  1. Where's Rebecca Black? Anyways...here are my top 10 favorite bands. Bands, of course, being musical acts with more than one member in them. Otherwise, they aren't a band. No particular order. 1. The Who 2. Led Zeppelin 3. Weezer 4. Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band 5. The Beatles 6. The Allman Brothers Band 7. Anberlin (yes, I admit it. They are much more melodically/harmonically deep than most other "emo" bands, and I absolutely love 'Never Take Friendship Personal' from start to finish. Particularly enjoy 'Stationary' and 'Symphony of Blase') 8. Bloc Party 9. Sigur Ros 10. The Strokes
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioOEBdIgQ5g&feature=relmfu The user has a bunch of other videos featuring similarly bad tween girl singers and waaaay over-produced beats/video. This one's a gem.
  3. Sven Vath, Duck Sauce, and Odd Future
  4. Wish it was an actual gif so I could save it on my comp for eternity :'(
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeEWL36awFg Soooo good.
  6. Just added one of my eight mixes to Soundcloud. Will post it here momentarily! Edit: Here it is! NightlightOne Mix
  7. Hayao Miyazaki's movies are incredible, from Princess Mononoke to My Neighbor Totoro. Early Jackie Chan movies are where it's at too. Funny and full of incredible fight scenes. Favorite foreign movie right now is probably Un Prophete. It's basically the Godfather in a modern setting. Extremely well-acted and well-written, and much tenser than I thought it would be.
  8. Watched Akira for the first time last week. All I have to say is....
  9. Just visitin' to say free earl. Also steve harvey is a wonderful comedian. And this. My favorite collaborative OF track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhycjXvFDy8 Tyler eats the track alive. Gucci got nothing on this.
  10. All reworks of the originals.
  11. It most definitely does. For jazz, try Cobblestone Jazz. Very freeform, but some very interesting sound design and production, and a lot of live instrumentation is used too. They are as close to a jazz jam band as you can get, but I absolutely love their work. Their album "23 Seconds" is great, best cuts off of that include "Lime In Da Coconut", "Dump Truck", and "India In Me". Also check out all their singles on the label Wagon Repair. As for classical, producers Moritz von Oswald & Carl Craig reworked Bolero, Pictures At An Exhibition, and Spanish Rhapsody (the middle version used is Ravel's 1922 orchestration) and the outcome is simply amazing. Here's a review of it and the discogs page for it. I 100% recommend it. Discogs page Resident Advisor review Oswald has also released two albums with his Moritz von Oswald Trio on Honest Jon's Records, "Vertical Ascent" and "Horizontal Structures". Both are sort of abstract pieces with elements of dub techno and experimental music included, they're extremely interesting to listen to if you've an ear for detailed sound and sound design as a whole. Hope I helped!
  12. Just checked this out and it looked awesome. Thanks for the suggestion!
  13. Haha, I posted this exact same rant a few topics down. And you'll get the same sentiments I'm sure: it's the wilderness, tough cookies. I agree with you though, the same thing happened to me, and it's both sad and disheartening to see people do such things, but it's the way of the (virtual) world. Sucks, yeah. Get uber powerful and then go and kill someone up there. That's what I'm going to do. Eventually... :P
  14. I'm a sort of DJ. I have about seven or eight mixes using Ableton under my belt, but I'm actively getting better at live mixing. I use Ableton Live 7 and an Akai LPK 25 midi controller. That's it. Seems to work just fine too, though. Hoping to work at the radio station at my college this summer and get some real experience under my belt.

  16. This is the greatest thread on tip.it forums. I've been into electronic music for about five years now. I prefer all the European stuff, in the veins of deep house, techno, tech house, minimal techno, all that jazz. Labels like Diynamic, Planet E Communications, M_nus, Cadenza, Cocoon, and the like. If anyone has interest in these, please PM me. I love discussing this music with people and love to share favorites and ideas and such. Right now, I've been on a more deep house bent, with tracks from DPlay, Manuel Tur, John Daly, and Chymera popping up on my favorites playlist. Also, Lee Curtiss has released some amazing remixes too, including his remix of Gadi Mizrahi's "Can't Stop This Feeling" and Matt Tolfrey and Inxec's "Hollywood", both stellar deep house remixes. Also Lewis Boardman's remix of Nina Kraviz's "Pain in the Ass". Sorry, that was long. :P I love love love electronic music though. Thanks for starting this thread!
  17. I think we'd all like to see an addition that made prayer easier to attain! There are plenty of ways to train it now, but even ectofungus (which I definitely prefer) is so time-consuming. I'm fine with the way prayer works now. Like all skills on Runescape, it's not going to be easy or fast. You have to want to train it kid!
  18. I like this idea. The time commitment and patience necessary to achieve 99 in any skill should be justly rewarded, and it isn't now in my opinion. Sure, a cape is nice, but something more than that might inspire some folks to really go all-out for that 99. I like your idea, but the specifics escape for the moment. Definitely going to follow this topic and see what ideas get thrown around. Ideally, I think the reward should be something untradeable and useful on a personal level only, hopefully something that wouldn't throw the economy off-balance at all, but that may be easier said than done.
  19. I read the title of this topic and had to comment on its oxymoronic nature. Stopping botting? Not anytime soon.
  20. But that's the thing. Did I deserve to get killed because I'm not as strong as other players, had no armor, and wasn't interested in fighting at all? Or because I had some semi-decent food with me? Eh. He didn't really get my panties in a knot, I mean I was pissed off, but this is Runescape after all. This stuff happens.
  21. There's something immediately arresting and calming about seeing a row of twenty-eight lit fires. Always been a favorite skill of mine to train. Props and best wishes!
  22. There's something about starting Runescape all over again that irks me slightly...only if I lost everything, and even then it would still be a monumental consideration. But nonetheless, good luck with the new account! I wish you the best of luck
  23. The benefit of the proposed emote is that it is both hilarious, and often useful in a number of situations. I fully support 100%.
  24. Especially since it's on BXP weekend...head to the Wilderness Agility Course with nothing more than a bunch of tuna. Get killed twice. Still able to rack up a bunch of experience, but when time is literally of the essence, seriously? Is it really worth it to kill me? Second guy said he wanted to "test his lava titan". :-| Yeah alright. I'm sure this has already come up, but it's extremely frustrating and I wish something could be done to curb this. It's one thing to PK if you've got valuables on you but when you mean no one harm and are there PURELY to train agility, it's hardly fair. Then again, life isn't fair and RS is no exception. /rant.
