  1. I think it was a given that Zaros would return no matter your choice but when they spoke of it at runefest (and more recently) they did imply there was several progressive choices and that Zaros would have distinct looks based on how much you helped or hindered his return. Instead we got a choice of Zaros spewing particles from a convienetly hidden 'wound' or Zaros sans particles. Also I do not think the Hazeel reason for underusage holds true. Lorewise it is super easy to overcome "After you failed to assist me the remainents of the cult forged ahead and succeeded in my resurection" job done. Choice problems removed. Its less problematic than the Temple of Ikov one seeing as whilst we hinder his return (if you take that route) we don't actually do anything to stop him entirely. Where as in Temple of Ikov if we turn around and help the Guardians we kinda put them on high alert, they are aware this guy is after it now, so it becomes a bit of a stretch when you just get a letter saying "bad news he tried again and got it" For Jagex it is a great go to excuse for not using him, but in reality it does not stop him being used in the slightest since they have already set precedent of being able to 'oh it happened anyway' plot points to overcome old quest choices for the sake of newer better content.
  2. I don't think should add phoenix eggling because no other pet is on the reqs and it is pure luck based to get it rather than any show of skill or commitment to the game.
  3. "Help me make a smarter choice. But I'm going to continue making a stupid choice." We get it, you like to go over speed cap with engineer crew who are useless.Congrats. Don't bother asking for help. @Saradomin - I'd said someone said it, not that he said it. I know what I read and what my thought process were. And yes indeed wisp is a low priority, however that does not alter the fact it is considered part of the ideal crew for the loop and thus hiring one would be considered an upgrade of the crew.
  4. Your cost analysis only holds true if you assume using wicked pouch to switch requires 0 time, when in reality the journey to the bank withdrawing of the pouch, use of pouch and rebanking of pouch before proceeding to your new task probably works out almost identical timewise as using homeports to change spell books. And if we assume that time is equal (or close to it) all you have achieved is turning a 1 minute 0 expense task into a nearly 1 minute 40k expense task, which is a false economy. Plus of course we could reduce the time taken to swap spellbooks using other teleportations than the homeport namely the pharoh's sceptre or sceptre of the gods for ancients and the wicked hood for lunars, which offer much cheaper means to swap spellbooks quickly than the wicked pouch does. Aka it is false economy because you can do it cheaper with no time lost.
  5. That's actually not true. The lower your chance of success the better a merchant becomes. But you need to take into consideration of potential crew loss etc. Lifeboats don't work forever especially not if you YOLO every time with very low % success rates. Also it won't train crew at all if you fail, or so I thought. Lifeboats last forever so the issue of death is a non-issue. And failing does train crew, just not by a huge amount. As for merchant vs not merchant they are pretty much always worth it unless you get to really daft extremes (which should not be doable really) eg 1% success rate on a voyage with a 33% merchant that gives 200 goods = 2.66 expected return. 2% success rate without merchant gives 4 expected return. 50% with merch = 133 You need 67% without merch to exceed that (134) Essentially at all the realistic percentages for voyages the percentage success needed extra for normal crew to exceed merchant is larger than what they actually give out and the larger the requirements and the larger the voyage payout the more pronounced this becomes. And yet xpx's own ideal loop crew as discussed earlier in this very thread that everyone agreed to in the end specifically had 5 instead of 6 sf in order to have 1 wisp as it had greater use in more voyages. And yes i am aware speed is useless, however someone earlier referenced over capping speed as his reason for having them, with that in mind bigger speed stats = more over cap = "better" - but if that was not his reason for having them then it is indeed a null point.
  6. Yeah kinda hard to make any suggestions of improvement when you refuse to drop the utterly useless crew. Engineers don't even make that much difference in terms of speed stat compared to normal crew by this stage, let alone the fact they were useless from the start. I mean they are the Arc speed crew, like every region since the arc has its own speed crew with better stats so if you do insist on having speed crew why not at least upgrade them beyond Arc lvl crew. Could have firework enthusiasts from the skull, firework experts from the hook, explosives experts from the scythe, firework maniacs from the bowl or reefriders from the loop. Engineers cap out at 800 speed, that's the base stat of firework enthusiasts who cap out at 1600 followed by 2400, 4000, 5000 & 5000 with some extra stats. Even from the bad choice of having speed crew on board engineers are useless you are doing yourself out of 4200 speed stat by using them over higher speed crew. The improvements you could mark are: Fire all 4 engineers Hire 2 more merchants Hire 1 more morale Hire 1 wisp If you refuse to fire the speed crew there is very little you can practically do upgrade your crew and you'll just have to make do with subpar performance,.
  7. I don't think there are any with this function built it yet, but it is not too hard to work out. Set your goal as your current xp + 2* your bonus xp. Doing halve of everything listed will then get you to wear the calculator says and take your bonus xp to 0. Take that goal value and make it your current xp value then put in your real goal. Doing the full amounts listed here is required to reach your goal.
  8. ^ a ruby neck is like 1k and becomes 5 digsite teleports. You could change prayer book via the digsite using necklaces 32k times for the price of 1 bond. It costs 150 runic energy to change prayer book with 10k charge in a pouch so 80 changes per pouch. You can buy 2 pouches with 1 bond (80 runecoins a pop, 160 coins per bond) So 160 changes vs 32,000 changes makes the pouch insanely inefficient in terms of cost. Pouch via bond you are effectively paying 40k per swap. Whilst digsite pendants is a mere 200gp. Not to mention there isn't even a huge call to change prayerbooks in the first place, before you hit ss and turmoil prayers > curses; afterwards curses > prayers. Only need to swap books like 2 or 3 times in your entire rs career. And for spellbooks there's lodestones that dump you right by both swapping locations and the minute they take get you there via home tele is probably equal to the amount of time it takes to go to a bank get the pouch out and make the swap. Then of course there is the cost factor of again 40k for a spell book swap vs entirely free. All told the wicked pouch is utterly false economy, it purports to be helpful but it just ends up making cheap-free tasks cost a heck of a lot of gp value for very minimal time savings.
  9. That awkward moment when you miss the fact you can tell which crystals you do and do not have by the graphics and chapter select interface and then use a map to tell you where the missing one is. What I didn't follow why were some the crystals were kinda arbitrarily out of order. I mean if you fully explore and have no back tracking you go 9,2,1,4,5,6,7,8,11,10,12,3 I mean you semi justify 9 in that you see it from afar at 6 if you don't twig you can get behind the gate then have to re-find it. But surely in that case order wise it'd make sense for it to be: 7,1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10,11,12 That way they are in order even accounting for you spotting the one behind the gate (in theory) once you reach 6. Just strikes me as a bit random to have 1 and 2 reversed then have 9, 10, 11 and 3 out of sync for no real purpose. Plus why randomly make Mah have an arm hole to hide a crystal out of order when they could've made the final one inside the Elder Halls blocked off by her leg or something just as easily.
  10. Considering her importance to the ape atoll monkeys I should think this wont be the only thing we see of her. Iirc some jmod or other even made mention of her being tied into the next part of the monkey series.
  11. Well question 1 2 and 4 are entirely subjective and since we are not in fact you we cannot decide if to you think they are fun or not. As for question 3 this kinda hinges on if you decide to play the main game or OSRS, so probably best to decide that before hand.
  12. My only negative having read and watched the video: The bank pre-made loadouts clear only has 2 buttons - this seems like a bit of a derp considering at a very basic level in eoc you should have a mage loadout a rnged loadout and a melee loadout before even considering nuances of power sets vs tanks sets and specific boss setups. Just seems like they should've given us 3 loadouts.
  13. That isn't how drops work in Runescape. Each drop is independent of the others. ^ This A 1/100 drop rate, for example, means for every kill a number between 1 and 100 is picked and only 1 of those numbers is the drop. In raw statistics this does mean you would expect 1 drop per 100 kills but that'd be an average trend that emerges over thousands of drops from all players - just like how if you flip a coin or roll a dice a handful of times the results won't be 1/2 and 1/6.
  14. The trouble of course being 'starting somewhere' isn't really a start when it is an entirely different format and utilises entirely different technologies and coding structures. They could put it in a wrapper and make it a glorified mobile website within an actual app but that won't really give it all the functionality of a true app and would essentially require them to code a mini-browser.
  15. Then the options are turning down graphics or getting better internet or getting better computer.
  16. My override feelings with the 'app' is: It is not an app at all. It is a mobile website. What I'd want from an app is something that runs persistently in the background and can thus push notifications to me about things like ge offers and D&D, a mobile website does not accomplish this as it requires having the browser open and viewing things manually and typically speaking it'll use far more data than an app would.
  17. Are you using the client or a browser? Java on macs is a major pita and running it in browsers makes runescape rather unstable, whilst the client will run much more reliably.
  18. The names of the rituals refer to what they were doing to Mah rather than themselves. The ritual of Rejuvenation rejuvenated Mah so that she stopped having nightmares. The ritual of Enervation drained energy from Mah when she accumulated to much causing the world to begin to break apart (earthquakes).
  19. The J on the Seren island is kinda in the wrong place on that draft, it should be more on the northern tip rather than to the side. Also missing an rock formation marker on the narrow path in front of z08
  20. In your guide I notice you haven't fully explained the post-quest Seren memoriam crystals and the item db entries for the Zaros ones all state there are only 12 crystals on frenskae. After the quest there is a new pathway down a dead end near to the 2nd healing point thing that leads to the previous unreachable island seen from many points that has 4 big standing crystals. On this island there is a device holding memoraim crystal s01 - s04, to get it to release them you have to tag the glowing tall pillars a set number of times in 1 visit and the more you tag them the more intense the thunder gets. They require 20, 40, 60 and 80 tags respectively and all 4 can be added to the device in the sanctum to fill out the last chapter making for 16 crystals in total. Seems like info that could be included in the end of the quest guide and the map, along with a mention of the fact z03 is found in the Cradle post-quest as it was in Mah's arm previously which is kinda missing. I'd also note these things leave much of your map incomplete: To the right of H down that dead end is the obstacle to climb to the circular island shown near the z02 portion of the map which should be marked with s01-s04. There is also a ledge drop off the south side of the island that lands on the small 'bump' above A and the main path right near the world gate. Further to this the crystal in the sanctum is missing its label as z11, the pit as z10, the cradle as z03 and the elder halls as z12
  21. It was stated that she created somewhere but this new lore clearly contradicts that. Its feasible Jas' mother from the previous universe is extremely similar to Jas though, which would go someway to explain why the dragonkin went to her for help when they were refugees in the new universe essentially rather than Bik Wen Mah or Ful.
  22. May as well put this here rather than starting a new thread: It'd maybe be nice if the quest guide actually had some sort of note on what the Shard of Zaros does cause just the name doesn't really clue people in to why its a reward. Namely when wielded it makes all 5 factions in GWD non-aggressive as well as making the Muspah Non-aggressive. Also a kinda related tip using the Shard of Zaros in the sanctum memoriam thingy will summon Zaros to talk and he has a right-click option to rewatch his body forming cutscene.
  23. ^ I don't think the Elder Gods revert to stone/egg form. We have been specifically told they are sleeping at the locations their chronicles are found. This means Jas is not with the Stone of Jas unless Sliske has just randomly left it lying around near the scarabites rather than hiding it in somewhere he controls. I think they are just asleep, much like Mah was, however like Zaros told us there is a new Elder Halls on Gielinor which does have eggs in it which if hatched would destroy Gielinor. I mean if the Elder Gods had reverted to eggs and the eggs hatching was the danger Zaros intent to wake them up would be pretty dumb and he does not strike me as being that misled. The fact Mah was sleeping/comatose and not an egg also supports the idea they do not revert somewhat. Also I don't think your theory on Mah makes any sense - Frenskae had no life before the Elder Gods born it was the beginning of a new universe. There was no one around to abuse them. Equally it'd make zero sense for people to only abuse Mah's egg when there was quite clearly 5 of them in the same cave. Frenskae was ground zero the beginning of this universe. All 5 of the hatched and they believed Mah to be dead and so left her behind, she then awoke and clawed her way to the surface where she created the first known sentient life of this universe - Zaros and Seren. The whole concept they've built up here is Elder gods are born at the start of a universe and work to make worlds in order to make one rich enough in anima to feed their young. When their young hatch the old universe ends destroying everything within itself and a new one begins - the only things that can survive are any that manage to escape into the abyss or the void, which is where a handful of Dragonkin managed to travel to as their universe ended and ours began which is why in turn they went to Jas and begged for help only to be bound to the stone. I think the Stone of Jas is indeed an egg, most probably one Jas laid/made but it is flawed - the fact it is not a sphere and is partly rough rock implies it was not made correctly. I suspect it is corrupt and rather than let it hatch into another broken being like Mah Jas turned it into a tool of immense power.
  24. Tbf Dramen could still be linked to an Elder God - just we mortals named it ourselves and got it wrong. Afterall there still is the fact one of them clear looks like the Dramen Tree Spirit, The Dramen Tree is unique and has some sort of power to it and it is convinently located right where Bik is sleeping.
  25. I wouldn't celebrate just yet, everything logically would suggest they are not the mountains. Of the 4 locations only Wen and Ful are found in 'mountain' areas (Ice Mountain and Thzaar volcano) and both of these locations are known to have a lot of tunnels and excavations in them which would suggest they can't actually be the Elder God, unless of course the entire Thzaar Tokhaar Kiln and tunnel to Crandor are inside Ful and the dwarf mines and such inside Wen, just on top of them. The other 2 aren't even on mountains at all 1 is on a flat plateau and the other on a very flat island. He just meant that some mountains could be Elder Gods. Mod Rowley mentioned in the FAQ that the player has walked on Elder Gods before, and it's entirely possible that the Elders on Gielinor take a much larger scale compared to poor, corrupted Mah. Have you also seen all the holes in Mah? It's entirely possible that Ful is similarly structured and that she is the Karamjan volcano. If a literal mountain were to be an Elder God I'd say Wen and Ice Mountain is far more likely than Ful and the volcano. There just far to much in the volcano for it to be feasible imo; I mean how massive is the Thzaar are and we just have entrance to the 'lobby' essentially with the main city sealed off from us. Plus you'd think the Tokhaar would have some awareness of if they and their kiln had been swallowed by Ful before she went to sleep. Ice Mountain however seems more feasible as though there are tunnels there isn't quite as much and the northern reaches seem largely untouched, though the living rock cavern could scupper this idea. As could the Imcando Dwarf city buried somewhere underthere. Plus in terms of Elder God looks I wouldn't take Mah's holes to mean much - she is corrupt and ill formed. Having said that however of the three shown in the origins video Ful seems unlikely to form a mountain-form when slumbering. There is however one that does seem to have a mountain on its back that could easily be Wen (rswiki kind infers it is Jas off the assumption that Jas, Ful and ??? made Gielinor before Jagex tweaked the lore so 4 made us meaning Jas could be missing in the video). It kind depends how literal Jagex are being when they say we have walked on them - do you take it as a literal we are standing on part of them or a more figurative form much like how your not supposed to walk on a grave as you are walking on the dead but in literal terms you are not as there is several feet of ground between you. [spoiler=Picture of Elders in question] Given the egg chambers being Ice, Sand, Earthy, Fire it is pretty much a full gone conclusion the middle one is Fiery Ful. The left could easily be icey Wen (due to the icey mountains), the earthy un-named one (as its like a hunk of earth) or even Jas though I'd be inclined to guess it's Wen. The right I should think has to be the earthy one, which would fit seeing as it looks so much like Dramen tree spirit and in terms of the resting places ice mountain is Wen, Volcano is Ful and given Jas' 'sand' connecting the Scarabite plateau makes more sense than Entrana
