anyway, something that MIGHT have to do with this topic: http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/37/feature/4974/Runescape-The-Wilderness-and-Free-Trade-Return.html "I'm also working on a update pretty soon for PvP-specific summoning creatures, that will come out this year." Might that be the jelly familiar thing seen on the screens? It's all speculations so far of course...

Before reading all material about urns I merrily went cutting willows with an inventory full of urns... Did get a little surprise when right after the first click it said inventory is full haha. Really hoped for an alternative to dropping/banking. Though i suppose the little xp extra is nice too...
-
This sounds like a good suggestion honestly. And merely a suggestion it will be :D

I'd rather get the d cbow, something that would actually be practical to use Statius's warhammer is used a lot...If they'd make the dragon warhammer a good alternative to use in wild (as wilderness updates seem to be their thing right now) I wouldn't mind that really. I doubt we'll get a new ©bow as rangers just got zaryte (not saying that was a good update) and ccbow seems to be commonly used also. Also i think the fact that this boss/monster is going to be in the wilderness is pretty obvious already from the pictures, not to mention an article i read @mmorpg.com had some hints of Jagex planning more PvE/PvP hybrid content in the wilderness. The only way i can think of killing this would be in the high risk wilderness worlds (less random 1-item rushers there and overall less players and the whole reverse psychology thing*). Seeing from the screenshots they're not using very expensive gear so...

3 effys in a ~180 dust devil task. I hadn't got one for a long time so i was pretty amazed... -
AMAGAD last thing i saw was me 600hp vs a skeletal wyvern who was half or so....AMAGAD!!!!
-
I doubt that would help. Jagex is just having troubles with servers as the amount of players online right now is a lot bigger than it was pre-february. I just lagged out while doing a skeletal wyvern task and can't log back in. GG :D Nor can i access the RS webpage....

Right when i was browsing this thread's ranger boots clues i was "lucky" enough to get a medium clue myself also... Hoped i could join the rboots club for today but sadly didn't :P Still better than most of my hard clues though... -
From my personal experience today I can say dragon platelegs are dropping pretty bad. The last time i had a metal drag task i checked they were worth round 600k, now they're like 300k. Didn't even bother to sell them right now. And robin hood hats have risen from like 3m to 4m. Overall I think hell has pretty much broken loose. Just better to do your thang in the corner and wait everything and everyone to calm down. After all it's been only 3 days so far...

Can't wait to see what the ashes update will bring. If it brings an actually working update to prayer training that'd be awesome. Just the thought of all the ash being dropped now...Being worth something!
