  1. I think minigames giving pretty generous bonus xp is the way to go really to make them popular. That way they don't 'devalue' training or have to directly compete with training because they aren't an alternative to it, but they do offer a way to accelerate lvling overall (if balanced right). Also glad they seem to have realised simpler games work better after the wonderful success of the previous 'wave' of minigames including the likes of the crucible, trouble brewing and MA.
  2. So you got 1 jmod to say the rumour exists without actually commenting on its validity and another to say he did not code it can't say for sure. Well blow me, clearly all the data mining done on beta servers and all the forefront people in port completion and all the normal people using reward capping for the past year and a half are utterly and irrevocably wrong on the idea that they get the rewards they want much more frequently by capping. As nice as those little jmods answers are they don't outweigh the body of evidence gathered on the ground in-game by hundreds of players over the past year and a half - a body of data which is by no means 'the same' as your group of 10 people doing nothing special and finding a rare reward to be rare, seeing as these people DID something tangible and achieved a tangible result from it on a large scale. I mean by all means go and find a few hundred people and data mine random event reward returns on the beta servers with 50% having no rewards to start and 50% having capped out several and get a good few hundred thousand data points and show it doesn't work and then hark superior about how you were right with your vague jmod responces. But until then I'm gonna stick with what I have tangibly seen happen with mine own eyes and have seen several very well known metagamers within the field of ports report and keep my rewards capped so I can enjoy getting captain and adv rerolls most of the time.
  3. I think Bik seems most likely personally. The whole Dramen tree linkage seems too juicy a strand to let dangle now they have kinda made it beyond clear there is a link there what with one of the original 3 looking like dramen tree spirit and then literally putting Bik's resting place right by the tree. Though Wen would be my 2nd choice. Both seem kinda equally accessible because they both seem to have some sort of avatar-ish presence (tree spirit and oracle) compared to Ful and Jas being entirely mia. Wen could be interesting as a tool to further the Imcando dwarves e.g. Sara is trying to get them out and with him back they have become active and they manage to dig a tunnel into where Wen is and are panic and Sara asks us to come down with him to help etc. Bik could unlock a good lore bite on fairy rings and the arrangement of worlds, after all the dramen tree is the 'key' required to work fairy rings (don't forget we have a tooth replaced with its wood to enable us to travel without the staff) Simply because Ful kinda ties in with the Thzaar and Tokhaar and I can't see them taking us back there so soon after that series ended. Jas we sort of already encountered and as the most powerful she seems like more of an endgame of the dragonkin line than something to be thrown is so early on. Mah we already met obv.
  4. The same way you got in or teleport. Handy thing them lodestone teleports that everybody has at least 1 of automatically unlocked can use em anywhere for free.
  5. Just tag the ice one first, get it down to low health then tag the rest, killing the ice asap. That advice sounds kinda messed up. Every other strategy out there says to tag the ice one last and kill it firs because its special is the most problematic in terms of survival. Tagging it first so its on you longer just seems like a dumb move. All the strats I read said tag blood, get it low. Tag smoke get it low Tag shadow get it low Tag ice kill it Kill shadow, then smoke then blood. Based on the idea that blood is the least dangerous, at worst it heals itself so it being on you the most isn't to bad. Then smoke because whilst its thing is DPS its not too bad. Then Shadow because its DPS power is quite high Then Ice because being frozen can royally screw you in terms of shadow and smoke attacking and requires extra tactics/abilities to cope with. Tagging it first just means you have to cope with all its freezing bs whilst trying to ignore to chase down the other 3 and then turn around and deal with it, tagging it last you can focus in on it entirely and destroy it asap.
  6. And don't forget the dwarf by ooglog bank who does the flask decanting! Plus if we are talking partials > full decanting it is nice and free and u get some empty vials to chuck on the ge for a few gp.
  7. I really need dat title, but alas I'm not too awesome with the piling and such so I'm waiting on full tetsu to try more. I have got close but my last try I just had super bad luck got frozen like the second I attacked ice and wasn't quite ready with freedom etc. and got shadow and smoke specs hit me at the same time
  8. Hopefully they can tweak it to consider item states better eg Active sign > inactive sign Lowest charge jewellery > Higher-full charge About the only one it is tolerable tht it can't cope with is pot doses, but then you can go get all the partials decanted anyway so its not the end of the world. And at least it withdraws stacked items even if it can't withdraw the number. Eg if you save 5k bloods, but then try to use preset with only 3k itll withdraw 3k but throw up an error. Though it would be nice to have more control on stack items e.g. being able to set it to do 'all-but-one' or 'all'
  9. Because people in HLF say it does not prove anything. Despite being maxed most folks in HLF are kinda 1 track mind, jump to say anything is nerfed at the slightest change of luck, think they know best and ignore advice from lesser types. Frankly it is a veritable breeding ground for ideas like port random rewards being nerfed to take hold on as it it takes is 1 or 2 who know nothing about how capping it works to cry wolf and refuse to heed advice and then a whole pack will join in. The only change they made to even rewards came well before I got 3/4 of my lifeboats and well before ports V2.
  10. And on the ones that are just install and open make sure that you install them via the email link only and that you do not uninstall them before it registers. Equally if any require a login to function or 'initial setup' you usually have to go past that. Other than that there are some that just downright do not work as intended because they are adware companies just want the mnoey and dont even own the app in question. Also like hedgehog said be aware not all of are simply open - several require buying a subscription or an in-app purchase.
  11. I had 4 lifeboats well before Pincers.
  12. Loving these rc emotes. Combo runes and arma runes just use the same animation as the altar you are at. Gone around and giffed the rest [spoiler=Air, Astral, Blood, Body] [spoiler=Chaos, Cosmic, Death, Earth] [spoiler=Fire, Law, Mind, Nature, Water]
  13. Your further enough through of Jod and don't have 4 lifeboats? Sucks to be you.
  14. Those are actually pretty cool, would be good to see all of them (including the hopefully existing soul one and the combo rune ones)
  15. Clearly you did not read the news. It specifically says it does NOT drop items only destroys them.
  16. I like this update, sad we didn't get bank slot locking but its awesome all the same. I like that right-click wear/wield from the bank directly swaps the items, as does switching presets. Got melee, magic and ranged slayer preset built now, kinda wish I had enough slots to do non-slayer setups for dps and tank sets
  17. You ideally want 4 TCM and 6 M/C and 0 Ox Lol that makes it sound like forget the Wisp, which I'm fine with, but just want to confirm. No wisp is in the ideal crew for loop so you may as well keep it now. You have 3 TCM you want 4 You have 5 M/C you want 6 That's 3 extra crew. You have 3 Ox you want 0 That's 3 spaces freed up.
  18. Would it not make more sense to post this new link in your existing 07 highscores scrape thread so that relevant discussion can be combined and all the lniks can be in one place? Making a new thread for each new dump seems rather spammy.
  19. As a rule of thumb crew > ship parts. Ship parts may give your percentages a bigger initial boost, but as the region progresses and you move into the next one your percents will be worse due to low level crew. Crew first may only nudge your percents up a little (after a bit of a drop on swap) but then as the region progresses so do the crew. By doing crew first you ensure you end up (or as near as possible) with all lvl 8-10s and the ship part, ship parts first would result in predominantly mid-level crew. Crew costs vs crew xp gains means you shouldn't really have a huge amount of entirely untrained crew at once anyway, just try to keep your recruitments a little bit spread for the core stat giving crew (eg get 1 m 1 c 1 sf at a time rather than doing 3 m at once) In terms of actual priorities there are nuances to each region e.g. in Loop the wisp is lower priority than ship parts. Depending on your play scheduled getting the rudder pre-crew can be beneficial as well, especially in later regions.
  20. You ideally want 4 TCM and 6 M/C and 0 Ox
  21. I thought this as well - if they full well know only 1% of the population has 1b+ gp how can they NOT do something about Vorago and Seismic Wands considering the market of players with 90 magic far far exceeds 1% and it is ridiculously imbalanced compared to all the other t90 gear. It also rings as stupid when with quest etc they keep banging on about not doing this or that or the other because it'd be to exclusive or to limited in who could enjoy it, but a wand only 1% of the population can afford? Not a problem apparently even though its more than triple the value of every single other piece of weaponry within its tier. I fail to see how this would do anything. The statistic is showing how many players right here right now have 1b+ out of the entire player base.Standardising it to hypothetically upscale the playtime of lesser players to boost the percentage wouldn't really tell us anything - the fact is they do not play that much and have not played that much and do not have 1b+, manipulating the stats through standardisation to be 'better' would only obscure the actual data of the proportion of accounts with 1b+.
  22. I'm guessing the way they calculated it is they divided your total game time by the amount of days since you created your account. I would imagine you didn't play 8 hours a day from the day you started playing RS. Same applies to Drumgun, and SUOMI for that matter. We all know they play way above that average nowadays, but they most likely didn't in the early days of their playing "career". Yeah I'd guess they simply took total player hours logged and divided that down to give the average hours per day and then divided that between the number of accounts and for all of us who do player longer there are plenty more who play way less. And nobody really keeps a consistent average sometimes I'll play 30 mins a day at best for a month or 2 then turn out 8 hours a day for a month or 2. Just because you personally don't fit the 'average' doesn't make it wrong an average by its very nature is unlikely to be anywhere close to the each individual, and that just becomes more and more true as the sample size grows.
  23. Some interesting stats in thoose charts imo. Quite surprised by how small 13-16 is, thought it'd be a bit bigger. The country map is quite interesting too, I'm guess the darkness of the blue is something to do with the percentages within the continent areas. Edit cause I realised I totally derped on intepretting the last chart, too tired.
  24. the air horn and catapults were pretty clever.
  25. Agreed. I don't mind them giving us choice as long as they are clear that choices only make cosmetic alterations or are 2ndary to the main quest (E.g the battle choices in TWW which can alter how difficult the fights are and cause Fiara to die) continually trying to plug the idea that player gets meaningful choices just does not work when they can't live up to them and they clearly don't have the dev scope (or desire) to make truly divergent paths of content to follow through on them. But of course it does require them to follow through on what they promise as well. The 'meaningful choices' in Death of Chivalery amounted to all of 'will Saradomin yell at you and do as he pleases or will saradomin be happy you let him do as he pleases. Whilst Zaros return, whilst somewhat sold as cosmetic was still supposed to be significant differences and multiple forms not a binary pick 1 or the other particles vs no particles.
