When you think about it, the troll is a good way to rid yourself of pets you don't want (quickly) and any items you are too lazy to drop (if it's trade-able). It's a walking garbage can. I'm assuming that it interrupts skilling by feeding your pet? Would be cool if it didn't. Too many glitches it sounds like, so I'm staying away for a while...

I agree with Kimberly.. while it's probably not in the rules per se, Jagex doesn't look kindly upon it. I wonder why Jagex doesn't allow players to lend spirit shields with sigils? I don't recall them giving a good reason when they released them.

<_< It makes much more sense to make more profit than to make less profit, no? With more profit from fish/coal, you can buy more herbs and get more xp. Edit @ above: The only limit I know of is that you can't have more than 1k nests.
